I have raised my family in Clovis. Been here since1976. Kids went to Clovis high. 10 years apart. I'm from San Francisco originally and moved to Fresno first when in high school. That was a culture shock. You couldn't pry me from this area. Clovis is like the perfect place on the planet. Thank you for your input.

I lived in clovis for 15 years, but now am living in Madrid (yeah big change lol), and you hit it right on the spot with the weather. Clovis/Fresno has great weather with the exception of summers, which are a literal hell. However, Spring, fall, and winter are just the perfect temperatures.
Hey man. I left Clovis, CA in 2012 and moved to Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs destroyed my health and intend to move back sometime time in the next 5 years. I am kind of worried that the housing prices or renting prices are going to be a problem. I loved living in Clovis, CA and it was a great experience. I also went to Buchanan High school. Class of 2009.

Sorry to hear that Colorado Springs has been so harsh to you. That's a valid concern about the prices, though.
In my opinion, housing has not gone up to the extremes that someone living here wouldn't be able to afford. Wages have gone up quite a bit so it's keeping everything fairly in line. It's still no SF or LA.
@@IAmMarkBeneke Cool to hear. I loved that campus. Thanks. Yeah it sucks, I wish I would have stayed in Clovis. I lived around Willow and Herndon and it was great. I hope to eventually live in that area after I come back.
Buchanan is definitely a hell of a school. I'm sure we'll be able to find a way to make it work when you come back!

I'm definitely interested in also moving here and would be interested in hearing about how your friends/family/self felt about routine neighborhood activity like visiting the parks/walking within the neighborhoods/riding bicycles around, ect.

Really, in my 16 years of being in clovis, only problems i got with it is the summer heat (we had multiple 110+ days) and the pricing for houses.

Clovis is a very nice clean city. I’ve been here since 2017. Unfortunately, I have seen open racism here. The other day I saw a white guy taunting a nice Asian family inside the mcdonalds on Herndon and Clovis. He taunted and cursed at them all the way to the parking lot. My black Uber driver friends say that people in Clovis cancel their rides frequently when they see a black driver…

Fresno is too hot in the summer and never want to go down to visit in summer. Summer is the worst season to go too. It’s like in the desert of 115-118

Hey Rolando! No bother at all. Off the top of my head I don't, only the management company that handles my rentals but they focus more on multi-family. I'll make a few calls tomorrow and find some options for you

Visalia and Clovis are the only city with dark history, kkk members and racist people. Clovis is the big brother of Visalia

Hola Dulce! Las dos ciudades son muy similares pero Clovis tiene tendencia de ser visto más afluente y mejor mantenido. La parte Norte de Fresno is idéntica a Clovis, fuera más el sur adónde se nota la diferencia. Si quiere mejores escuelas considerando su hijo, Clovis y la parte Norte de Fresno fueran las mejores opciones.

I'm African American, is this a great place to move to with my daughter? I'm a CA native but SoCal...so i just want more country feeling .... Do you recommend?
Fresno has a big African American community and Clovis does too but nowhere near as large. However, Clovis definitely has more of the country feel you're looking for. I would recommend it, yes, but I'd say to make sure to visit first and spend a little time in both cities to see which community you prefer. I've found that both are very welcoming but everyone has different preferences and lifestyle needs 🙂
Clovis has much better education. If u decide on fresno then hoover, bullard, central (although central school district) r all schools with good diversity. Definitely stay clear of edison, Roosevelt, McClain as these schools r definitely hood. Im not hating it just is what it is
Definitely better schools in Clovis .. property taxes are higher but worth it

It's horrible. It has "valley fever" a local fungal infestation. It's stinking hot. It's over priced.
I would jump on my Swiss Army knife before moving to this crime ridden pit. The local hospital is known as "the knife and gun club".
Don't move to Clovis, it's just bad.

Fascinating, though, I've never heard anyone refer to Clovis as a crime ridden pit nor Clovis Community as the knife and gun club but maybe I just don't listen enough 😂 price is relative, so for you that doesn't like the area, makes sense why you'd think it's overpriced even though it's a number times more affordable than most of California. Yes, we do have valley fever, and so does a large part of Southwest US, Mexico, South America, etc. It's not just local to this area.
Good on you for making a choice, though! For the rest of us, we'lll continue to live and love Clovis

Lived here since 1974,, grew up here. Ur missing a lot Re actuality of the engrained aspect of its either the clovis way, or no way. The status quo will fight you to the death 🤷🏾. Most resent city council election is the most recent example.
