2017 Polaris Sportsman 450 H.O. Instrument Cluster walk through. I found the owners manual was lacking when it came to the different modes and descriptions.
This video helped a ton 🙏🏻 On my UTV there’s a little yellow button on the side of the speedometer but on my ATVs there’s nothing so I was super confused. That makes sense though, thanks!
I believe you were correct when you said total hours on the vehicle of 3.1 (hourglass display), but then you incorrectly said in the next setting (hourglass plus wrench) that this was remaining miles. Instead it would be remaining hours. Any time the miles is referenced you can see the "mi" indicator below the number, and it doesn't show that with the 46.9, so it's 3.1 hours used, 46.9 hours remaining until service, total of 50 hours.
Make sure your ATV is not in Reverse while doing this!!!!!! Turn the key to the ON position. Use the MODE button to toggle to the odometer display. 2. Press and hold the MODE button until the hour segment flashes. Release the button. 3. With the segment flashing, tap the MODE button to advance to the desired hour setting. 4. Press and hold the MODE button until the next segment flashes. Release the button. 5. Repeat steps 3-4 twice to set the 10-minute and 1-minute segments. After completing the 1-minute segment, step 4 will save the new settings and exit the clock mode. 6. Turn the key to the OFF position.
Great video about time someone made one...just wondering..mine is the same as yours but a 2014...but if it's a analog speed display how can you change it to kms?? Thx...🍻🍻
@Lou yes that's a great video and it helped me to change it when I first bought it but....I am wondering about the analog speed odometer display...manual says the SPEED can be displayed in kms or miles but that's impossible ifs its an analog display
Mine was already set to MPH. But here are instructions from the owners manual page 42:Display Units (Standard/Metric)The display can be changed to display either standard or metric units of measurement. Tip: To exit the set-up mode at any time, wait 10 seconds. The display automatically exits and returns to the odometer display. 1. Turn the key to the OFF position. 2. Place the transmission in neutral. 3. Press and hold the MODE button while turning the key to the ON position. 4. When the display flashes the distance setting, tap the MODE button to advance to the desired setting. 5. Press and hold the MODE button to save the setting and advance to the next display option. 6. Repeat the procedure to change remaining display settings
Ronda Skinner Go to the ODOMETER mileage reading (not the trip) and hold the REVERSE/OVERRIDE button down until the clock starts blinking. You can toggle through time from there .
Stewart Cloutier Not sure what you are referring too. On my shifter I have H,L,N,R,P. It reflects these same letters on display depending which one I’m in. None display as LO. maybe take a pic?
Is there supposed to be a heat shield on the right hand side near where the riders right leg is supposed to go. I find when I am riding it gets really hot. I noticed there is a service advisory for the 2017 model to correct this problem.
Stewart Cloutier My machine did not come with the heat shield but I took it in when the advisory came out and they installed for free. It was very hot for me too. I ride at slower speeds so it got pretty hot. Heat shield fixed the problem.
for some reason my temperature only says 80 to 90 degrees when I'm out riding it and I know that used to say 174 so am I on Celsius and not Fahrenheit. How do I switch that up
Shawn Crandall Oh man I’m on vacay and away from my machine to figure it out. But try this: With the ATV off press and hold reverse/override button while turning key to ON (Not staring ATV just to ON). See if you can got through settings there and find temp. Let me know.
Does it crank and start? If so then thinking it’s a false display read out. I had to replace my voltage regulator when the volts were running 10-11 with engine running. Zero volts probably bad battery or bad stator. Hope you figure it out 👍🏼

Nice! I just picked up the 2017 Sportsman 450 HO Utility Edition. I looked all through the manual with no help on this. Thanks.
Joe Mamma Thanks. I really like the front bumper on your utility edition so much I got one for mine. Happy riding!
Dooooooooood! Thank you.

Weird. I have a 2015 850 and I don't get any temperature displays. Neither does my buddy who has a 2019 1000 highlighter. Same looking gauge.
Very weird. But awesome machines. Ride safe 👍🏽

Ronda Skinner Go to the ODOMETER mileage reading (not the trip) and hold the REVERSE/OVERRIDE button down until the clock starts blinking. You can toggle through time from there
.
I figured it out Yeah
Right next to the shift indicator , where it says D for drive sometimes it comes up with LO. what does the LO mean?
Stewart Cloutier Not sure what you are referring too. On my shifter I have H,L,N,R,P. It reflects these same letters on display depending which one I’m in. None display as LO. maybe take a pic?
Stewart Cloutier the lo means the battery voltage is low

how do you set the clock?
Hey, here is my video to set the clock. Very easy. What machine you have?
czcams.com/video/K-_wnS4mNEs/video.html
I have a 2016 It stopped displaying the gear selection. Any idea how to get that back?
Sorry I don’t know how to recover that. Maybe disconnect battery for a few minutes and reconnect. Good luck and keep me updated if you figure out.
My display is showing 0V ? does that mean it snot generating voltage ??
Does it crank and start? If so then thinking it’s a false display read out.

@@ljonesto Thanks LOu it was a loose cable !
@@yukonheart Best case there 👍🏼
How do u set the engine temp through the settings?
Do you mean the temp the fan turns on?
@@ljonesto no the temp for the engine, or the radiator
@@americafuntimefoxyporter5478 You want to change Fahrenheit to Celsius or Celsius to Fahrenheit?
My 2016 is stuck on MPH for the life of me i cant get it to MPH....any advice?
Mike Davis have you tried disconnecting your battery for about 10 minutes and reconnect? Might reset the ECU and allow you to switch it. Good luck 👍🏽
Mike Davis also did you see post in this thread that shows instructions to change from mph to km/h?
I have a 2018 scrambler how come mine doesn’t show temp and battery
SCRAMMY 850 not sure Scrammy. Maybe because yours is a performance machine and mine a Utility.
Gotcha thanks!
