I like to imagine that the speedruns of HM2 glitchless is the closest we will get to see how "Lore accurate" levels would be in the universe of the games

after hardmode, S on dead ahead normal was pretty easy
Dead Ahead isn’t too bad! I dislike Blood Money and Take Over way more.
See THIS is how a speed runned game should look, not fittling around with glitches, or running past enemies, but fucking blitzing the whole level in an entire combo in one attempt like youre John Wick hyped on the russian's new drug
Agree, I just can't watch HM1 speedruns because it all becomes taking a shield and dragging him back to the car.
This is simply someone dabbing hard on every enemy faction, while probably wearing thr Brandon mask IRL

Still stand by this tho, since its mostly a compliment to hotline miami then a dunk on speed running, the whole the right way to play is the most stylish and fun way thing that it has goin on that not many games have

Act 1 scene 3 took me like 30 minutes to do while you finish the game in that time.
This game is so, so frustrating but finally managing to pull off a quarter of the style that this guy does makes it so addicting.

So does the speedrun not need to include the actual begining with midnight animal? theres a prelude before the first scene that he skipped and its totally a playable portion of the game that you can die during and everything. Just doesnt seem like a legit speedrun since he skipped part of the game.
You can ask any mods on speedrun.com, none of them will tell you it's necessary to do Midnight Animal on any% ng+
