  • Avoid Fresno California at all costs if you're planning on moving here and have not learned enough about the area.
Overall Fresno is a beautiful big small city that offers TONS to do and a very laid back lifestyle. However, there are certain things that could make the town completely undesirable for many.
In this video, we will take a look at the 6 things you need to be able to handle in order to move to our big small city of Fresno California.
Many people will consider these to be major attractions for moving to Fresno California, while others may see them as reasons to stay as far away as they can. Either way, each needs to be carefully considered before deciding to relocate to Fresno CA.
The video may talk about Fresno CA specifically, but it also covers the majority of Fresno County as well. If you're considering moving to Clovis CA or Selma, Sanger, etc. most of the same points apply.
I have tons of people contacting me about moving to Fresno, CA or its surrounding areas and it's great to be able to help all walks of life make the move. Getting relocated is never easy, but with my help, I can make it as pain-free as possible.
If you'd like any help finding a home in these surrounding areas around Fresno, don't hesitate to contact me directly. You can find my information below.
Whether you’re looking to relocate to Fresno from out of the area, already here and looking to move to a different part of town, or just addicted to Fresno and love watching videos about our great big small city, this is the right video for you.
You can also check out my previous videos on the two other areas that I personally consider to be slightly nicer.

I’ll take Fresno over LA or the Bay Area any day. Mountains are less than an hour away, ocean two hours away, freeways that actually work, all the shopping and restaurants that you can stand, houses that are still affordable. It’s a more traditional American city. Lots of churches, but that is ok. Hot summers, yes. But I originally come from the Midwest where the summer humidity is just awful. If you are willing to get out, there is plenty to do around Fresno.

Fresno also has a fantastic nightlife community. There are plenty of bars and clubs; you have ART HOP every month. Furthermore, Fresno has a great dance scene. Fresno has Swing dancing along with many Salsa/Bachata with a smidge of Cumbia and Zouk. I agree being close to everything is excellent. If you like hiking. Go to Pinchusion Peak in Friant. It is a short hike about an hour away from beautiful, but it has an incredible view of the top of the mountain.

In fairness to your point, I think I accidentally saw a drug deal once. I was on an early morning walk around 5 am in the neighborhood behind Fashion Fair Mall. A car pulled up to a house I was walking by. Both the house owner and the driver were watching me with suspicions. Neither of them moved from where they were until I walked down the street past a few more houses.

I moved to Fresno on March 2022 for a job appointment. I was hesitant to accept the job after the bad reviews I read about high crimes and the depressed economy. The truth is that I LOVE it. There are very nice safe neighborhoods in NE Fresno and in Clovis. It has a lot of shopping, good health facilities, and nice local food stores. Homes prices are affordable and people are very nice. The summer is very hot, but it's nice the rest of the year. Fresno is OK as long as you have a good job and live in a nice area

I've lived here nearly my whole life and The North and North-East edges are more like Clovis, which is only about 10% and isn't really considered "Fresno".
North of Herndon is the last 5% left. Beyond the 99 it's mostly rural with a lot of new housing developments, except one bad area near the zoo, highway city. The parts that are most weary are the east and Southeast.
Lots of unique spots and cool people but it's wild here.

Most of the crime I'm familiar with is targeted, [you pissed the wrong group of thugs off or they see a vulnerability] before I moved out of the state I lived in the foothills of madera, then I moved to madera Ranchos. In the mountains it's mostly the natives causing trouble and the young adults robbing houses. When I moved to the Ranchos and frequented fresno more often I noticed alot more gang harassment, ppl following me around town, gangs parking infront of my home. Stuff like that. Also alot of teens who are extremely unpredictable and far from being boyscouts. At least now I don't have to deal with that. Glad it's working out for you. It just didn't work out for me

I have lived here in Fresno since 1957. There is no doubt that it is very hot from mid-May to late October. However, Fresno also has beautiful springs. The NE area (beyond Herndon Ave) is low crime and very suburban. Both NE Fresno and Clovis are part of a unique educational situation. Though in Fresno, the NE is in the Clovis Unified School District which is one of the most competitive districts (especially high schools) in both academics and athletics in Califorrnia. It consistently produces football, wrestling, water polo, and other state DI champions. Its schools also compete at the highest levels in academics (e.g. National Spelling Bee) and the arts. A selling point for the whole NE Fresno/Clovis area are the quality schools. I might add that Fresno State has one of the best athletic programs in California (e.g. it has "owned" UCLA in football for a decade). It is petitioning to join the PAC12.

A tidbit about Fresno and Madera. They were one county early in the 1900s, a meeting was held in Fresno to vote on a split into separate Counties. As the meeting was being held for a vote the Fire Alarm rang and being a volunteer organization the Fresno-ites went to the alarm, Madera aspirants stayed at the meeting and having a quorum voted to split the Counties. Wonder who pulled that alarm seeing as how it was False.

  • @countorringtonludlow5211

I moved to Fresno from Maine in 2001.I hated Fresno and Clovis but I loved the Hispanic community. Maine is very secular and I was not used to being in a Bible belt area. It was disheartning meeting gay/trans teens, who had been rejected by their families over religious reasons. Later on seeing Devin Nunes being from the Valley and getting elected repeatedly, tells you a good amount about the area.
It only rains in the Winter. So the pollution gets trapped in the valley by the surrounding mountains the rest of the year. To the point where you can't actually see the mountains through the smog most days. It's a lame fucking city that made me appreciate my home state properly. It made me appreciate living in a place with boring newspapers. Seeing places like Fresno and Bakersfield will quickly leave someone disillusioned if they think living in CA is all sunshine and chasing dreams.
Everyone remembers how everybody has a story about trying cigs or alcohol in their teens to be daring. In Fresno it's the same way, but with meth. They're either clinging to Bibles or a meth pipe in the valley. 20 going on 50 and looking for salvation that isn't in short supply. Not enough humanity to be found between the waste cases.

Fresno's is a place you get stuck . Different leaders much better chances. Fresno would need a whole overhaul. Look at the police chief for God knows how many years now he's mayor then we have Sheriff Margaret Memes Judges City council spending tax money like it's theirs. Downtown could be great they've gotten the money a few times but have never fixed it. Homeless is crazy all the empty buildings downtown they could open up and have them go stay there . Or that old satellite building downtown live there do some work instead of paying tax dollars to clean up after them and relocate them and then let them sue Fresno . People's tax dollars always paying for something. I I think they should be accountable for their own actions. I think it's time for Fresno too stand up and hold them responsible for their actions. We have let them get away with it way too long. STAND UP FRESNO 😇

Also small fact check at 4:54 "a couple of days of over 100" is misleading at best lmao
Fresno, Madera, Tulare, and Kings County consistently receive 38-42 days of well over 100.

What I see what it look like from 30 years past to present, big change!
First day I moved to Fresno in 30 years ago what I see is:
    Weather:
*cool in full summer (75-85) and real cold in early October, lot of raining, thunderstorms, hails, bad foggy..
    Community town:
*The apartments and houses rent are way cheaper.
*North is rich people and south is poor people, lot of homeless and ghetto.
    *Less crime..
    Present (2022),
    Wow, it’s big change:
    Weather:
*Very hot during summer time,(105-115) and have been very bad drought.. Coldest weather is late November (not much rain and no foggy).
    Community:
*rent or owner houses and rent apartments are very expensive, not cheap anymore! ( likely over 1,000.00 -1,800.00 for one bedroom apt) Not good, lot of people have problem with financial because rent or owner home is high, foods prices are expensive, gas is high prices about $5.99, veterinary is high prices and more.. Terrible! I wanna to move out of California but I have family and my 2 older daughters live here, I’m stuck!
*Very high Tax ( triple tax) Very bad..
    *More crimes..

My God man!! I was born and raised in Fresno for 45 years before I moved out of state. Totally nailed it and is a true video. Yes tats. The Tattoo convention.. a guy did a awesome cover up. YES a cover up. AND I FOUND OUT LATER..he was one of the top coverup artists in THE NATION!! Oh hell I wish I had tipped more. Fresno heat was one main reason why I moved due to health issues. Due to the arid climate you may experience kidney problems because of sweating out all fluids. A Urologist told me Fresno is the kidney stone capital of the world. BUT.. the food is GREAT! Castillos Mexican Restaurant 😍 Dog House Grill, Indian, Armenian, taco trucks etc. are to die for (not really no thats permanent). 80% of my close personal friends are Hispanic decent. Where I moved .. let's just say it's not as friendly. They preach diversity up here but until it comes down to the nitty gritty, and outsider comes in.. just between you and me not true. Traffic moves 100x faster in Fresno and 100x slower here I dont know why, the roads make sense (Until you are where I am you won't get that.) And why TF do people back in??? Crime is attended in the outlying cities except for selective groups, but that's another issue all together. Yes homeless and transients are an issue. And more so here like LA or SF depending on the city. Taxes are way, way, way cheaper here and the state Government is held to what the State Constitution is so one side won't over shadow another. But again another story all together. Fresno was my home and miss it. I will return for my family, friends and food. But health wise was killing me and am happy where I am and it's not killing me.

Also Fresno is probably the best big city in California. We have problems here because we are in California, but, the crime, and problems are not as bad as other parts of the country. Like every else, our community needs to come together to figure out our needs. We have had great policing here, and mostly good leadership, and that needs to continue. And we must keep the democratic agenda out of our county, otherwise like the rest of the country, we will be doomed too.

As a Fresno native it’s my responsibility to tell you… Do not move there! You’ve been warned. Enter at your own peril. Being a native only made me realize I needed to gtfo of there lol. I live in Miami now. Huge difference lol. Never going back. Nope. They lied! The grass is definitely greener on the other side of this fence. 💯

Hmmm, idk how much I can trust a Russian Spy claiming to be a Fresno native. Sounds like planned internal sabotage to me! Haha 😂 jokes aside, I'm glad you found a spot you prefer. I've never lived in Miami, only visited and I can say it was beautiful and the people were great. I personally love Fresno and feel like my grass is pretty damn green

Been there and thru there many many times as I travel between the Bay area and LA and must say that it's terrible, it's not a city for one, though it's residents like to think that it is, if anything I suppose it's a large town. 2, there is nothing pretty about it, it pretty looks very depressed to me, there is nothing sofisticated about it. I Wouldn't move there even if paid to do so. Maybe part of the issue is that when youre a native of either socal or the greater SF Bay area then Fresno just looks like a small dusty town in the central valley of California. No thanks😏

Thanks for sharing your experience! Sounds like you may not have experienced much of Fresno, though, and been only through the areas close to the 99, which would make sense since you're just traveling through. I'd agree with you completely if all I knew were the parts by there. They're not very nice.
Next time, take the detour and come a little further into the city. Get to know the areas that surround River Park and up further North. I'm curious if you'll still think the same about it.

NE Herndon/Blackstone is better than NW. It gets pretty crappy west of blackstone for some distance atleast. I lived in the foothills most of my life until I couldn't stand California politics any longer and wanted to breathe in freedom. I liked the police chief (don't know if she is still the chief) when she encouraged the citizens to carry firearms but I lived in madera County so yeah. At least the law enforcement has some grasp and understanding of the oath they swore
