    A picture of a medieval castle would look nice. I liked the idea of a 'window' looking out over your land too..

    I love the window idea. I have now officially binge watched the past 3 years of your life. Leaving me to brutally neglect my own remodel. Lol. As I see it, since you are only a breath away from 100,000 subscribers you are in a unique position in life. The world is invested in your chateau. If you could get the rooms finished there seems to be no limit as to the things you could do with it. Wedding destination, corporate retreats, etc. all this in the front house while you are nestled in the carriage house that you will, ultimately, turn into your own perfection. Maybe Beth could manage the entire thing. She seems to really love it and it’s already generating income through social media. CZcams is a strange thing in that you could skyrocket at some point soon. Your family has an appealing on camera presence. What I mean is that, we like you, we really like you. 😅 There are a zillion CZcamsrs who would give anything to have the following you do. Take those extra sponsorships and advertising opportunities. That beautiful chateau will just pay for herself and then some. These are just my humble opinions. I don’t mean to overstep. But I’m not finished learning construction from Adrian and, dear Carole, you have given me permission to use lots more gold and not care if my grown children don’t like it. Beth, you have done the most wonderful job of editing and growing this channel. I know how time consuming editing can be. In the end I just want to say “Take this opportunity and RUN with it!!!!!! Lastly, thank you for sharing these years with us. ❤

    # 3 Matchin Carole's curtains print is my favorite print for the Stairway wall - I have the exact same bronze lamp shade direct to the right of the mirrored lamps Carole's eyeing. The stairway is a critical thought. Maintaining the beautiful theme/flow down the hall up the staircase of the elegant work you both did. Spectacular
    #3 Chateau print might dwarf the fine exquisite details that have gone into this hallway flow? SO EXCITING the whole project

    I love the idea of having “ views of the buildings, etc” in the trompe l’oeil framed by the example shown, at various levels as you climb the stairs. Glimpses of the past…..
    Could these be done as “wallpaper” ? Does the wall curve as you climb up? If not, the various pictures from the past of the chateau buildings, etc. could be framed “ poster/prints”. Gold frames…of course. Pics all in black/white.

  • @Redbird_Girl2010
    @Redbird_Girl2010 Před 4 měsíci +6

    The stairway has a few challenges:
    1. It is open to all floors and from bottom to top.
    2. It is dark.
    3. It will be difficult to work on due to it being a very high stairwell.
    4. It lacks visual interest.
    I think you may want to be consistent from top to bottom since it is an open stairwell. That means whatever you choose would need to fit the decor of each floor's hallway, or at least not compete with each hallway's design.
    Sources of light are needed. If you hang artwork, would there be some way to light the artwork? If you install a carpet runner up the entire stairway, could it be lighted and not look tacky? Sconces would be a given, which could change in design as you go up each level. Would be hard to find enough matching sconces to go all the way to the top.
    Would it be possible to install faux paneling halfway up the stairway walls? Then you could paint, paper, or run a mural above the paneled areas. Paint would be the safest and easiest given the danger of trying to paper the stairwell. Might want to consider hiring professionals for help with this part, especially since someone has a fear of heights (myself included).
    Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be perfect and I can't wait to see it! Loved the fairies!

      @donnadodman8865 Před 4 měsíci

      Hmmmmm do like the toile but stairway goes all the way up to top floor so same toile may not work for every palette, however if you continue with the paint color either the cream or light blue, keeping it a bit more neutral, you can accent with other accessories along the way up the stairwell. 😊😊

    I don't know how it will look, but that classical French wall papers, something tapestry like? With the scene of people sitting or walking in a park and forming little groups? You know those type of French wall paper? One not too busy that portray a calming, relaxing theme? And of course for real glamour that window arch of you as part of the scene? I you don't choose it, just show it to us on your fancy computer program? I love the jade shade at 3:44 painted on the wall, and onwards as it came through on the video as a colour scheme for the stairs also.

    I'm sorry you didn't brave the lift--if You ever do decide, PLEASE stand in the center of the lift as it ascends (they have lights as you progress up the tube). Something surreal about when it pops up at the top and you see the horizon. I said the same thing about going (I do NOT do heights!) but felt OK about it because you never leave the lift. On another note, I liked the photo of the trees on the wall but I don't think the autumnal color schema (or grayscale for that matter) works--maybe spring bloom or frozen. Toile is always a winner! As a child, my mum put up a toile wallpaper in our dining room and I would spend many hours just studying the scene. Have a blessed Easter!!

    Thanks for the power plant tour and England home lighting update. As for hallway, I am of two minds. I like the idea of a "window" but suggest that instead of using wallpaper (semi-permanet), use a backlit glass mosaic (moveable) of a outdoor scene. Of course, I would not want anything to compete with the multi storied light fixture. :-)

    I also like the idea of a picture of a window looking outside. I think the picture would be extraordinary and be an eye catcher as a person ascends the stairway. I mourn constantly that you are selling the chateau. I liked the pair of lamps you picked out at the antique shop. The night light fair was very nice. But your last picture of the ballerina butterfly in front of the sphere of lights was breathtaking. I still like your wow of gold. Maybe you could lead some ribbons of gold from the picture of a window up the wall to the gold accent around the doors. Any work you do to create, restore, or embellish is MUCH, MUCH appreciated by your viewers. To see you and Adrian in action is such a treat!!! Take care. Hello from Yakima, Washington, USA

    Please consider hiring a Trompe l’oeil artist to match your Chateau’s style to a grand design in that space. Trompe l’oeil is an economic alternative to expensive decor, giving you spectacular views from luxury environments based on the mastery of perspective. A competent artist can create an illusion that will Wow you for years.

      That is the perfect place for wallpaper but it must be bright and faintly colorful. White background with soft colors, vines with flowers ect.

    The power plant and illuminations are lovely. Thanks for sharing London with us! I really like the chateau picture in the stairwell. It makes kinda of a modern touch to a very classic interior.

    Was there just 3 weeks ago. Stunning. And I feel the same- on right side operation room one can get up even higher. And on the glass balcony to see all the way down. I felt sick...

    You guys are the best!!! Soooooo creative. Loved the green glass paint...who knew such a product existed. Carol you are a 'powerhouse' and have the most extraordinary ideas.

    I like vintage pictures on that stairway. You go to so many beautiful antique stores. Maybe past pictures of the chateau and the grounds.
