Tongue & Groove Effect Panelling

  • In this video I show a way to create a tongue & groove effect on a plywood panel that I made for my bath. This was the trial run for using it for the wall panels in my next camper conversion.
    This method can be done instead of using actual tongue and groove cladding for ease of install and. Plywood is also less susceptible to splitting coming with pine tongue and groove and is also better at holding screws.
    It's a relatively simple method that can be done with a router and 90 degree angle router bit.
    You could use plywood or mdf. Mdf will provice a better paint finish but plywood is more durable and less likely to soak up water.

    Think your guide could do with being at least the width of the workpiece. Too likely to pivot around the end of the guide at the end of the cut
