I was guessing ÂŁ2 millionâŠÂŁ750k actually seems like good value.
Totally agree! Itâs sort of big roller type of money. Not that a Phantom is anything but expensive, but still.
I know it's technically a replica (barely, it's almost perfectly identical to a real one, just better built) but when you could either have the old, fragile, art-installation only original for nearly ÂŁ10million or one that looks the same, IS the same but is better built AND driveable for about a 10th of what they usually sell for? I'm on board.
Hell, if you're the type to throw this sort of money around, why not pick up an original to have in the collection and let it sprout piles of money from the exhaust AND have one of these so you can actually enjoy it!
Same. If I had the money, I'd buy one. It feels like it's more than a ÂŁ750k thing.
@@helplmchoking thatâs exactly what collectors do now. Before GTO was making revivals, owners would swap out the original engine/transmission and use a new one to maintain value lol.
Bob Norwood in the US is selling 250 Californias for around $1 to 1.2M. Those have an original Ferrari chassis (from a 250 GTE or 330 GT) and an original engine. They create a new body in aluminium over a wooden buck. To be honest, I would rather have the GTO Engineering SWB being brand new.

Right? And yet they're stuck under 1M subs for quite a while now.
This is the MOST BEAUTIFUL car ever made... Not to mention the engine.
What? You donât like the Ford Pinto better? There is no account for taste!
YES YES YES THANK YOUUUU I can't get enough of the GTO 250 SWB.
I used to live near the area and I used to drive around for hours and sometimes id run into one of those beauties, then id proceed to lose my shit and after a while id have to pull over and collect my thoughts, I'm not ashamed to admit I cried tears of joy when I saw one of these masterpieces drift around a roundabout, hearing the colombo v12 rawr, it was overwhelming! I love these cars and part of why I love them is the freedom that comes along with them, sure they are expensive but nowhere near as expensive as the original ones. Also, the original ones carry so much history that you can afford to jeopardize that, I couldn't anyway, their history is too precious to me. The GTO recreation allows you to be in the position they new owners of SWBs where in period, you can drive it hard take it to historic races and no worry about driving a historic artefact, you can focus on creating new history with these timeless beauties, you can continue their legacy by driving them to their limits. A clean slate. At the same time, you're able to spec it any way you want and hopefully, you'll choose a historic Ferrari livery, maybe reinterpret it, you're freed from resale red over tan which somehow applies even to the classic Ferraris. This car embodies peak car design and aesthetic, peak car driving characteristics and engagement, peak racing with the incredible endurance races of its time, and above all freedom. Freedom from Ferrari snobs, freedom from the immense responsibility of preserving a historic artifact, freedom to create new history and that's why I love these cars and why my dream car isn't a Ferrari 250 SWB but a Ferrari 250 SWB built by GTO engineering (in the spec of chassis no. 2159 GT without the spotlight in case you were wondering).
I'm 19 years old and while I got my whole life ahead of me to put myself in a position to buy a GTO 250 SWB I'm honestly pessimistic as I don't know if cars like that will be available or even legal when that time comes. If you own one of these cars or any raw driver-oriented car whether it's a classic or not please, drive it, enjoy it and experience it as much as possible these cars were not built to be garage queens and a generation of future petrolheads might not be able to do what you have the opportunity to do in the future.
PS. I would call it a recreation rather than a resto-mod as they are all original or have period-correct mods, I think Alfaholics GTA R when i think resto-mod.
I've seen these in person and the only real difference is, well, they look nicer than a real 250. It's like a Singer 911, only more true to the originals.
It's indeed like Singer! They are more Perfect than the original car from factory!đđđ
Wonder rather have a Gunther werks 911.
This is a really beautiful car but the Gunther werks is a perfect B Road monster, I would add more sound deading, multi ratio suspension at a touch of a button and an exhaust value button. To make it a long-distance car as well as a drivers car.
To be honest it would be impossible to pick.
Yeah these area seriously impressive. I really dig the restomod thing, have done for ages, but this is actually pretty unique in the space. It's almost entirely the same as a car from the 60's, no modern brakes, gearbox or whatever. But it's a collection of 60's pieces built in the 2020's, ultra-precise casting and machining, super close tolerances and engineering (no slide rules in that studio, I imagine) and that's truly special. Kinda gives an appreciation for what these sorts of cars would be like if they'd had our technology 60 years ago.
In fact, I once got to drive a Daytona (sorry for the flex, but context) and I was so, so excited and then... it wasn't great. I mean it sounded amazing and I felt awesome cruising in a Daytona, but it had that old car "everything feels kinda loose and sloppy and fragile" kinda feeling, not at all confidence inspiring and honestly really distracting. I guess it's like switching from a 20 year old car to the same car with completely replaced suspension, bushings, steering and all that. The same actual car, just tight and crisp and new.

Finally!!! I've been waiting for this one! The GTO Engineering 250 swb my dream car!
Absolutely beautiful, it'd be one of my three wishes if there was a Genie in my lamp.
Having owned and driven classic Italian cars as my every day driver for most of my adult life, I can only imagine the delights of owning one of theseâŠ
Actually, the SWB wasn't a touring car. It was developed for the "GT" competition class in road racing. Rob Walker owned one that Stirling Moss used to win many races. And the SWB was the source of many of the underpinnings of the 250 GTO.
Exactely !
The Revival SWB is something I've been researching for a while now and it's been my complete absolute dream car. And now to see it from my favorite channel to review it. Thank you Carfection.

It just looks wonderful! Looks like classic cars are making a comeback. I want to see more of these things on the road.
Brilliant Resto!!!
I considered a Ferrari in '89, but due to the construction concerns......, went the Porsche route. Never looked back. However, this is the perfect resto, well done GTO Engineering. What a gorgeous machine that you have made.
Amazing car and very faithful to the original, but itâs their other car theyâve got in the pipeline that Iâm really looking forward to seeing, the enhanced GTO Squalo restomod. Anything that blends classic car charm with modern technology gets the tip of the hat from me.
The reflection on his head at the beginning was just marvelous, it was like the end of a rainbow, kept me mesmerised for a bit . Beautiful.
God themself cannot describe how badly I'd love to have one of these. Everyone and their mother is like, "Aww look at that 250 GTO and how amazing it is to look at, and expensive it is," imo the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta is one of, if not *the* prettiest cars ever built, 250 GTO be damned. This is perfection.
It would be nice to have a stable of these classic resto-mods like the Eagle E-Type, Singer Porsche, Cyan Volvo P1800, Bell Sport Ferrari 330 LMB, Aston Martin Works DB5, Alphaholics GTA-R 290 etc. etc. etc. !
Utterly brilliant. Well done guys đ
Absolutely beautiful. As my first car was a 1930 Chevrolet, I totally love old cars. Each had their own character. You had to learn this by using them daily for years. I loved all 50 of them. As a poor youngster, I eventually managed to buy my first car with a loan at age ~20. I treasured each as if they were brand new and I felt like a millionaire. Obviously I had my unobtainable favourites but at the pinnacle those were the E-type, Miura and Dino. Fortunately my desire for collecting was satisfied with small die-cast toys. Love your channel from deep dark Africa.
Purist here and generally not a big fan of restomods, but I totally get it. Why shouldn't the world get to see more of these, especially with the love and build quality that's gone into making it? Oh I want one so badly. May have to sell a kid or two... Great content as always. Cheers, Dave
I watched Stirling Moss win his 7th TT at Goodwood in 1961, driving Rob Walker's navy blue (with a white stripe) 250 GT SWB. It was love at first sight. If I win the lottery, there is likely to be a Restomod in my future.
Wouldn't it be nice is Ferrari still made beautiful cars?

You mustnât say noise for such an engine mate ! This is sound or melody and this car is marvelous
Lovely thing but I wouldnât call it a âRestomodâ. Itâs built in the original way, to me a ârestomodâ would need to have upgraded engine/box/suspension etc
I mostly agree, but to be fair, it is putting out a good bit more power and has a larger displacement engine than the original.
Wonderful. Simply wonderful.
Every SWB GTO you see racing at Goddwood is one of these. No one, absolutely no one, races a real GTO these days, which is fine by me. Watching real ones tottering around with a hundred yards between each one, would simply be boring. Instead these are swapping paint and reviving out like they should be, whilst preserving the originals for future generations to admire.

Ferrari being Ferrari, how all the licensing works here? GTO Engineering must have been approved by them to do the replica, no? SImilar to what Pur sang does?
Considerin how GTO has a great history original rebuildin 250s n 275s for quite some time now and those very cars being acknowledged by Ferrari as certified classics, I guess they gave the nod/blessin to produce these. GTO engineering have built quite a few "replicas" based on actual chassis numbered cars so that then owner can preserve the actual car and go out n rip the built one at events like Goodwood FOS. Also, these "replicas" are acknowledged by the factory as a Ferrari though it's a car built with a bunch of original parts.
they probably take money from every unit
@@Kyush4 They probably get some sort of a free pass considerin the fact these cars are built and bound to existing 330 n 365 chassis.
Itâs not called a Ferrari and Ferrari has lapsed the patent on the shape and â250 SWBâ (or never had it) - presumably! Although given it has the badge, it must have dispensation.
@@jackspencer5676 I remember it was a similar situation with the modern rendition of the "250 GTO" which was to be built by Ares Design. But they claimed that the 250 GTO, like the Mona Lisa, is a work of art and hence should not be replicated/modernized and sold by anyone other than the creators which is themselves. N surprisingly the court ruled in their favor.

Geez I want one.
Absolutely lovely. I wonder what Ferrari thinks about it? I mean itâs got the badges and everything. Arenât they usually really strict about this kind of thing? Or does it have some form of official blessing?
From memory (on other reviews) itâs actually based on a lesser Ferrari - a 330 I think - so technically itâs a Ferrari with a body kit
News from this week: "Italian luxury sports car maker Ferrari on Thursday won its dispute with a German car design company after Europeâs top court agreed with its arguments that it owns the design right to the appearance of its race-track-ready Ferrari FXX K.
Ferrari had sued Mansory Design in the German court for making and selling these accessories designed to make the Ferrari 488 GTB, which is priced at around $250,000, look like the US$2.6-million Ferrari FXX K, saying the company had violated its rights to the unregistered designs." All this to say that now there is a "legal precedent" that gives Ferrari reason.. so, bodykit or not, it appears that there is not much legal in the product of the video. The only doubt I have left is that, since the video company is an English company, therefore not a European one, maybe they can get away with it

Perfect restomod philosophy! I actually dream that in the future we will have sustainable zero-carbon fuels to power classic cars with the actual ones being in car museums, driven occasionally by the care-takers. With other, less valuable and not so rare cars, belonging in private collections, keeping them going will inevitably involve 3D printing some parts and updating the braking system, tires, lighting etc., so they can be driven regularly on public roads. Probably not in the city due to noise. :-) So personally I don't mind using bikes, public transport and small simple EVs for day to day needs, and just couple of times a month renting a classic for a mountain/seaside road trip or something. :-D
zero carbon emissions and general ignorance criminalizing co2 IS PURE IDIOCY, keep your communist ignorance to yourself please.

Since most of the "multi-million dollar or multi-million ÂŁ" cars seldom see the light of day, if you're looking for a close facsimile that can actually be enjoyed these days, these "revival specials" are the best option around. Compared to $20M to $70M for the real thing, the $500K-$1.5M I've heard quoted is a bargain. Unfortunately, it's still way past my budget but they make a great read!
