    Thanks for taking the time to put up the video. I have had a LST for years but haven't played with it enough to get good at it. Watching this video has given me some great starting points and I hope to get it out and find some gold.

    Scanner guy - Great video on the Lobo ST. BTW the disc side of the Lobo ST has a preset ground balance. Also Dave Johnson designed this for Tesoro after he left Fisher Labs. He then went on to design the Whites MXT and is currently the lead designer for First Texas ( Fisher Teknetics, Bounty Hunter).

      Thats awesome to know about Dave. Im in the middle of testing some lower end bounty hunters and a delta 4000. As far as the lobo goes. Someone knows what they are doing. I swear the lobo and the vaquero are tops compared to many many detectors that are even priced a lot higher.

    scannerguy, I just bought one of these... visited with a guy from company and had a question on batteries. I wanted to get rechargeable ones but he really discouraged it. Said the best results come from Alkaline batteries are best! I assume you are using them in this video. Other videos trying to make this look like an inferior machine must not be using the correct batteries I assume. Thanks for a great comprehensive video!

    • @scannerguy1968
      @scannerguy1968  Před 7 lety +1

      I would say from experience the Alkalines are better. Would run longer. Shouldn't hurt performance though with rechargeables. Would just die faster. Once a battery drop below say 1.2 volts either kind the detector would quit or act up.

    Hi from the U.K, Thank you for providing the U.K Tesoro owners with your excellent videos, they are the boss. Please, if possible will you make a short vid, or furnish us with your opinion of the practicalities of the Tejon with the 5x10" Elliptical (Lobo) coil fitted. There are literally no Proper video Testings of this combination, and I'm sure the dedicated U.K Tejon owners would find the information invaluable. Tejon kicks ass for sure, and I will never part with mine, it cuts through our ground like a hot-knife through butter. In fact, some of my buddies own more expensive, all-singing, all-dancing 'analoguers', and have remarked that in certain instances their machines are of as much use as teats on a boar pig in comparison!

    Hmmm... you're not supposed to wind the wire all the way down around the plastic piece that connects to the coil. This creates a field that interferes with the coil itself! You are supposed to go straight down to the coil and only wind it around the gold-colored part! Hope that makes sense.

    I'm trying to get into the hobby & have been doing my research before spending good money & not getting the right machine for what I need it for, (like I usually do). Your video's are helping with the decision process, my question is, have you tried a side by side test between the LST & the Nokta, or tried changing the coils on each machine, (putting a bigger coil on the LST, & putting a smaller coil on the Nokta) to see how this effects their overall performance? Also, have you been interested to see how the LST would test against the Fisher Gold Bug 2, which seems to be all the craze at the moment? Thanks for your time in creating your videos, there great!!!

      Scott Wasik higher frequency machines will pick up gold easier: Tesoro machines are great been and dig machines with really good depth. I do like both Tesoro’s and Whites classic series for any scenario. For the money and performance and portability; Tesoro’s are best. Tesoro lobo: vaquero; bandido umax2; gold. Good machines all around.

      +meals24u I didn't try it with the 10x12. I know I had the 10x12 for my vaq and didn't seem to do much for depth over the stock 9x8 though. My guess it will improve depth decent over the football coil though

      I have both but i would take the Lobo in every situation where depth is not an issue. Very simple detector to use with a very short learning curve.The signals of the Lobo are much clearer then the ones of the Tejon. You know when to dig and not with the Lobo. In case of the Tejon i'm not always sure to dig or not, there is less information in the signals compared to the ones of the Lobo. The Lobo gives you much more information in his beeps.
