Sid James IS a total legend. Watching him on shows like this.. he makes me laugh before he even utters a word. I am a difficult person to make laugh and Sid James makes me laugh every time. Wish there was more guys as good as him now, especially in comedy.
Fact about Joker's Wild, this show although made by Yorkshire Television was filmed at the Tyne Tees studios in Newcastle as at that time both Yorkshire Television & Tyne Tees Television were owned by Trident Television.
I wonder if this particular Joker's Wild could be reworked into a game of definitions like the US version was. Probably not, but it would be funny to hear about them trying to. :-)
David Jason was born in North London and made a good living playing a South Londoner. But he's not a cockney. Oh, btw Joe Brown was born in Lincolnshire.

Some of the music they used for the Are you Being Served film later turned up in some German hardcore porn...I think it was from some non-copyright music company..
The trainer gives the horse a lump of sugar and the racecourse steward sees this and says"what was that" the trainer says "it was only a lump of sugar,look i'll eat one and you can as well".So the steward is satisfied and leaves,the trainer says to the jockey"hold the horse back until the last furlong and then let him go,nobody will pass you.If anyone does it'll be me or that steward.
andy elliott I've found out, by seeing CZcams items I saw in my younger days, that my memory of things is often jumbled up. I remember the joke as being different to what you mention, but maybe my memory's distorted the facts again!

Wow! Was searching for clips of the American quizzer "The Joker's Wild" and stumbled across this. I do miss panel games on this side of the pond!

Sid james was never a comedian. He was a brilliant comic actor. He really needed lines written for him to be funny . He was not the best improviser.
