That's awesome. I tried to do a ring recovery last night, hiking in to a semi-remote beach at a camp ground, searched for a couple hours, and then hiked out in the dark before the park gate was locked, but no luck this time. The rare time I do return something It makes me feel better about all the treasure I find that doesn't go home :)
I always chalk it up as good karma for future hunts. I've been extremely lucky over the years with amazing finds that I've gotten to keep. I have no problem giving items back. Even very valuable ones! I searched for a 5 carat $150,000 ring a few days ago and would have had zero issue handing it over. Unfortunately, the owner posted the exact location on a public facebook page and left it up for hours. I had gotten out there the next day, and someone had already found it :( They never got their ring back

I just got a reply from this ring owner, with much better information on where to search, so I'm heading back out after work tonight.
This park requires day passes during the day, which are hard to get, so hopefully I won't get scooped.

It really depends if you're going into or near saltwater. You can get away with a more inexpensive machine if you're staying on dry land or only in freshwater

Wow nice job I was in the freshwater hunting a gentleman came over and asked me to look for a gold bracelet that he said a young man had lost it 2 weeks prior in the lake the sand is just like pure sugar and things just sink and the place is just loaded with pull tabs cuz people party there every weekend so I had the Manticore i search got a bunch of 30s it was pull tabs a guy had a gold bracelet on and neck chain I asked if i could run my coil over top his bracelet and his necklace they were like a 17 after 45 minutes looking in the area where they said the boy was scuba diving with goggles and could not find it with no luck got some targets but just not anything that sounded good but i didn't give up came back the next day brought my D2 with the 9-inch coil started hitting the same identical spot bam got a nice low number 28 damn I said that sounds pretty good let me dig it oh my God D2 strikes gold yes it was the bracelet couldn't believe the Manticore didn't find it but the D2 found it i was baffled why i couldn't find it with the Manticore so I went home and weighed the chain 6.8 grams 14k gold I ran the Manticore and the D2 over the target again on the ground and it only registered a 4 barely on manticore and I basically had to scrub the coil against the chain to get it to read that with the deus 2 it was 28 to 33 and I was able to raise the coil off the floor at least 6 to 8 in and still hit the target D2 is the winner now I have to find the boy who lost the chain it's going to take some time but I think I can get it back to them

Curious why you deleted my post about sharks? I am genuinely curious as to what you perceive the risk factor to be and if the metal detector can possibly keep sharks away.
I have no idea what happened to it. I only delete comments with links from people who are scamming. Sharks aren't deterred by metal detectors. They swim right by as if I'm just another person
@@DetectFlorida That is odd. No links were in the first post. Anyway I give you credit for being out there, especially in that chest deep water. I 10000000000000% would never do that haha. You would think the electromagnetic field from the metal detector would have an effect on them but maybe not. As to sharks I have seen so many shark videos where a person just had no chance. For example the one with the kid who jumped into the water in the Bahamas. He was gone in 30 seconds. Not that sharks are imo evil. They probably don't even like human flesh. More of a mistaken identity thing. Keep up the good work.
