Larry Larson’s 3000hp Truck DOMINATES 1200 Mile Race!!!

- Larry Larson - One of the most INSANE street car racers in the world DOES IT AGAIN, taking home $15,000 Larson currently holds the record for the fastest licensed vehicle in the world at a staggering 5.95 in the 1/4 mile! Lucky for us, we were able to follow Larson through the trials and tribulations of Rocky Mountain Race Week 2015! Drivers and their street cars are put to the test by driving over 1200 miles through the Rocky Mountains racing at 4 different tracks on 5 days!
Larson’s S10 is a MONSTER, especially to see driving down the street, the truck is equipped with a 620ci Brodix block & heads from ProLine, TWIN 98mm Turbos and shifted with a Rossler TH400 with a Gear Vendors Overdrive to help maintain decent gas mileage on the road trip. This combination helped him put yet another title under his belt at Rock Mountain Race Week.

Larry Larson seems like a cool guy. The type that would help you move for a case of beer.
MaximumHeresy and then drink the beers with you lol
got the same vibe in this video to
+MaximumHteresy he is that cool plus he's gone down the strip in 5 seconds in that S 10 which makes him pretty unique since I don't know of many 5 second quarter mile pick ups out there probably because there aint many.
+bud385 well i can tell you there aint any other 5 second road legal car. Lutz in his promod camaro last year got pretty close if i remember right but it was low 6's.
Patrick Pelletier except he's done 5s now
Seeing a full on drag truck with mirriors is wierd... But the fact that its street legal and pulls its own race trailer is AWESOME!
I love how the fastest street car in the country drove over 1000 miles from track to track, not trailer queened around!
Don't know why but I couldn't stop looking at those exhaust running boards!
Thanx for posting this ,,,,Don't care what anybody says, Mr. Larson is my hero doing what he does with that truck, and having fun with it.....
America is a special place. Only country in the world where you're going to see a blown out 3000bhp truck cruising on the highway.
+Sic Fuc - oh no, not at all. The place is like Disneyland for adults. Every time I visit I love it more and more.
+Sic Fuc
I'm from South Africa.
+Jonathan B The only country where Endurance Drag Racing is a thing.
actually turbocharged not blown. his Nova used to be blown until he went to turbos. he hasnt looked back since it seems.
Well hell brother you gotta check out what they do in sweden! Lol
Runs 5 second 1/4's, gets gas at a Shell.
Runs alcohol on track
I'd say hes running a split fuel cell setup. One for cruising (gas) and the other for racing in which he uses alcohol
2 different fuel tanks

So is that wut I’m doing wrong
Truly enjoyed the video. Well done.
Thank you sir! Glad you enjoyed it!
+1320video
same here. well done!
1320video That was fucking awesome! Larry's my drag racing hero too!
+PorschephileRS they live in Nebraska I'm a town over in Iowa
The RMR isn't a "race". It's a "rally" and won by points, not by top speed. You should have known.
Anyone can make a fast drag car with enough money but making one that can do a road trip and still race at the end of it is impressive as hell.
I love these videos where you "get to know" the driver abit more. And get behind the scene. Larry Larson is such an amazing guy, with an even more amazing car. Thanks for the upload
Larry is a bad ass, no doubt about it. Great coverage!
I love Larry hes a self taught person and he's a down to earth guy , he doesn't have a ego, he's a humble guy !!!!!!
Great vid, I'd be too tempted to run people on the interstate with the trailer lol
DerekTokesPurp I agree!
problem is that those single axle trailers with those skinny tires dont take much to start weaving side to side. and as light as they may be they would send a truck like a 1500 out of control eventually if they didnt get it under control. it would be fun to see though if some people try to line up with him on the road.
He probably doesnt do it because he already knows hes the fastest
Man I never met Larry in person but he sure as hell seems like one cool and smart guy! Somebody buy this man a beer for me hahahaha.
1320 that was the best footage you released of this event so far! must be nice being on a first name basis with larry! lol i want your job hahaha
Nick Sawyer We appreciate your support sir!
Aboslutely hey question though where do i get one of your shirts?
Cockslanger You seem to know exactly how that works so we'll all take your word for it.
Nice feature video. No hype or unnecessary drama. Just two guys out for a drive. So chill and so consistently fast.
These guys are dialed.
When you can add weight and probably dial back and still win, that speaks volumes!
Listening to Larry's knowledge on turbo motors for years taught me heat management is "THE" thing you must be in control all the time ,to be the boss of that engine bay...!!
Larry seems like a really down to earth guy. Considering what he's achieved, you could expect an ego, but nope. Just does his thing.
the man is truly awesome. He is
my hero.
@@thomasrutherford7118 A lot of people are saying that , he must of done a few things right in his time and influenced a bunch of people.
Larry Is The Man! Pure mad genius, he deserves to have a whole lot of stuff named after him, anything under 200 mph is a disappointment. Keep killing it and love the Larry vids.
awesome video. lots of respect for this guy awesome job
Great video. Awesome guy. Sweet truck. I wish his team the best.
I'll tell you what. I'm subscribed to a bunch of channels and this one puts up content as good as any. Really good stuff, man. Quality videos and good conversations with cool car people. This particular video has both in spades.
Nothing but respect for this guy and his crew. That is true dedication to a sport.
I met him in person and bought a shirt from him to support his efforts. Super cool, chill AF, just a badass human being.
see how he acually drive the car on the street.
unlike those GTRS that claim full weight or has AC, yet pulls out of a trailer for events.
That's the coolest thing I've ever seen driving his truck all around the country and racing it., Most guys put that much money into a build they only drive it on track afraid to break something lol. This guy is so cool! First time hearing of him and I'm already a fan 😎👍
Been hearing these beasts everynight hear in Morrison, love Colorado and Bandimere.
that moment when the turbos start spinning.. love it!
thank u 1320 for putting the best vids on u guys do good work keep em coming
Amazing what they give up and go through to pack as much power in to a machine. Awesome video.
The rearward looking footage starting at 9:06 is really the first good view of how fast these cars are accelerating and finishing the race at.
Kyle thank you for a great video and I'd like to put a special thank you to Larry Larson what a stand up guy he let you interview him all the time he's honest about everything just a good up straight dude and I'm glad he holds the records that he does nobody deserves it more than him good job Larry good job Kyle in 1320
this is why i vote Larry to have the baddest car on the face of the earth. this man will drive his truck across the country to different tracks pull up to the tree and put down and 200mph+ pass! who else can do that???? very few.....
A real racing God.
Good video btw.
So is this "Grandpa Dave"? This guy's truck would make him Daddy Daves, Daddy!!!! Absolutely amazing truck and driver!!! Nothing but respect!
Daddy Dave might need that truck back until he figures out what to do with Goliath lol
+zp1944 it's propobly only going to take home a few weeks to a month to fix
The engine looked pretty decent from the photos still, but who knows what kind of condition the roll cage is in. It would surely need to be refabricated and certified. Also its gonna need a lot of body work along with chassis parts replacement. Id say a lot longer than just a few weeks to a month. I say many months of hard work to get it really beautiful and race worthy again....
proline has twins seems alot like murder novas set up)
+Dc Ob Yea i know!! This trucks something else. It's insane
That's a damn impressive car this guys got. Thing performed and stay together through out that whole trip.
Much respect to this guy and his crew
awesome video. do some more features like this one.
another great video guys.
hell yeah ! what a solid chevy setup!
credit to all those guys that do this. it takes a lot of time, patience, bloody knuckles, and sweat to do what they do. credit to everyone who does this.
Most of these guys seem to be pretty good sports about the quick interviews and having your cameras on their vehicles. Interesting and cool.
totally awesome street truck!!
another one of my hero's at work.
Pueblo Colorado native here glad too see it included :D
The whole concept is amazing. That fast and still streetable.
Amazing truck. Larry is the real king of the streets.
GREAT FOOTAGE...
Such a badass truck!
I luv them little shops by pine Junction good camping close by too
nice!! way to go Larry!!
Well done on the video for mainstream broadcast, it's great for the world drag racing community.
As an Italian I find that car one of the most exotic things I've ever seen.
We do too :)
love the truck, truly badass!!!!☺
Much respect
This is a true street racer let's see any one of those Okies do what this guy does badass ride Larry
awesome video!
Terrible camioneta!! Encima va andando con el tráiler atrás enganchado!! No se puede creer!!! Saludos desde Argentina!!
That's a badass truck
True definition of a street car not a trailer queen. Hes hardcore.
8:40
For the 1320 content :P
Thanks lol
Larry's a legend, full respect from me, I would love to be capable of doing what he does, hard enough building a road legal pickup truck that can get into the 5's and embarass dedicated drag bikes but to drive all that distance just for his passion, very impressive.
passion is enough to get anyone to do anything. firefighters dont do it for fun. it's passion for something driving them. some are passionate about bidding. they have to bid on everything they can cause they love the rush.
this truck an willys jeep are some of the best cars on all of youtube if not the best
A true diehard!!!nice job on the video!!!!
totally miss these videos for drag week
thats why you gotta love turbos. you can run under 6s, and still drive it around. big lumpy NA cams would suck on road trips
Baddest s10 theworld has my hero in drag racing for sure one of my hero's in racing
Love the hood! Awesome machine.
You know what, when I was traveling through the states I saw this truck pass by. The words" what the fuck is that shit(in a disrespectful way of course)" passed through my mind. Yeah I should just choke on shit right now for saying that, I retract my words and now show respect to old man Larson
in Virginia, if you took this on the road you would probably go to jail for 2 years...
Nice s10, Larry.
damn! he drives that on the street. that's a man's man.
I love these lurking turbochargers. They are like:"wait for it......wait for it....NOMNOMNOM EAT ALL THE AIR"
Livin' like Larry.
Larry Larson is the man! That truck went in fives over 240mph at vegas that year
Larry really seams like a stand up guy!
That suspension set up is incredible. It takes off so flat, it's like a jet car when it launches.
he is the definition of a race car driver
These guys are badass
Really enjoyed this!
One question for the 1320 staff, do the drivers and their teams ever feel "stalked" when you guys are on the highway following them or when you pull up to the gas station and all that?
LARRY LARSON IS THE MAN!
Got to meet Larry and Daddy dave and get both their autographs when they were just at pittsburgh raceway facing off. Keep that shirt hung up on my wall. #Goals
1200 miles in those seats... somebody needs some preparation h after this shit...
That's what really impressed me from him doing this. Lol. Between the stiff suspension and those plush seats, he probably felt all 1200 miles
modded5litre Having sat in some nice carbon seats with very little padding, they're surprisingly comfortable.
setra23 yeah but did you sit in them for a prolonged period? i can't imagine they would feel too good for a trip
suspension is probably fairly soft to put all that power down and dude probably puts padding down too
Pablo Picaso soft suspension running 5.90's??
larry ya te man.///// good luck n best wishes.//////////
What an awesome guy
I would have to say 1320 is king of race videos.
thats a fully built racetruck!! xP just has47th the S10 shell. larry seems like a really cool guy he comes off as a construction contractor for some reason... lol you would never picture him in the s10 first look.
holy shit they raced in pueblo CO I've raced my bike there. wish I could have seen him
I love a V8 at 8,000 RPms in the morning!! There is nothing that sounds as beautiful.
its cool to think that he could literally beat any car in the world on thats street legal and the fact that hes a champ
I miss this truck
5.95!!?? This thing is Daddy Dave's DADDY!
Larry is the king of the streets...
Very cool event. That guy earned the win driving 1200 miles in a car like that with stiff suspension and metal seats. Is having the turbos exposed like that bad in the rain??
I saw this vehicle sitting on the side of the interstate near Bandimere recently with a cop behind it. I was wondering to myself "What is that doing on the street?" This vid clears that up, but I wonder how many times Larry gets pulled over by cops who don't believe it's a street legal vehicle.
look at pueblo today lol. its flooding right now
Larry is just old school cool.
nice vid
Damn look at those twin turbos
Love the "Oh Shit" box, lol
