- There is hardly a time in the year, when flyfishing is more exciting, more challenging and at the same time more promising than during a mayfly hatch.
I managed to capture one of the best evenings on my Gopro, and I hope you enjoy the video I put together.

you obviously know your water 😉...beautiful fish and, as I learned on other video (huge pike), rich and fertile biotop....amazing how packed with big Ephemera mayflies...not a common sight nowadays in Croatia 👍👏

david Elliott the first half of june, when mayflies are hatching, are absolutely fantastic in our area, we are truely blessed to still have those immense numbers of mayflies which have disappeared in other areas. You frequently see fish of 3-4lbs on the surface... and catches like the last fish in the video are possible every year. And there are rivers where the hatch is especially strong, famous is e.g. the River Blau, here is a report and pictures if you are interested: troutfishing-germany.com/en/2018/05/fliegenfischen-an-der-blau/
@@troutfishinggermany9186 Thanks I will take a look, I only see the odd Mayfly around the Ammersee area. The biggest hatches I have seen were on the chalk streams of southern England.

Es ist wirklich ein herrliches Gewässer, aber so gut wie dieser Tag in der Maifliegenzeit war, ist es auch nur alle paar Jahre.

Ive watched two of your videos and you fell in during both videos... Is this going to be a theme?
:-) if you watch my Oman-vid, you will notice I had a dip there aswell... But everytime the reason was different! In the pike-video, I made a step forward into a deep riffle that I had underestimated, in this mayfly-video the bank collapsed because it was undercut, and in the Oman-video a wave flushed me off the rocks... so I hope this was all and it will never happen again! So.... NO, i do not intend to make it a theme :-)

Bertold Carl Ammer nein das ist der gleiche Bach wie das Hechtvideo. In Oberbayern gibt aber auch ein paar Traum-Gewässer!
