I just woke up from a dream where my dad and I were screaming at each other for what felt like hours. He passed away 15 years ago but that felt crystal clear and I kinda needed this song again today

All the time
At the end of last year my mum, little brother and I left our abusive husband/father to make our way on our own. It’s been really tough at times but even through all the difficulties we have been so much better off without him. The Sunset Tree has been my soundtrack throughout this long and hard journey and I am so grateful to John for making this beautiful music that means so much to me and many others. I live in Australia and am waiting so desperately for the day you come back and tour here; in my dreams I am standing in a crowd singing along to mountain goats songs and it is beautiful and healing.
I’m very lucky to live in the US where they tour often-going to see them live always feels like coming home in the best of ways. I hope you can see them live again one day, and that it feels like coming home for you too.
I'm also in Australia and am patiently waiting for the day I get to sing along to The Sunset Tree in person. It's a very special album for me also!
