Not gonna lie though. This is probably one of the most real Transformer-like transformations. Just because of how complex it is, and how accurate the figure is to the movies.

The front wheels go inside his torso. That's screen-accurate transformation right there.
In movie his arms pop from sides. His forearm plates are not hood. Movie version just gives an illusion of transformation.

And in terms of esthetics, this guy wins again vs challenger. and also, pre-order is cheaper than challenger too by like $50

I was always impressed by the designers of figures how they manage to "hide" all the vehicle parts when is on robot mode. Big LIKE!
Okay, this figure’s transformation is truly unbelievable. The engineering is so complex, and the vehicle mode actually looks worn out and battle damaged which you rarely see!
His Robot form looks awesome no signs that he even changes into a vehicle best rendition of Optimus Prime I've seen very clean...

Challenger’s proportion looks a little better than this. This looks too buffed and doesn’t have a butt which looks really odd. But the engineering of this is far superior. The truck mode looks much better and more screen accurate than Challenger’s
@@duongallen4094 I don’t think so. I think Challenger’s truck mode looks much closer to a Marmon 97. This looks more squished in some areas and bulky in others.
I like how complex the transformation is just like in the movie. Great figure!

Very cool! I like some of the ways robot details are hidden in vehicle mode, like the chest bits under the wheel wells. I think I prefer Challenger a bit more still for being simpler, but this definitely is smoother looking.

@@poseidon2363 If I gotta be honest, the truck is blocky and (I can't believe I'm saying this) overpainted...? But the robot mode and the transformation makes up for it. I mean, you can't make a curvy vehicle mode with a crazy hard transformation that ends up with an epic robot mode.

UniqueToys AoE/TLK Western Star Optimus Prime and ToyWorld AoE/TLK Western Star Optimus Prime are a toss-up. They both look great! I'm waiting on TakaraTomy to get to work on their versions of MPM Western Star Optimus Prime and MPM Scrapyard Optimus Prime.
Challenger is better because the transformation on that figure isn't cancer like knight orions transformation. Also, UT Challenger has the superior truck mode

It beats every transformation of Optimus Prime, complicated it is. Yet can't stop thinking of the efforts the designers went to to get the accuracy of creating Prime our of a FREAKING truck.... UNBEATABLE
robot mode looks sweet, but that transformation is simply insane. vehicle mode is cool for what it has to be but looks so piecemeal it's hard for me to like. not a fan of the TLK design in general. great video though!
That entire front section must feel terrible in hand. Two halves of the chest and the shoulders are all supported by a metal strut.

Surprisingly good for a movie model! The end result is basically flawless, I would just be worried about how little is keeping everything together during transformation

I'll admit the Bayformers may have been one of the most flawed continuities in the history of the TF franchise, but the Optimus Prime design from AOE/TLK will always be one of my most favorites regardless of what others say!

At 6:07 Imagine a wonderful display of all the survivin' Autobots, Dinobots, and Knights of Iacon and havin' Optimus in the center.
I actually like the knight look of Optimus. Makes him look regal and heroic.
The paint looks exceptional, but I feel like that's the only area where this release shines. After such a long wait, and after Unique Toys released their version, which pulls off an incredible transformation significantly more easily than this guy, I don't really have any reason to pick this up, probably not even for a repaint. Still, this looks worlds better than their Freedom Leader release and makes me much more optimistic about future releases.
Even the paint is too much. Truck mode is dirty af when he was only ever shiny in the movie. They're just polishing a turd, IMO.
I know everyone commends Unique Toys for their "black magic" but I feel like where they truly shine, is making a "good enough" in terms of accuracy robot mode, all while also not having a completely horrible and complicated transformation. They are able to pull off a pretty straight forward and fun transformation yet it turns into basically the right looking robot mode. Any company can make a vehicle that explodes outward and turns into a robot, with a frustrating mess of parts, but it takes truly talented engineers to make it so that you get a pretty straight forward and fun transformation and still have that same result.
@@Freak80MC Completely agree. They could do better with molded details for sure, but with the exception of Peru Kill, their proportions in both modes are excellent, and it's never a frustration to transform or play with.

@@GoneDeathMode lets be real here. The movie model are too humanoid on purpose so they can easily rig it.some of the truck part is resized. If they follow all the truck part he would definitely look like this.
@@gelopugliatty389 The robot mode isn't completely accurate...I would normally dismiss this if it was a off by a few details but in this version, the back(not to be confused the with the whole backside) looks quite off. The Unique toys version has a more accurate back. I still think this looks better though.

The the detail is crazy. It's obviously looks similar. One of the best transformer figure. How can imagine how the imagition of the designer works
I love the overall transformation and how accurate this figure is. It's gonna be the closest above all for the bay films. Only problems is the chest piece. It's under development makes him look a bit weird. The wheel fenders isn't the proper size from this toy. Collar is too big and his neck isn't existent but we know it's there. His back has little to no body details for the truck portions of the transformation, which understandably is sacrificed for the kibble. Great transformation tho. Maybe we will get super accurate one day
I really don't like this model, but the trasformation has the value of making a bulky and squared truck in a slender and fit android. A great job.
This is the coolest and most complex transformer toy I have ever seen. as close as possible to Optimus from the original film. detail, small details. Literally everything is top notch.

What is so cool about this piece is that it is much more evolved with the transformation. The car didn’t Gould up and become some extra weight it literally BECOMES the robot.

Tbh, when I first saw images of this, I never really liked it. Idk why, probbly because of how blocky it is on the chest and some details are muted, especially on the silver parts. But when I saw this video, all my expectations just blow away.
Whoever engineered this is a total genius, you won't see any third party tf figure that transforms as smooth as this everyday.
Overall, I give this AND the video a 10/10. Good job perfectly showcasing that smooth transformation! Keep up the good work!
