    Nice ! I see you have the slanted license plate holder on the back. I assume it works well with the detachable tour pack conversion ? I don't really want to move my license plate under my tail light either.
    I just finished fixing the hard wire making it detachable on my 08 Ultra classic. I have both kits I'm going to install
    tomorrow. Everything has been pretty easy so far. Hopefully
    it will go well tomorrow also . 😊

    Thanks a lot. Where a detachable rack goes? Rear or front mount?

      The tour pack (big trunk) goes on the rear mounts, the simple backrest goes on the front mounts.

    After watching this I have to say Thank you. I thought the mounts for the back rest could be used for the tour pak. Obviously that is not the case. Im going to have to figure this out one step at a time. I have the tour pak but it did not come with any mounting hardware. I ordered the bracket that is supposed to mount the tour pak but I was under the assumption I could attach to the same mounting posts that is used by the back rest....Uggh..

      I thought the same thing at first, but the tourpack mounts to the rear mounts and the back rest goes on the front mounts.

      @@randomwrenching Yeah, I just figured that out with your help....So I ordered the mounting hardware to bolt on. Stupid design, they should have designed a complete integrated system. One set of mounts on the bike that you can swap anything you want to put on....NOT HARLEY......The only company I know that processes one thought at a time...does a shit job and then moves on to the next misguided thought....Ugggh....

    Whats the plate mount? Link? Thanks

    • @randomwrenching
      @randomwrenching  Před 3 lety +1

      It is the factory plate mount that I modified. I just drilled holes that would let the plate lean at the angle I wanted.

      @@randomwrenching will a factory back rest work with a quick dock kit? I'd need the spring loaded units I assume. I'd like to be able to remove my back rest and rack on demand. 01 RK

      @@TKO-NY To be fair, I got this bike used and it may actually be an aftermarket mount. But it was sitting straight up, and I didn't like it.

      @@TKO-NY The docking kits I used are OEM Harley parts. I have an OEM Harley detachable passenger backrest, they work fine together.

      Very rare Suede green pearl metallic and black. Right around 540 units were painted like this, and that includes all the Harley models, not just baggers.
