    I just sent this to my son...he's got a new welder and I just greenly bought an 07 f150 and I didn't realize the extent of chassis rot. Hey, I had a dress on the day I bought it...😁 thanks for the video. I hope it inspires him to want to help his momma.

    What a difference that made!
    My OCD would have forced me to grind the welds smooth before painting it lol.
    Now I'm very nervous to crawl under my 04 2500HD Silverado.
    I honestly would have considered trashing the truck or finding another frame or whatever.
    Never seen a frame rescue like that before - bravo.

    I have an 06 Silverado with pretty much the same rusted frame damage. Here in Indianapolis I get automatically turned away when I I tell them about the damage. Apparently here in Indy, It's a lost skill that no one but the dealers know how to fix. No shops will even look at it.

Today I had started cutting and forming the pieces of 1/8” plate to box in the rotted out section of my 04 F150 (as seen in other videos on YT). But when I stumbled upon this musically enhanced version using 2x2 tubing… it just made so much more sense to remove the bottom rot and box over… not to mention strength! Thanks again!

    • @pistonring8
      @pistonring8  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah, unfortunately it's pretty common for recon shops, auctions, lots and private sellers to hide frame damage by filling them with spray foam, body filler and fiberglass. Rubber undercoat spray seems to hide a lot of damage as well, and it's causing SO many unsafe vehicle conditions... Especially in our great national Salt Belt.
