To everyone in the comments, it's obvious that he's dead. Even in Master Kohga's entry it's mentioned he's getting revenge "For his fallen friends". We can assume this is Sooga. Especially when Kohga is protective of him in the last scene he's present.
But in the 2nd credits he literally appears, just because Kohga thinks someone is dead doesn't mean they are dead and it is actually a REALLY common trope where someone might get revenge for their fallen ally who died off screen... only for them to show up again.
Sooga is the most skilled yiga member, so I think it's possible that he might also know Koga's cloning technique. That, and the second credits, are giving me the hope that he survived the battle by using a clone but got hurt badly. So he had to recover somewhere, unable to talk to koga for some time and making him think Sooga died, but later recovered enough to actually make it back to the yiga. I heard that there is a special line when you use Koga for the final battle something like "Sooga watching from the sky/clouds" but I still have to use Koga for the final battle. After finishing my poop collection for the 100% xD
If Astor and Sooga are added as playable fighters, I hope when you select either with the other already selected in the pre-game character select, it goes something like, Astor: ‘I thought I... Ended you...’ Sooga: ‘You’ll have to try harder than that. But for now, let us turn our attention to the matter at hand.’
The dlc shows a lot of this, Sooga joined the yiga clan to repay master Kohga because Sooga needed food. At the end of him he says “Have I relayed you now kohga” it was sad for me
You know when the screen cut to black I honestly thought that we were gonna play as Sooga and Kogha fighting against Astor. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN AWESOME!!! Also Sooga is the only duel wielding character and we didn't get to play as him so... I mean if your gonna not let us play as Sooga can we at least get Urbosa duel wielding cutlasses like the N64 Gerudo do?
@@wildreamer2508 I love it too but I don't think the timelines match up. Like lets be generous and say Sooga and Impa are the same age in Age of Calamity, this would make them the same age in Breath of the Wild as well and look how old Impa looks compared to Dorian. And this is being generous, I think Sooga seems older than Impa as Impa looks to be the same age as Link and Zelda, 17 (no older than 21 to me). Sooga on the other hand seems older than that but admit that there is no evidence of his ahe since we don't see him without the mask. But also in Breath of the Wild he has two kids, both younger than 10 and it feels weird that a over 100 year old man would be having kids.
I agree completely but also take into account Master Kogha. He's good and spry in age of calamity, but he's also good and spry in breath of the wild. Its a theory of mine that the yiga have had their lifespans increase because of their defection to ganon. As you said Sooga seems to be older than impa and if he swears allegiance to kogha that means there's a good possibility that kogha is older. It seems possible that he's still able to have kids if that's the case. The olny thing i'd like to know is how his wife got him to turn from the yiga
@@wildreamer2508 I mean there is little evidence to support they would get an increased lifespan due to allegiance to Ganon, it seems more head canon esc. But it does sorta give the theory more to stand on if that is true
@@broshow4681 I don't know bc by then he would be to week to be a boss and with master koga dead he will most likely be to old to fight and be a easy boss like master koga or just straight up dead of old age or suicide for master koga's death.
The more likely scenario is that Sooga is alive, and the reason for his disappearance is quite well explained as soon as you ask yourself a simple question: "If Kohga is fighting on the front lines as part of the Hyrulean Army... who is managing the entire Yiga Clan in his place?" And the answer is obvious: 'Sooga, Kohga's right hand man and lackey #1'.
@@thx4chrckingin A fair question, and one that I'll answer: Kohga is still the leader of the Yiga Clan without question... but it's safe to assume that he's not having his entire clan fight alongside him. Afterall, like most of the other races in the Hyrulean Army, they too have a home they need to protect. In my supposed scenario, Sooga would be in charge of defending the Yiga Clan's home base, and thus not be seen on the front lines until their final push.
That's the same thought that I had. Kohga is the rep for the Yiga Clan. So I feel like in the other cut scenes, there wouldn't be a need to show Kohga AND Sooga. Plus when you get Kohga, you do get Sooga as an ally in the gallery. You just can't play him. I feel like that wouldn't have happened if Sooga actually did die. Because everyone else in the gallery is very well alive.
No doubt Sooga bit the dust, as even though Astor showed up, we literally seen him get devoured by Harbinger Gannon so he's no doubt dead. Those post missions are most likely uncannon. But with one of the 1st DLC missions focus being the villains and we see more dialogue and stuff from both Sooga and Astor, no doubt they'll most likely be the next characters in DLC 2. I REALLY hope we get a villain themed DLC with these two.
Personally I think he died there. What with all of Kogha’s implications and any scene after which he shows up is of dubious canonicity. He could barely move anymore, he was surrounded by all 4 Blight Ganon variants and there was no help on the way nor a macguffin like Rhoam’s Ancient Shield to get him out of there.
I like to come up with my own storylines for battles, and backstories for characters. Disregarding that his skin tone is light colored in the cutscene in the dlc, I know there's absolutely nothing to suggest this but I like to think he was childhood friends with Urbosa. She stopped guards from killing him because he stole bread as a kid because he had no income and because he was a Voe (in my version they don't let Voe become king anymore because of Ganon). And her mother didn't like that but played along for like a decade. But when Urbosa had to leave for royal schooling in another Gerudo village, her mother had her guards kick him out. (See part 2 as the comment)
And that's how he came across the Yiga. To me it kinda seems like in the few cutscenes they're in together, Sooga never actually fights Urbosa. Yes he's a thinker and not a fight just for the sake of it, but I like to think of it as that it's because they were friends and he was scared of most Vai but didn't want to fight her. So that's the short, comment-section-lengthed version of the story. Yes I do fanfictions but haven't put this one into word form yet.
So even just off of the base game. He’s definitely dead so 1st. Astor is killing all of the Yiga 2nd. Master Kohga and Sooga get angry at this (Also I was surprised to see Master Kohga actually caring about the Yiga soldiers) 3rd. Astor summons the Blights to kill Master Kohga and Sooga 4th. Sooga tells Kohga to run 5th. We see Kohga on his knees begging to get revenge on Astor for killing his right-hand man. So yeah definitely happened.
Something really big... is in the 2nd credits (When you repair Terrako) one of the Yiga members you see him meet in that weird art style they use is Sooga. It has his very distinct headpiece and is rather odd for Terrako to meet in any capacity in the credits. The sad truth of this is... Sooga was cut from the base game as it was rushed out. There were files found which implied Sooga, Purah, and Robbie were playable characters which means Kohga's plotline is unfinished and will likely be sold back to the player as DLC making Age of Calamity an incomplete product. To add more to this... with the recent DLC it simply added content to flesh out the last 20 levels you could cover in the base game and let you change hidden seals. It is rather unfortunate this game was rushed out and being sold back to us the parts they skipped out on.
So you're saying that Sooga should've appeared in the base game. But, due to the game having no time until launch, they instead turns it into the DLC Wave 2? I'm extremely disappointed and mad mixed. The game would've been much bigger. And the fact that we have to pay 20 dollars for an 'already meant to be in the base game' content and it's just a wee-bit content.
