A great way to use this is to use a folding stock, and a 6 dart and an 18 dart mag. You can then use it to adapt from a run and gun smg to a long range assault rifle.
I just tried this with the Spectre stock and it looks great, very long though. My thoughts would be a 35-dart drum (from the clear series Raider 👍) and the Scravenger stock + double jolt. Could add the modulus beam targeter FTW 😃
Imagine how cool this would look with opaque external parts with clear parts for the LEDs to show through.

I definitely prefer the Evader. Owning both, I prefer the ergonomics on the Evader a lot more. I like grips that are built in, because when I use attached ones, I find myself pushing it off all the time. Clear blasters are my favorite, because being able to see how they work without disassembling and potentially ruining a blaster is cool (I ruined an entire Rapidstrike) . Although the Stryfe is arguably one of the best Nerf blasters because of the small size, ergonomics, all of the potential combos, and of course, flywheel master race, the Evader has definitely become my favorite Nerf blaster (besides the Deploy ;)). Thank you for such another reliable and amazing review, Frank.
I found an evader at goodwill. Sadly, it didn’t come with the magazine well that is detached for shipping purposes so I had to order one online but it did come with the suppressor. I do agree that the evader is a excellent blaster.

I just noticed how helpful this would be.
You can tell its jammed before even firing and you know when the magazine is full without counting every single dart and doing it too slow while your about to die.

If I didn't already have a Regulator that covers both semi and full, and if I had extra money to spare, then I'd totally get the Evader. Looks pretty damn cool and fires well. Eager to see what they'll do for the Ghost Ops series, as well as your eventual Combo vids and VS vids on the Evader.
Also eager to see your eventual Thunderhawk review and your opinion on it, since so far the consensus on it...ain't pretty.

I think the only reasons to stick with a Stryfe are 1) it's smaller, and 2) it's cheaper.

Mostly the magazine orientation, the the prevalence of aftermarket kit for the stryfe. I would love to do some painting and lighting stuff on the Evader though- the clear shell allows for some fun design choices.

hey, im looking for some advice. i love nerf guns and have some pretty awesome ones but i recently lost the use of my right arm. the thing is my guns are all big. i am trying to work out how to make a gun rest, (bear in mind i am also in an electric wheelchair) any tips? i have an old tripod im thinking i could use.
Hi, my initial thoughts would be the Vulcan or RhinoFire. These both come with tripods and could be used single-handed. Rhino Fire is probably the better bet as loading the Vulcans belt may be difficult. Hope this helps
BATTLE WHEELCHAIR would be so cool. the Rhinofire would likely be the right blaster for that, and it adds so much to the intimidation factor.
It's as if the Raider and Stryfe had a child, but it died with the Raider, until Hasbro used some voodoo to revive the young blaster.

Going to snag the Evader myself.
Not throwing the Stryfe(s) away, but I've never really appreciated the lopsided look or feel of the Stryfe, even more so when it's laden with attachments versus just running it as a pistol or maybe with just a stock. Even those attachments that match, like the spectre barrel, tend to take away from the overall aesthetic of the Stryfe with that thin, angular, non-flowing front end.
Though, if I were only to have one and only one blaster, of course it would be the Stryfe, as it truly is the most jack-of-all-trades option, and remains so to this day. It's what I give as a gift, and it's always my first recommendation to a new Nerfer or modifier.
That said, if I feel like running a shoulder-fired semi auto flywheel blaster with barrel attachment, barrel drag argument aside, I tend to reach for the Rayven. If I want to run a pistol secondary, I tend to reach for the Barricade with it's load-on-the-go cylinder. This is of course in stock form, as my minimized stryfe is a little beasty and makes for a mean James Bond Fast N Light play style.
In my opinion the Evader represents a one size fits all option, and while it's quirks may not be fully appreciated by everyone, like the left-side-ways mag well (sorry wrong-handed folks) it definitely appears to bring an effective package to the table for everyone, from the youngest nerfer to the oldest... unless you're a lefty. Still I may reach for my CAM ECS, as it's blaster shell perfection, but I can see myself using the Evader, or at least buying it for the boy so I can 'borrow' it some times.
Plus, my mind is awash with modification ideas. Can't wait to get my hands on it and the Chrono barrel. Thanks Coop.

Now we can get the clear 12 round mag for the youngsters that like the 18 round clear stick mags but they are too long for them to hold in gears, and some like the 12 round opaque ones but they are complaining that they are not painted clear, and this actually solves it!
Also, I think Hasbro released the Ghost Ops series because the Zombie Strike series killed the Modulus series so it turned into a ghost and somehow "reincarnated" with the Zombie Strike series by having tactics

Answering to your question I would stick to the stryfe, not only for the price point, because its a much better platform to build any type of blaster you'll like. Also there are hundreds of 3d printed kits for the stryfe that arent for the evader. In conclusion, the stryfe is cheaper, allows you to change it anyway you could possibly like and there are a bunch of kits out there for it. Love u so much :)

If you can mod the stryfe then I would go for the stryfe, but since I can't mod, I would rather go for something bigger thatdoesn't normally lock when I pew pew than a smaller one that locks up constantly
Z-Axis I see your point, but modding a stryfe is so simple, and removing the lock is Just taking out all screws and Just take it out, its so simple that you dont need to be a modder to do it. If you talk about the form factor, that's completly subjective and each individual has different opinions. Taking about the smothness of the blaster, If you Just take out all screws of the stryfe and with a paper you apply a little bit of oíl on moving parts, you'll achive a huge smothness on the mechanism and on the trigger pull, but If you want a blaster to take out of the box and play and you also like the form factor of this gun, definitly go for it

I personally prefer the Stryfe because I am a left handed shooter so a vertical mag is easier for me to use my off hand on.
I'm also left handed, but I think it's not a big issue. I use the Mediator, which is side loading. You just turn it sideways like you were pulling a charging handle on an AK.
I hate clear stuff though.

I like the more traditional mag location on the stryfe but I have both blasters
I just got this for my son and he loves it. Just a note for parents though, if your kid is small (my 9 year old is), it’s a little difficult for them to hold it since it’s kind of bulky. He got the hang of it but t took a little practice.

I think the evader is amazing although in CQB you might hit the mag in to door frames but in nerf wars out side it’s amazing
