    Just going to briefly comment as I watch about the Star Wars boxes, and I'm sure you're already quite aware but maybe people in the comments are not, but that is a brand decision by Disney and Lucasfilm before them. This style of box art goes beyond Hot Toys to older Sideshows, Kotobukiya, Gentle Giant, etc. So it's not that Hot Toys specifically is dropping the ball on these art designs, but this is the way that Star Wars material is required to be so that all of the boxes from every company are cohesive and uniform. Looking briefly at your channel, I see a lot of content I would be interested in and to see updates in the future. Consider me subscribed.

    The most annoying thing about Hot Toys for me is seeing the same Franchises and doing the same Characters, over and over again , the Golden days of Hot Toys is long gone now when we use to get different franchises and that's what made Hot Toys interesting, not anymore.

    Oh man, let's see here...Laziness on the bases (like the footprint one with SW figs), The "Reissue Mark 46" guy on every Hot Toys photo, no flight stands for some figures (MK 47 and WM Mk 4) who require them. I think my biggest problem with Hot Toys is their lack of communication with their consumers. If they update a HS, Update us ASAP, not when you release it, otherwise they risk having mass cancellations. Leaving us hanging on those "coming soon" figures too, just rip off the band-aid, let us know yes or no.

    6 years ago the glory days ended for Hot toys collectors.
    Scalping ruined it , deliberate inaccuracies so they can do later rereleases, and Iron Man after iron man after iron man.
    Also now there are videos offering market price tips encouraging scalping. That is the worst part of collecting Hot Toys

  • @dlpi9212
    @dlpi9212 Před 3 lety +6

    Hey man, love your pleasant way of speaking. I've been collecting for about 10 or 15 years- believe it or not, there didn't used to be a 'wait' time. I can't speak to non-Star Wars items, but they were usually posted for sale and available immediately. If I remember correctly, the first time I recall seeing some sort of delay was for the bounty hunters that SIdeshow offered. I think they were paced a few months apart. I might be remembering incorrectly. EIther way, wait times were nowhere as long as they are now.
    The most annoying thing about Hot Toys for me is the 'blank stare' on the head sculpts.
    I personally don't mind the batteries, but I don't want to think about having to replace them and then forgetting about them, only to have them corrode a few months later.

    • @KeCoCollects

  • @SverreSA
    @SverreSA Před 3 lety +5

    Great points! Even worse than waiting for the figures' estinated release dates is when Hot Toys choose to delay them even beyond the estimates. The most notorious example of this must be the Endgame line where we are still waiting for figures like BD Mark 85 more than 2 years after the film came out. That's the real hype-killer! I think not worrying so much about pre-orders but trying to release the figures no more than a couple of months the after the films release would prevent over-encumbering Hot Toys' supply line and be a wise strategy in the long run

    Ok.
    The most annoying things for me personally:
    1. The prices here in Europe !
    Everything is almost double than the prices in Usa.
    Why ?
    There is a way for Hot Toys to control the prices here and to make them a little bit more equal.
    2. Bad quality control.
    Those figures are many things, but cheap they are not.
    I expected much better quality control or at least, better glue.
    3. Lack of premium materials !!!
    Paying 460€ for Mark47 die cast and discovering, that all of the parts are mainly plastic including the chest and the face plate doesn't make me happy at all.
    On top of that I don't speak about some nice polycarbonate material, I am talking about the cheapest plastic possible.
    + as bonus some glue issues.
    4. WHAT is the point one figure to be so crazy articulated, if the material doesn't allow to pose that figure at all ?
    I am talking specifically about most of the Spider-Mans.
    Of course everything what I wrote it's my personal opinion !

    I recently subscribed to your channel, and I enjoy it. You have good information with a concrete dialog. My concern would be the hand options. Some figures come with more hands than others, and I would purchase additional hand gestures as an accessory pack. They did that with the recent end game captain America

    As a SW and MCU collector, easily no.1 would be the use of pleather (sculpted plastic easily better in most cases) and no.2 Hottoys crashing the market with "re-issues" (and/or version "2.0") which is a double-edged sword. If these 2 issues were solved, a lot of collectors would be much happier.
