Regarding Volgograd Arena: 6:16 "They dug up hundreds of unexploded bombs from WW2 during construction." It is relevant to note Volgograd used to be called Stalingrad, as in "The Battle of Stalingrad (1942-43)." As in, the bloodiest battle in the history of warfare.
Very short but interesting piece. I'm a big fan of the bundesliga so Schalke' stadium is my fave. I'd love to see a match in Indonesia, tho. Scary stuff. I can appreciate the Japanese stadium, also. Hope that chap dodged that bullet. Lol. Cheers, m8!
In danish second tier football, Esbjerg fB has a newly build cozy 18000k stadium. Blue Water Arena it's called, the sponsor "Blue Water" is a shipping company.
Hampden Park in Glasgow were the home of lower tier club Queens Park FC from 1903-2021 as well as being the Scottish National Stadium. Queens Park moved after last Season. Now shares Firhill Stadium with Falkirk while waiting for their training ground Lesser Hampden to be renovated
Been to Volgograd Arena in 2018, and yeah, it's a fun arena. Super modern and the views were fantastic! However, there were some concerns about flooding around it though, as the arena potentially can slide into the Volga River things if escalate and aren't taken care of.
Fun Fact: Veltins Arena was also host to a World Ice Hockey Championship record crowd. In 2010, the USA-Germany preliminary round game drew 77,803 fans. Germany won that game 2-1 in overtime, sending them home happy. The advantage to that retractable turf field is the ability to host events like that without ruining the grass. It's a lot easier to build a temporary ice rink on a concrete floor than on top of a grass field.
You should do a video on the stadiums of the USL Championship (the second tier of American soccer) Bc the stadiums at this level are all very different and a lot of them are former baseball stadiums
You forgot “blue Water arena” in Denmark. for me its the best stadium in Denmark and its also the 4th biggest, but its Home to Esbjerg in the 2nd tier.
Nice one. In France you could have the MMArena of Le Mans playing in the 3rd ligue. The club went bankrupt 2 years after the building of the stadium...
Hey I would like to see a video with stadiums of Latin America or South America (Boca, River Plate, Flamenco, Mineiro, America, Lima, etc ...) Thank you!
Funny little fact. The Stadium of Light; as it is called, actually had it's lights shutoff randomly right in the middle of a game back when Sunderland was still in the Premier League. Foreshadowing perhaps? lol
At least Batakan has a club using it as permanent homebase. Patriot Chandrabhaga stadium has no club using it as homebase, despite being used before as temporary homebase for Indonesia NT, Persija and Bhayangkara.
Kaiserslautern is one of the most traditional german teams, they were German champions in the 90's, they are in the third tier because of financial troubles.
Up until last season, Hampden Park in Glasgow would have been a good choice for this video. Queens Park played there and they average well under 1,000 most of the time and were completely amateur yet played in the national stadium. They are now moving to Lesser Hampden after selling the main stadium to the Scottish FA. PS - Nice to see my clubs home ground make the cut though. Sunderland are half way back to not being eligible for this now🙂
I was really expecting the Sanga Stadium to be on this list because when I first saw it, I was like "Yooooo, this is a J2 Stadium? This looks way too good!" Also you should cover the K-League some time, there are a lot of stadiums there that have "World Cup Stadium" in their name.
Yeah, but Manaus is stuck in our third tier. As long as there isn't a successful club with regular fan support in Amazonas, it will be a white elephant. Same for Mané Garricha, Arena das Dunas and many others.
I just can't begin to fathom why arena das dunas could become a white elephant. I know ABC and américa-RN haven't been in serie A for awhile, but they should still have a fairly large fanbase, and yet, they chose to remain in their old stadiums instead of using the arena. It's just sad
@@andrefiliks it could be the same reason why Náutico came back to their old (but reformed) stadium: their fans just didn't accept the arena and it was hell to get there.
Keep up the good work!!! Do a video on the highest elevation of fútbol stadiums in the world?! Thx ! Like Quito or Mexico City? Many more Perhaps ! Take care

You just had to take a cheap shot at the Gunners, didn't you? As soon as they get rid of Arteta, Edu, the owners and all the deadwood, you'll see.. they'll be back in the top half of the table.
Glad to hear the Moldovan National League listed as one of the world's major leagues
Now that Sheriff have seen off Real Madrid you can see why :)
Left off Louisville City in the USL
