- Gilbert Police have released bodycam video of Charles Vallow talking with police five months before his death. He claimed his then-wife Lori Vallow locked him out of the house and he was asking for the police's help.

This dude was jumping the fence asking cops if he is allowed to break his own window! Cop was like no dip shit don't break a window how you gonna secure it after you break it. I've read that this officer felt Charles acted strange and was too focused on the $35K Lori took. I don't get it. Charles stayed rational, calm, communicated clearly. You can tell that he is perplexed, worried for the kids, saddened by Lori's actions yet still being concerned for Lori since he feels mental health is responsible for her actions. He did the smart thing calling the cops, having a witness, taking care not to accelerate the situation. This cop does not have the insight or training to get an accurate read on normal people going through abnormal situations.

He was worried about the $35,000 because that included payroll for his employees, which he needed to pay immediately. And he said he had $7.00 in his pocket. So she cleaned him out. That's plenty to worry about.

This is so deeply disturbing. A calm and compassionate plea for help went ignored. 9 minutes into the conversation and the cop has to ask him for his first name again. Completely disconnected from the situation....you can hear in his voice how much he doesn’t even want to be there. Breaks my heart.

No, not at all. You see it with a lot of these cases ....In murder cases, there are almost always prior cries for help ( by the victim ) & usually ignored abuse &/or warning signs . More so, with domestic Violence cases.
THE VICTIMS GET TREATED LIKE THE “ AT FAULT” , LIKE THEY HAVE DONE WRONG& are made to feel embarrassed . I was abused / assaulted by a previous boyfriend. The Police treated me like a liar, like he was the victim. Even though, I had obvious signs of assault & injury . Come to find out , I was the 3rd woman, that he did this to.... Gilbert PD messed up so bad! If they would have done their jobs, Charles would probably still be alive and the kids would be safe! How in the hell is her locking him out, canceling his flight, stealing his truck, and throwing out all of his belongings normal?!? Someone needs to be held accountable for what they didn't do to help this poor man! All he keeps talking about is JJ, but yet in the police report they try to make it sound like all he cared about was money! I'm so glad I dont live in that town because I would not trust that PD with the care of a housefly, let alone another human being!

This is literally how cops react to domestic calls. When I was in middle school my bipolar brother was on house arrest for first degree assault and battery at the time and had a bad day and while my parents weren’t home he got upset that I wouldn’t tell him my evening plans and choked me out until my neck was purple/blue. I managed to fight him off after my dog tried to get in between us and he let go for a second. On the 911 call he was charging at me screaming and telling me he was going to kill me in the background also. I ducked behind my neighbors car for an hour and a half while dispatch calmed me down and took my statement before the cops arrived even arrived. Then when the cops got there they said I had scratched his face and hurt him (note that I was like 120 and 12-13 years old and he was 250+ pounds and like 20) even though that never happened. Then they proceeded to tell me that I was the crazy one and that 911 is for emergencies. Cops literally do nothing in these situations.

The facts are sitting right there in front of their faces but they don’t look deep enough to figure out the substance behind the allegations because they don’t want to file extra paperwork, or don’t feel like dealing with certain situations. As a law student I struggle to be able to count the cases I’ve read involving tragic endings such as kidnappings, disappearances, suicides, and murders that took place following an initial call to law enforcement. The justice system should be embarrassed of the disservice they are doing daily when they decide that they are going to prioritize their laziness over the safety of those who they swore under oath to protect. This video footage proves one thing: Lori had the kids killed. Based on what Charles says about her saying "Take the kids, I don't care about the kids" I am more confident than ever Lori had the kids killed, and this video even more so proves the fact that Charles himself was murdered by Alex, Lori, and maybe Tylee knew about it too and was involved.
This video makes you really get a sense too of how Charles was worried about his kids, because he knew how crazy Lori had become...he was really scared about his kids wellbeing, and rightfully so. He probably never really believed that Lori would have him killed, how could he, poor Charles, just a good trusting dude. I am so glad that the Gilbert Police did something right by releasing this video, we finally get to meet Charles and hear his story about the scary-craziness that Lori was really putting him through, this video is unfortunately his testimony, and its powerful.

What's amazing is that even if police had this footage and Charles made report, after his dead they still didn't arrest Lori and Alex but let them walk free to hurt her kids too.
I think of Charles Vallow often. He seemed like such a great genuine guy who was worried for his children. That brother in law had no injury. The entire story makes no sense. These police officers completely dismissed him and his concerns. Had this been a woman with similar concerns police would be all over it! Rest in peace Charles.

Charles was kicking that door extremely hard. Had he hit Alex Cox in the head like they say, he would have been knocked out or had a severe head injury not just a little cut that's barely bleeding. Head injuries usually bleed alot.they murdered this man and they murdered the children this is so sad those police should be ashamed of themselves for not taking him seriously!

If he cant tell the officer the crazy beliefs she has and how its relevant to what he's going through then what good is it to even go to anyone for help. No one would listen. Heartbreaking.

All related videos to this Vallow case should be utilized in better training for law enforcement. Seems in each case Gilbert police presume Charles is guilty of something. In reality he was afraid of what Lori might do ... he was right... he's dead as are the two children.

What a total failure of "serve and protect" Charles Vallow said his wife threatened his life. He was also afraid for his kids. They sure did not seem to take him seriously. For God's sake! I hope this cop does not sleep at night without that scene running through his head on a continuous loop. Next time, listen.
Why are doctors and police suppose to be respected members of our society but they are the least empathetic, caring and helpful people?
This is just more proof that police are just the ones you call when something bad has already happened. No use in calling beforehand, they cant/wont/don't prevent anything. Poor Charles, he tried to get his family help, and look at where they all are now... Dead and/or missing. Absolutely heartbreaking. I just pray that everyone who played a part in this entire story, are brought to justice and pay for what they did. 😔 💔

Officers spend so much time with the he-said-she-said situations I can see where they were skeptical about what Charles was going through. Charles seemed like such a good man and this video is just more evidence Lori should have been put on a psych hold of 72 hours once they found her.
Truth and they.deal enough with people who would be abusive and claim they can get in but find they have order against husband or no order yet but abusive situation. Also some folks file false claims of stolen property etc only for ins company later to find it was a scam.
I'm surprised they didn't take her in to a psychiatric ward in a hospital. She qualified to be there. She threathen to kill him while being crazy😮
@@ladymissna Therein lies the problem, she was never put on the 72-hour hold for a psych evaluation. That meant there was no way to determine whether or not she had psychiatric problems. Even though after listening to Charles~ it sounds like she may have schizophrenia but there is no way of knowing whether or not it was a psychiatric problem or had she became so infatuated with her (now) current husband she began to believe his rhetoric.
No matter what her issues are~ a decent man was murdered, a brother everyone described as being kind and good died plus a healthy wife died an untimely death. It's an all-round sad nightmare which has culminated with 2 missing children.
