you said it was may 6th. for steelhead, coho, brown trout, start march 6th. use spawn bags. that pier is good and is one of the first spots to fish on lake michigan in the spring. you can follow the fish up the coast from there. st joe, south haven, saugatuck, etc.

I've tried spinnerbaits with my 30lb braid with 10lb mono leader on my Curado DC and Medium Heavy Shimano Zodias at Port Washington Milwaukee and caught a few Cohos. You all should try spinnerbaits. I am not really a fan of setting the rod and waiting for the bite. Trout loves spinner baits.
