  • 2014 BadBoy ZT Elite suspension seat platform upgrade, Trac Seat, Install, test, review and action video.
I purchased this from Trac Seat.com, they had the best price, SKU#TS-LOPRO-BB cost $174
I installed the Trac Seat two different ways, I was trying to get the seat to the lowest possible ride height I could. This video is the second try installing it to the manufacturers recommendation. I have one more modification I might make, however I think I am going to look for a Bad Boy brand suspension seat in the interim.
The seat definitely smooths out the sharp edges, it just takes time to get used to the new ride height.

Thanks for the dual action video of actual use. Best review I've found!

I was lucky enough to have one already installed on my Exmark Lazer Z by a previous owner. Works great. Pretty cool trick with the shepherds hooks.

It for sure will take the shock out of those sharp bumps! Wasn’t sure about mine, but we are totally used to it and love it!

Maybe it has already been mentioned but if you switch the handles I think you will get more clearance. Put the left handle on the right and vise versa

I wanted to tell you. The handles have another hole in them to raise them up a little. I took mine off today to touch up the paint and noticed they already have a place to raise them up. That might bring it back to your original height. Just wanted to let you know.

I noticed you ended up switching the sliding rails to the top directly under the seat and moved the spacers to the base. You didn’t mention your reasoning in the video. You are shown in the video installing the rails on the bottom. I’m thinking the rails on top would misalign the seat(depending on position) with the suspension kit and it would perform poorly due to not being centered at all times over the suspension. Can you provide feedback? Thank you.

Holy smokes great catch! It was exactly like you said. I just looked and I must have switched and put the rails on the frame and the spacers against the seat. I think I was looking for a way to eliminate all that height with the seat, but ended up swapping the rails and spacers so the spacers are on top again.

It really cuts the sharp hits from the ground. It does make you sit higher but we easily got used to it. Definitely a back saver for sure.

You need a bush hog for that mess

Anyone looking to do this to a Scag Liberty Z don't waste your time, you have to add one inch spacets you have to extend the wire harness, and you have to extend the lap bars as you'll have interference trying to raise and lower the deck, ask me how I know.

I am not very happy with the seat height on this unit also. I will be removing it for the 2022 mowing season.

@@whatsnextgarage I'm so tempted to make a video on this, I'm still screwing around with it in the garage right now. I'm not very happy with Scag if you watched any of my videos, I bought three brand-new last year and all three of them had issues and the dealers around here absolutely suck. If I can't get this to work I'm going to try and return it but it looks like there's a $75 restocking fee which is absolutely ridiculous.

@@morejelloplease I can’t return mine either because I had to do a little modification to get it to fit. It must suck when you spend that money and can’t rely on your dealer! I subbed and will check out your vids tonight!

@@whatsnextgarage also did you know trac seats is using part of your youtube video to promote their product? they left out the part that says you're not so sure about it... seems they should give you a token of appreciation since they didn't let you return it without a restocking fee.
