  • Jubango was revived after 70 years!
Go heros and rivals Leesedol 9p vs Guli 9p
I compare Leesedol's comments and AI's comments and it was very interesting and could learn a lot.
This game was played in 2014 Jan 26th.
    Enjoy this review :D

Great to see these games back, with your comments, adding AI insights. I love what AI has to tell us, and how Shin Jinseo exploded to the top of the go world because of it. Somehow these Lee Sedol - Gu Li games make me sad because of an era gone, so quickly really.

I was watching the whole video thinking the exactly same thing! It has been a couple of years that I don't play go, I don't know if I can still. I'd have to relearn a lot from scratch.

Very interesting review! Even though I didn't watch the game live it can feel the some of the excitement that must've been present at the time. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

Hi, Yeonwoo. The Go Seigen / Kitani Minoru jubango was definitely not the first. In fact, there were many jubangos (and even nijubangos and sanjubangos, 20 and 30-game matches) played in the classical era. See senseis.xmp.net/?Jubango. Possibly the Go/Kitani jubango was the first modern one sponsored by a newspaper.

By the way, what AI are you using now? Is it a good old Leela Zero or an up-to-date KataGo network?

when we were watching this game live we all thought gu li's last move at N15 was just him looking for a good sequence to resign. so he should have seen A4 but he was losing anyway so he allowed it to happen so it would be a good way to end the game. is that something that professionals actually still do? i was taught about that when i first started learning go as something people would sometimes do in the older days haha

When the top pros are matched up like this, do the younger pros have "watch parties" where they gather in a room, watch and comment on the game?

@@gardelia9283 He probably meant that since the 21st century only ends in 2101, there are still 80 more years worth of games until then. Therefore any game before then can't be the "game of the century"
