  • Labour's public service spokesperson Ayesha Verrall says the Government is choosing to deliver tax cuts over maintaining the public services Kiwis need. However, when reflecting on the growth of the public service during the Labour-led Government, she says people probably didn't feel services had improved.

Rubbish that's subjective. I did 2 decades in private sector, half the people were warming seats. Now in public sector and everyone's full on, bottlenecks and delays resulting from team size reductions from recent restructures aren't helping. Some depts totally gone and nobody even handles some of those things anymore - just go into a void, it's nuts. Lots of people burnt out and deflect things I've noticed because they have too much to do, means public often get nowhere with stuff they need.

A healthy dynamic public service with intelligent public servants would have greatly improved, Wellington and NZ. Whether th capital should have remained the Capital is dubious. The Auckland CBD was built to be the Capital and is the only real NZ city built above and below the ground, ie street level is floor 5-7 and suburban class divisions between upper middle class and the working and underclass are faced, simply by crossing the street in say Mt Eden or Grey Lynn as well as America and Australia. Moving the Capital to Kapiti/Otaki/PN with the port at Foxton was also a better option than continuing with Wellington Hutt due to climate, geology and fact small close housing in Wellington inhibited social life.
A real country required much larger Foreign Affairs, defence, internal affairs, transport, railways planners and economist and environment. and energy departments
Far fewer social workers and health officials would also be desirable. Social medicine and psychiatry are fraudulent Marxist religious cults against human interest People not intelligent enough to appreciate sex, pleasure and simply living are the point of life. Those who disagree the Salvationist are so thick as not to be worth it. The Wellington proletariat should have been forced out of the Hutt by expanding the very intelligent bureaucracy from the 194Os. The Hutt proletariat would have been relocated in sink poorly served areas on the coast of obscure regions and reservations in the central North Island and Central Otago.

@@BrettCooper4702woke has too many bullshit narratives pandering to extreme minorities who are demanding insane rights e.g trans men competing against women in sport & wanting to use female toilets & prisons. Too many people running on feelings not facts & rational thinking.

I used to think this but I am finding him much better lately. Good questions and good research by Jack on this interview. I think he is improving and learning. I think it is hard to generalize accurately.

@BrettCooper4702 woke isn't a good thing compassion is, allowing men to use women's toilets and rainbow crossings is woke rubbish and detrimental to society.
