Hi. Kate. Regarding some of the top sections of tops or dresses. All you need to do as a shortcut/bit of a bodge job if sewing isn’t your thing is….. without removing the top section from the waistband unpick the sides and cut out the excess material. Make sure you check before removing too much, pin it and either hand sew or machine sew. Not everyone has an over locker for sewing so maybe a double hem. It sounds difficult but it’s not too hard to do. I taught a friend how to do it as I’m not always around to sew for her. I hope this helps and I know it’s not the right way to alter an item!! But it might get you out of trouble. Best wishes.Ashley xx

Hi Kate quickest alteration option especially for the fish print dress buy some waist elastic then chop top part off sew elastic to bottom half make it a skirt , hide the elastic by using the top half to cover the waist elastic x
