The guy that designed this toy was an idiot! The paint chips away as usual and the knees destroys itself and its too gappy here and there, but the trailer is fun. And no, its over complicated to transform and not fun, its a chore. Mp1 was perfect in that regard, just too big and not enough articulation otherwise it got the looks and style to a T

I know that if I got something like this when I was little, I’d try and work on it for five minutes, hand it to my uncle who would’ve either admitted defeat in two minutes or accidentally break a part of it by trying to force something. Good times.
I still have the original dicast metal prime from the 80's, My father passed it down to me. He sold everything else. He had literally every 80's transformer, even Omega supreme and Trypticon. He regrets selling them all those years ago, they would be worth thousands today.

Furai just announced the presale of the Generation 1 Optimus model kit. It doesn't transform, but it's the most accurate looking robot version I have seen.
Yeah, Masterpiece figures generally ain't for kids. They're largely high-end collectibles...and with the direction the line has taken since MP36 Megatron, they're definitely more set & forget than pick up and play. 😒😒😒

I have this MP. In my opinion, the model is pretty good, but has some problems. There are some paint fails in the back, and the legs can be broken easily unless you disassemble them and fix them.
I thoroughly enjoyed this! 😍 Loved how the sports cars fit into his trailer and how the aesthetics of him in robot form were mint and accurate to a fine T. 🏆 👏🏼

If you were a g1 kid which I suspect you are not then this is easy. The hard part was reading the instructions and trying to transform. You just do it and figure out out. I had six shot. He transformed into robot, truck space ship, gun like Megatron and three other modes I forgot.

To be fair, this figure comes with a bunch of accessories that serve no other purpose than to artificially Jack up the price to insulting levels. 100-150 would be a fair price for this figure imo.

This is amazing, that detail in the transformation is unreal. More for collectors than kids though because a kid would be frustrated with the transformation.

The articulation and dexterity of these figures is immense. Clearly the mecha style designs suit the Transformers and provides less cartoonish and more realism of movements seen in the Transformer films.

SOUNDWAVE was my favorite. To think as kids we transformed these in seconds within mins after first opening them. The 80s!!!
