You can see how it works with the editor. If you don’t kill the swat guy the door is already unlocked as a “cutscene” door because you killed everyone in the level. If you did kill the swat guy though, he drops keys that you need to grab to open the door instead.

My face was agape in stunned, reverent terror and elation as I watched this. I'm a big fan of the Hotline Miami series, and I have to ask: how the hell is speedrunning this game even possible? I know there isn't as much RNG (random weapon drops, slightly random enemy behavior) in 2 as there is in 1, but is the game really predictable enough to distill it down to the pure, calculated science displayed in this video? I'm fascinated by this and I can't stop watching.
yes and no, sometimes enemies carry different guns that might make easier or not for you to complete a certain segment of the level or their own random movement. Im make full combos and i must tell its a fucking pain when the enemies go to a certain unfavorable part of the level to chain the combo for example.
