PART 2: Gilbert police help Charles Vallow after he tries to confront Lori Vallow at hotel

- The day after Charles Vallow was locked out of the house by Lori Vallow, he went to a hotel to confront his wife. He also had a petition to try to hold her for a mental evaluation. Gilbert police officers captured their interaction with Charles after he failed to locate her at the hotel.
He seems like such a sweet man! This is so sad that no one took him seriously!
and then he was killed because they did take him seriously and it caused her to run.
"I don’t think we’ll survive this, but she needs help." Oh God this breaks my heart. The first body cam footage that came out of the night before this I could tell what a kind man Charles was. You can clearly see it here too. He knows his marriage is done, but he’s doing _everything_ he knows how to get her help. If someone would have just _listened_ to him, taken him seriously and helped him when he was _begging_ for help, he, Tylee, JJ and Tammy might still be here.

That cop seemed to use poor judgement. Here is a man that doesn’t have his truck, she took $35K from his account, and his wife has threatened to kill him and he acts completely obtuse. Not good policing and investigative skills there Sargent.

Exactly! Had a woman gone to the police saying all this insanity her husband is doing, he would have been arrested on the spot for threatening bodily harm. But she's a thin, pretty, white woman and he's a strong, well built man. 'She couldn't possibly hurt him, come on.. '
Screw Gilbert PD. They accused HIM of stalking right out of the gates and rationalized Lori’s behavior. Charles warned them that the kids might be in danger and look what happened.
Sadly, especially in separation or divorce situations, police are biased against men because statistically that is the time where men are most violent and murderous towards women. Charles was begging for someone to help his wife and they wouldn’t listen.

I just wished that Charles would have picked up JJ from school right then and took him back to Texas and never look back. He had the right to do that too. He was too good of a man though and wanted to help Lori. I really hope she is held accountable for Charles, JJ, Tylee, and possibly Joe's death as well. I believe Chad killed Tammy and they both need to be on death row!
I hope these cops feel as useless as they are/were. Charles, Im sorry this happened to you and JJ and Tylee. You tried. This makes me tear up and want to cry.
This has upset me so much. Poor man and I hope all those police officers have sleepless nights now knowing that he’s dead along with 2 beautiful kids all because they thought this was amusing to them 🤬 . RIP Charles

I wish these police officers had LISTENED to Charles. Maybe Charles, Tammy, Tylee, and JJ would still be alive and Lori in the psych ward where she belongs.
This situation ended so so so badly. It’s unbelievably sad. Her charm schmoozed these cops and Gilbert PD need to be sued for wrongful death.

Charles was a true Gentle giant and thank the stars he had such an amazing sister in Kay. Without Kay and her husband we may never have ever have known anything.

Anyone who brushed this man and father off needs to resign. The point of the police is to protect and serve. Had this been taken more seriously with out a doubt his kids would be alive. This video was published on CZcams, (according to the date top, right corner) on June 18th, 2020. Charles was murdered on July 11, 2019, Vallow Daybell's brother, Alex Cox, shot and killed Charles Vallow, who died at age 62. Cox claimed self-defense in the shooting and he was not charged. Soon after Charles Vallow's death, police said Chad Daybell sent multiple texts to the recent widow to further their relationship. 💀
The male cop talking to Charles is not even trying to listen to him. The ass just wants to assert power and pretend he knows way more than he actually does. He should be held accountable "in part" for Charles and the children's death! If nothing else put in jail for awhile for being that dang ignorant.

Once again.. I am listening & watching, but I saw someone else say those cops should've listened. Anyhow I'm glad along with half of Southern California that Tylee & JJ got justice for what happened to them, nothing so horrific should ever happen to kids like that.

She had such a good man !!! This gets under my skin and I want it to be a bad nightmare and wake up and find that this isn't really real. Unfortunately, it is real. There really are sick, sick minded people, selfish people and just flat out heartless people in this world. He really was trying to get help. I wish help was more on his side at the time he was asking for it. I bet now in hind sight, these officers wish they had tried a little harder.... but I understand they have protocols to follow and probably did what they knew to do. It was probably a good lesson learned for them tho. If they ever have a situation like this again, they may remember the cry of Charles Vallow and the outcome that followed. I don't understand how Alex Cox was not arrested for the murder of Charles. I know he said it was self defense. But this police agency knew that Charles had been saying to the police that Lori wanted him dead. So, when he does get killed, why wasn't it a concern and question mark for police to dig into his murder deeper than they did. This case is so messed up !! So sad !!! Lori and Chad will have their day to pay, but it won't ever be enough for the sorry things they have done !
Poor Charles he seemed like a very sweet man. It makes you question God why he takes people and put them through such horrible situations.
I hope the cop that told Charles to be careful not to deny a mother access to her child has nightmares about this situation and learns from this bad bad bad maybe should have listened my friend !
Genuinely curious because I don’t know all of the laws, standard procedures, and penalties... What could/should police have done at this point? They’re only hearing one side of the story, and it’s not illegal to hold bizarre religious beliefs. You can’t arrest someone for something they might do in the future. At this point what had she done that was illegal that they could legally act on? Hindsight is 20/20, we ALL wish this story had turned out differently, and I am so sad for Charles, JJ, Tylee, and Tammy. I just honestly am wondering what legal action should have been taken at this point.

How they sleep at night knowing that Charles and both of the kids are DEAD because of the woman Charles was worried about and trying to get help. 💔 😔 Had a woman gone to the police saying all the same things Charles said, about her husband, things would have been handled so much differently. Apparently you can threaten to kill your husband and the police (atleast those officers) won't do anything about it. This all could have been prevented.

@Boston Gal Isn't that EXACTLY their job? They take an oath to 'Serve and PROTECT'? Charles went to them for help and they all but laughed in his face. My opinion still stands that if they had done their JOB, Charles, Tammy and The Kids would still be alive bc crazy ring leader Lori would have been locked up for threatening his life and the lives of the kids, and none of this would have happened. Those 4 beautiful souls would still be living, breathing and walking about the world.
