I really enjoyed seeing your restoration. If I wasn't a 77 year old little old lady, I would love to do that kind of satisfying work, as a business. Without special tools, I did do quite a few restorations of Antique and vintage furniture when I was younger. It was always so satisfying and I enjoyed using all the pieces I restored. I never did it for re-sale, just for my own use. I am a perfectionist like you so I really appreciate the meticulous way you do all your restorations. I do still work myself and do very intricate work of a different nature.

@FlippingDrawers it looks good! I have a suggestion for the pieces of veneer you cut out and to celebrate your career change! Put your logo on the center veneer and the date you officially switched in a picture frame. Use the corner pieces for the corners of the frame. You could hang it in your editing office to remind you of your anniversary!
I have helped hubby edit vacation videos for us and his buddy. I don't think the average person understands how much work editing itself is. I greatly appreciate the camera angles and editing you provide! If you ever have to give up furniture making (I hope you never do...lol), you have a future in editing!

@FlippingDrawers I really like the brass on wood look myself. Considering how important cats are to you...I have a suggestion for the bottom of the table. Build a shallow box with a cushion on the base! If you are not a tailor...just buy one.

A very nice and unique table to begin with. But what a transformation! Beautiful.
Rufus looks exactly like our cat, Cocoa. She was half Persian and half long hair with the deep dark coat of fur. So wonderful to see you include the cats when they visit.
I grew up with tables like this dotted about our sitting room......marvellously sturdy but not a great match for the tail of a happy labrador, perfect height for a quick swipe!! Happy memories. Thank you for sharing yet another calming project.

I'm not usually a fan of reddish tones in natural wood, but it seems to suit this little table very well. It looks remarkable now and the grain lines on the top are lovely.
I am more of an Early American Oak or Mahogany wood color but I love wood.

It's amazing to watch you take a piece of furniture most people would discard and trash and turn into something absolutely beautiful. The polished brass really accents the gold tones in the Sapelo veneer very well. I like the oil finishes. Very practical for natural woods.

I'm old enough to remember when these little teak tables were new, in the seventies, very fashionable at the time,some with brass, some with maps and glass on top,with brass corners.

Lightening the shade of veneer really made a difference in the appearance of this game table, I may have to do the same to mine. and yes, I use mine as a coffee table/ workstation for my laptop as well. Lol
