"As of tonight, we don't have a crime". He just told you she stole all of his clothes, stole his truck ,computer, furniture,35,00 from bank. If they would have taken his seriously, just maybe he would still be alive and the kids wouldn't be missing. If this was a woman reporting same things about her husband, they would have a warrant in their hand within an hour

No ride home, no home to go to, no clothing or computer in his home, no truck, 7 dollars to his name because of money stolen, no children and missing wife. Welcome home. And still this man is calm. This is why it is so essential to marry someone that doesn't have a lot of baggage and is mentally sound. The law doesn't protect spouses from the otherwise criminal actions of their spouse. Charles might be alive today if Lori had been detained and held accountable for her actions. Different states have different laws, but one thing is for sure that Lori would not have continued on so boldly with her shenanigans if the police had been more assertive by contacting Lori and put her on notice. They could have helped Charles by investigating what had happened. Sure, they don't have any concrete evidence, but it is suspicious and deserving of an investigation by law enforcement.

Don't you guys know that when you're married there is no 'my property' or 'your property'? It is *our property!* That's why the officer announced, "As of tonight, we don't have a crime." These officers performed their duty as properly as they could at that hour of the night. If certain circumstances had been different, they could possibly have taken further action. Sadly, Lori Vallow used language that was ambiguous enough to not be considered directly threatening. She was acting abnormal but *had not yet* behaved in a way which she would be considered a danger to herself or others.
Domestic disputes without violence or threats of physical harm *are civil case law* and not true police matters. Until something is agreed upon by the parties and/or a decision declared by a judge through court regarding custody of children and/or division of money, property, etc *both parties* have equal rights to all.
These officers are hardly uncaring. There was, unfortunately, nothing more they could help Charles do that night besides advising him to follow up in the morning as they did. I'm sure they empathized with his plight.
Also, those of you saying "if he was a female..blah, blah, blah..." Think again. The laws do not change simply because you're a mother. At least in my case, they didn't even with a domestic assault *and* my ex making a threat to kill himself, me, his son, and our infant daughter while he was laying on top of me, his hands around my throat, trying to strangle me. (At the time, I worked in a county department closely related and sometimes in relation to law enforcement.) I had to call the sheriff's department to leave the house with the baby. In court, my ex conceded he had assaulted me, driven under the influence with our baby in the car, and passed out w/a cigarette burning a large hole in the couch. Even so, *he still* received 50% custody, no child support. Oh, with the rule that he wasn't supposed to drink alcohol while our daughter was with him. Riiiiight.
Hell, it's been 20 years *but am I bitter?* 🤣 🤣 You bet! Not for me, but for what my baby had to go through.
Sorry, strangers. My case has been cited to help a lot of men gain custody. So, don't tell me women always have it easy!

Community Bridges screwed up too. They should have interviewed Charles and Lori together. Lori charmed the psychologists just like she charmed the Gilbert police. Narcissists are master manipulators.

I would like to know these officers were all provided training and identified where they made mistakes and how they could have responded differently. If it was a woman making the same claims, guarantee they would have arrested Charles.

They justify it saying they followed the law, ofcourse it's them but that's the excuse they'll use. They said the warrest is written like that.
