    This is what this policy sounds to me: dear family, in order to keep our house we are going to sell our backyard, our garden, our fridge, our heaters, and our water pipes. And the pet must go. Selling your country is the worst, most shameful abuse of trust your government can ever do

    When you have a world wide pandemic , that's going to throw a budget into disarray. I think Labour have done well to keep things going through all of that. The repercussions of Covid are still being felt today, so for Nicola to say you can't blame Covid for 2022 is showing she doesn't understand how the economy works.

    National are not going to do anything different to Labour: "Will you get to surplus before Labour?" "We will get there at the same time." "We promise to deliver tax cuts." But at what cost? Average NZers will get between $2 and $25 per week (and that's largely for those on Working for Families benefits), but to deliver that Nats are going to turn the property speculator dial to 11! $2 means jack when house prices are inflated away and rents skyrocket. Nats never again.

      @@davebevin No 'vote' is wasted . How do you define 'waste' in this case ? vote gone into vacuum or vote gone to the lost party ? I guess no shame or wastage in going and expressing yourselves. Foreign buyer ban lifting is just another encouragement for housing ponzi and selling land to foreigners. National is nicely hiding this under 'revenue' generation

    • @MandySam13
      @MandySam13 Před 9 měsíci

      Foreign buyers buy property all over the world. We banned them but that didn’t make a huge difference to the first home buyer market. So let’s just stop the false panic and pearl clutching. What we need is a bigger supply of housing, and an easier consent process (like David Seymour says) to get things moving. Voting TOP won’t achieve that. (Though I like what I’ve seen of Raf Manji). If the high end market gets us some extra revenue it can only help with the bottom line right now. It can always be tweaked later to increase the threshold to maybe $3Mil + which is where I personally think the line should be.

      Ah bad guess dude. I have lived and worked in 3rd world countries albeit being paid 1st world money to do so, doesn't matter about what's going on overseas, we could be doing better than we are. After 75years of western dominance time for a new colonial age...clearly Red vs blue is broken across the old empire they know it hence they're trying to pass the hot potato to new ideas to blame while there is a transition. keeping bare legacies in tact. We are heading towards poor retirements meaning 3rd world medical standards and housing for those that don't prepare adequately at this Rate of demographic and cultural economic stagnation (inflation higher than GDP (if thats not decline what is?). Something on all fronts needs to change, crime/education etc 10years bubbles blown no adjustments obvious.
      Anyway it's late. We need a 3rd pillar to question/rebuild integrity of neptist red vs blue. $50 to do what $20 used to do and wages havent kept up is the norm over 5 years ago. We are all poorer whether you feel it or not depends on individual circumstances. My partner and I battled to get our first home. On historical trends it's 400% more than it should be since it was built in 2003, oh how it was sold 5 times in 20years and the price from the specilation jumping as it has. After being scammed the way i have... you have your point of view I have mine. Enjoy what's left of our red vs blue fiat democracy as we slide into facism cronieism like Russia did after the USSR pulled back. USSA keeps raising its debt ceiling...QE15 now is it? It's starting to hyper inflate...
