After being as low as a sportsman could have been, after taking that amount of stick, I thought he showed remarkable strength of character to come back and take 37 wickets in a series against us. Terrific stuff.
Absolutely, credit to him and he seems like a good bloke off the field as well. He was a pantomime villain and the game needs them.
As funny as this clip is, which it's brilliant! He did come back and absolutely ruin us hahaha, fair play to him, was lethal
@@jimelements7472 yeah his commentating and journalism career with in cricket has showed he’s actually a really nice fella
@@WildlifeWithCookie his one series out of generally mediocre ones
I remember being there as a 14 year old at the ground. As an Aussie, this was one of the funniest moments ever 😂😂
0:48 what vaughn said about about mitch in the last? i can't comprehend.
@@anantgarg8741
He said : “I interviewed Mitchell Johnson last week and he said, ‘the barmy had done one on him’…”
The meaning? Basically, Mitchell Johnson was having a horrible series, the Barmy Army were reminding him how bad his series was, and when he came out to bat, it was the perfect scenario when got out first ball… so Michael Vaughan was saying that ‘the Barmy Army won that little battle’ 😉
I was there in the barmy army. What a time
And rest is history.
How johnson ended careers of many english batsmen
0:48 what vaughn said about about mitch in the last? i can't comprehend.
😂
Can't wait for the mighty barmy army here in Australia✊🏾have to go join them for a beer with the nuts🍺💖✊🏾
I gotta say, this chant was piss funny and I'm an Aussie.
Damn. This is why I love the Ashes drama everywhere
I will never get bored of this
Claiming a wicket when in reality it was a fantastic ball. Shame Tremoett had so many injury problems could have been a top top bowler for England
Agreed. Disgusting lack of credit to Tremlett.
I was there in the crowd. Great Ashes moment. I'm convinced he was expecting something short. Good delivery.
He's absolutely jacked now!
The Mitchell Johnson ashes turnaround has to be one of the all time great cricket stories. He went from a total joke in 2011 to being unplayable next series down under. Hats off to him.
And then returned 3 years later and ended careers.
One series wonder, beaten all over the 2015 ashes as well and got so mentally done by the crowds he bowled one from 25 yards
Took 22 wickets in a three test series in SA bowling at the likes of Amla, Faf, ABD and Graeme Smith. 311 test wickets says different. Didn't bowl too badly in 2015 apart from that one test match. He's Australia's fourth highest wicket taker at test level behind Warne, McGrath and Lillee. First two are arguably the best ever spinner and best ever quick. Hardly a one series wonder champ.
Jackson Pastoor and Anderson took 24 against Australia in 2010/11. The series which is the subject of this video
I watched him in brisvegas do us. It was painful but what a bowler he was in his prime.
Jackson Pastoor yeah he had the last laugh
For these reason Johnson was player of the ashes 2013-14 😂😂
This is why I grew my mustache and the rest is history.
That delivery of swing on the first ball was mint to be fair.
Amazing moment !!
Hilarious this video is still winding the Aussies up!! 😂😂
@Steady as she goes except he's not. We can move on as we've proven. Aussies are still moaning about the bodyline
@@paparoachluver4eva No one talks about Bodyline but they do talk about the time that Mitchell Johnson took 37 wickets in a season against the country that invented cricket
And two 5-0 ashes wins still winds up the poms
Cheaters can't take jokes apparently
@@mikeoxmaul9386 Someone must have forgotten the lollygate scandal. Whoopsie
Actually a top fella and an awesome cricketer! 👍
I remember when mitchell johnson destroyed the poms in the 2013/14 series and it was 5-0
Rory McNicol one series wonder
So he got his other 280 wickets from where? NaH bUt 1 SeRiEs WoNdEr
home track bully
I remember when Cheika ran away from your union team
Yea the only time he turned up for aus
Im Australian and i think this is bloody funny as hell 🤣🤣
Awesome
Aussies. Love dishing it out. Can't take it.
Lol, what happened 2 years later...let me know, cant recall...please???
Love to see the balmy in full swing. He got his revenge and some though.Best series from a fast bowler I've ever seen, Steyn and Broad are close though. I am youngish though.
Nightwatchman He is right, THOUGH..
Steve Harmison in the Windies 2005 was special.
And a few years later Johnson took full revenge against a great England side.
This is why crowd make sports
Make it available for everyone
I am a professional umpire of CLUB CRICKET in Kolkata. Kolkata is famous fpr its own EDEN GARDENS. In the third Test Match of India versus England in 2012 which was played at Eden Gardens, I shared the BLOCK with the 'BARMY ARMY'.
Although England had the upper hand in the entire Test, starting from Day 1; the BARMY ARMY felt us as if we are watching an overseas Test Match of India.
Blowing of trumpets with every Indian wickets that fell, clapping, cheering, drum beats, whistling made us tremble
He took the revenge in 2012-13 Ashes
I love the barmy army
Then made them all cry and return home :')
One of the rare cricket videos where no Indians commented. I am happy to see.
It's there
I was there, it was hilarious
Just brilliant 🤣🤣🤣
Was this the fifth test?
This man singlehandedly ended the careers of Graeme Swann, Jonathan Trott and arguably Kevin Pietersen. In one series. Poor poms couldn’t handle it and ran home to their mums .
Well said 🙏🙏
A lion in his own backyard and a dog with his tail between his legs in the rest of the world.
I’m Aussie but I love that clip 😂
Its a great pity that magic is not working now (ashes series 2017)
Mean while
Virat : " hold my beer"
No ..Johnson did 2 years later and retired half of Englands team....As per Kevin Peterson "nobody could sleep"
@@stevenbissett lol all those world cups 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆👍
@@stevenbissett how come u say that nz are best ? They don't even play proper test series wtf is 2 match 2 test series ? Atleast Play 5 matches then we'll talk and win a series in Australia and India 💪
@@gamersplatform1574 the big three are not interested in playing 5 test match series against NZ because they won't earn as much money compared to playing amongst themselves. Professional sports is about money. Nevertheless NZ are currently test cricket champions.
@@stevenbissett haha, the kiwis who think they could fly.
English batsmen had to pay the price during 2013 Ashes series in Australia... some of them ran away midst of the tour as they were not able to cope with the hostile bowling of Johnson...
BT sport the best sports yt channel
I remember when we smashed Swann for 26 off 1 over and made him retire after already being 3 nil down.
Hey Tommy Nico, the tosser is doing big bash commentary this year. Can hardly wait.
My favorite moment was when we made your coach sacked in 2013.
Aviral Ashok hum kaha se aa gaye be? Tere jaise haramkhor nikammo ka kuch kaam nahi hain kya? Har CZcams cricket video pe Indian aur Pakistani gandh felane chale aate hain.

I remember when billings smashed lynn for 34 off 6 balls 😂👍
Feels so good getting a number 8 batsman out for a duck, doesn't it?

@@reolgueno1769 he clearly is!!
@@reolgueno1769 from winning all those world cups? From winning more ashes series, more matches, the list goes on, my friend lolll

If England needs to save cricket in their country they need to make cricket available for everyone otherwise 20 years from now and there will be no cricket in england only football
Good crickets for coolies
Rugby, tennis, golf, many things. Relax.
We've got players like Dom Bess, Ollie Pope, Dom Sibley, Sam Curran, Jofra Archer, Zak Crawley all coming through the ranks england have a great cricketing future and are world champs
Well that hasn't aged well has it? Grounds packed out for all of last years tests and the 3 so far in 2023, any other business advice?
Atleast australia has not lost humiliatingly as england have lost like 5-0 like 5 time now.
Bhaskar Bhasku like five nil like five time now? What does that mean?
Australia haven't won a series in England for 23 years, flat track bullies on hard wickets in Aus, constantly failing in India, Pakistan and England especially where the ball swings around.
I think Mitch had the last laugh though when he smashed the pommes in 2013/14 ashes. He was on fire then.
He repaid them with interest a wonderful bowler good WA boy.,
australians still crying about this video.
Comebacks are always strong.
He got his revenge tho in 2014
oh dear
Then after 2 years Mitchell Johnson ended 5 careers and this Graeme Swann retired in the midway and he speaks
Aussies gonna cry after watching this video😂😂, RIP aussie !
well they may have seen M. Johnson off 1 time, but how many English batsmen did M.J see off LOL?
Lol then 3 years later Johnson ended the careers of Swann, Trott, Kevin Pietersen, Carberry, Prior, Bresnan, Tremlett and Panesar hahahahahahahahaha

just beautiful! 😂
Bit sad as a 'favourite memory'.....Seeing Swann getting smashed into retirement and Trott quitting the tour probably isn't my favourite memory as an Australian.
Trott had a mental breakdown and depression I believe.Anyone would have gone home. This coming from a man whose has the same.
and next time England toured the Barmy Army were quiet
Much like now.
The Barmy Army is never really quiet. Just the English cricket team was shocking. Much the same as this series.
No they weren't
Duncan Mackenzie They weren't quiet. Its probably the one positive to take away from that series
Big Woop we had way less people but made hundred times the noise 😂😂
Different story now haha
Well done virat!
Every Indian in the crowd are as enthusiastic as the barmy army group. I bet...
The whole crowd... led by Jimmy Saville!
with a counter chorus from Rolf Harris

चौहान साहब relax they weren’t abusing his family. Just saying his bowling was not good. It’s gamesmanship, trash talk, sledging.... etc.
He bowls to the left....
And then he murdered them in the next series and ended like 3 careers lmaooo

All the Aussies completely disregarding the point, time and subject of this video.... Oh well, they’ll never have us in the motherland!

There was me thinking it was Tremlett that saw off Johnson, but no, apparently it was those boring football fans with their stupid songs. And there was me thinking Test matches were about the cricket, but no, it's all about these attention-seekers.
Ridiculous I would say. Don't complain if this hits back.
