- Today we get our freshly built Harbor Freight 224cc Max Performance engine on our Trialmaster MB200 Mini Bike. We upgrade Lonnie's MB200 with the 225cc Tillotson engine from my mini bike. We go for a street ride and top speed test both bikes. The 224cc got from 0-40mph 3 seconds faster than the 225cc. Stay tuned for more builds and don't forget to like, comment, & subscribe!!!

That 224 is so quick! Really like the lesson on equalizing the crank case and valve cover pressure. Love these mini bike videos!
Glad you liked it!
🌟👍😃
@Andrew Wasson - I agree %100, the main reason I watch Red Beards Garage is because of one simple fact. I learn tons of small details about building engines that are very important but other channels never tell you this information. Red Beard does not leave out anything, you get the smallest of details and that is what has helped me the most. With just what knowledge I've learned from this channel alone I've been able to cut down my build times significantly, while creating a better finished product in the process. So thank you Red Beard and my son and I really enjoy watching your videos.
Me too, my Motovox mbx-10 pukes out oil at 31mph with the governor ziptied. Gotta carry an old-timey pocket flask full of oil on long rides. Now I know how to solve that, I think!
@@RedBeardsGarage can you build me one ? I want the fastest one you can . I freaken love this .
I like how it doesn't sound like a struggling lawn mower👍
😎
@Red Beard's Garage - The main reason I watch your channel is because of one simple fact. I learn tons of small details about building engines that are very important. For some reason all of the other channels will never tell you this information. It is almost like they purposely leave it out because they don't want you to be able to build anything or repair it yourself! Red Beard does not leave out anything, you get the smallest of details and that is what has helped me the most. With just what knowledge I've learned from Red Beard and this channel I've been able to cut down my build times significantly, while creating a better finished product in the process. So thank you Red Beard. Also my son and I really enjoy watching your videos, it's kind of like our Father and Son bond time. He is just getting to the age to enjoy engine builds and such so we watch every video together. Thank you for bringing us this great Channel and amazing Content!!
THIS GUY IS SMART.,...KNOWS HIS ONIONS... AMAZING...
Back in the day me and my uncle would cruise our minibikes at 50mph down the road stock blue greyhound engines with governor bypassed and headers. Think my top speed was 57 and he could get his to 61. I had manco thunderbird with 38t rear sprocket his was a firehawk straight chained.
Enjoyed the explanation of your breather setup. And yes your explanation of the one way valve made perfect sense. I like that you address the drain back as well. cheers. Love how you approach your engine builds. Cheers mate from northern ky.
Glad it was helpful!
Totally makes sense. 100%. The breathing and check valve ect. Great explanation.
Freaking awesome! Love the see the rebuild Red. Great show I'll to watch more. ✌️😎🤘
Those Milwaukee electric ratchets are game changers!!
I dented a motorcycle gas tank once. I closed a trashbag in the filler cap to seal it, opened the petcock and pressed an air compressor nozzle to it. The tank swole up like a balloon and popped that dent right out.
That must be a good one when it works
@@chuckb9867 It worked for me, and it doesn't hurt anything to try it.
@@bradleyj.fortner2203 thanks for the tip never heard of it
Was waiting for this! I love your videos man, keep it up!
Thanks! Will do!
Definitely one of the BEST shows on CZcams
Good to see people playing around with this stuff have fun and be safe
I completely agree with you on building these is half the fun, I’d say the building is more like 75% of the fun for myself. I just did a full build on a 224 and love that thing! Great video brother, stay safe
This makes me feel like mini bike Monday is full on back….after the new shop has been built amongst tons of other work. Thanks for the info man.
We've really enjoyed working on this series!
For future reference you can use mag wheel cleaner on any aluminum surfaces and we'll clean it up very well. Especially porous casted blocks that tend to hold in a lot of that extra grime. So again try out some mag wheel cleaner
You live you learn. Or you brake your back. Thanks for the ride.
This channel is great 👍 its like trailer park hotrods . Its unique because most ppl that want more power buy bigger better bikes, wheeler, exc but not everyone has the money for that and wants to upgrade their lil stuff cause its fun 😉
Love seeing your new vids pop up
Just bein acouple of big kid's. Ain't nothing wrong with that. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks
Plan on building mine this summer 💪
Red you guys are kicking ass love the vids thanks !!!!
I dig it good stuff !! Ghost engine from harbor fright turned me on to your channel
That thing is sick.💪🏼
I like you using coatings for different temp results, that's the kind of hotrodding I'm into
I finally want one. I need a mini bike in my life. That's it, that's what missing...
For sure! 🚲
Poor man’s motorcycle
Beatiful and powerful engines! Great job guys!
Thank you very much!
Damn I wish my CT200EX was that quick. Good work guys that's Great!
I like the ballooning tire. It’s like and overdrive gear. That dont hurt you down low as it only kicks in at top speed
Really enjoyed your work
I agree all the fun is building the bikes I have a Baja warrior I put a 110cc engine on about 4 years ago made it street legal i am still riding it when I don’t have it apart adding new stuff fixing what needs to be fixed
I love this. Idk how I haven’t found this channel before.
Enjoy the show watch it all the time great content!!!
Thanks for the support! 💯
You're fans in Rockwood love your channel! We also love the mini bike content!
Awesome! Thank you!
this will be the first give away i enter for sure. I have a stock coleman so that engine would be a blessing and a half. fingers crossed 🤞
It would be awesome to see the top speed run done with street tires! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👍👍
Real people… real content!
Zero fake click bait! Please don’t stop keeping it Real !
Appreciate you all
Thanks for the encouragement!
You build some awesome toys
Thank you 🤗
Love the videos
Man, I love the Jackshaft mounted torque converter on that thing
Those two are really quick.would love to see the 80cc two stroke put onboard a trailmaster that would rip.
..john Australia..😎😎
Perfect video
that's one sick mini Bike 🤘
Your confession thought me that I looked at that video and it helped me be a better person
ABSOLUTELY-----> OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!. 🙂
Love what you do!
👍👍❤️
Nice video. Thanks
Wild I want one!
Leaving your kick stand down can absolutely ruin your day 😆 Good looking out by the fella at the gas station. 🔥
Thing runs pretty dang good. 🔥
I own a Coleman Axis m200 224 crank start predator modified tops at 58. She's a beast
Wow! A fellow Tennessean!!
Faqin nice az hell ... Big bark for a mini ... Sound mean as a twin
proud to be one of the early viewers to this masterpiece
I would really like to see the 460cc Predator motor in one of these bikes if it wouldn't take too many mods to the frame.
no way it would ever work!
@@JoeSmith-xq8sz, Challenge excepted.
It should fit. Strip down the stock muffler and airbox and youll see. Haven't done it yet but at least with my frame, ct200u, would totally fit in there without the engine spacer
@@edgeofdarkness6132 That's very cool. I'm hoping it will fit in a Trailmaster Hurricane 200X with aftermarket exhaust and carb. I also think with this frame the rear center bar on the frame will need to be modded/bent around the head/valve cover.
Toyota makes 300hp out of 3cyl 1.5l engine,
So 500cc per 100hp or 1cylinder per 100hp.
I know math doesn't work like that but.
With enough mod a 500cc honda gx engine should be able to get 50-60hp i hope.
They are making 25hp out of 5hp engine. So they should be able to make 60hp out of 12hp engine!.
You guys are just kick ass cool and everything you guys do is fun and cool 😎
Love y’all!!
You ever think about designing/making a custom air box location like how a dirt bike would be? Just think it would look sleek and help keep the carb clean
Oh yeah. I want the Engine. For my 13 year old twins their mini bike About to get. A refresh new Tires& Seat Coming. From GPS this week. RBG Code oh Yeah Baby. JC IS my savior too
Awesome work man love your channel! You guys know if anyone has ever built a 13hp briggs and Stratton vanguard single cylinder. I have one on my chopper build I'm making and wanna do upgrades but can't really find much info on it! Thanks have a blessed day
My Coleman CT200U-EX has the factory sprocket on the rear, and I have a TORQUE CONVERTER with the juggernaut, I have the Tillotson 225cc Performance Engine with a 24mm flat-side Mikuni carburetor and I get up to 59 mph, and if I change the sprocket, then I know I could hit over 60, but that would just slow down the take off some.
Awsome build I decided to build a 224 thanks to your video. What throttle assembly are you using? Anything special you recommend?
Great video buddy, just subscribed to your channel bud.
Hell Yeah Red Beard 🔥🤙
Don't forget about me when you give away Lonnies old engine. I'd take good care of it. 👍
Dang those things are fast.
Honda ruckus tires work for street tires on them
Should do another little bit on crankcase venting, pretty interesting
Hey man great vid but really curious whens the 999cc duro video comin out?
Seems to me the cheapest and easiest way to have a decent setup is the zip-tie on the Governor spring, 18lb valve springs, and a 58-60 tooth sprocket. Love your videos. I’m not far from you. Maryville. Stay safe. God bless.
Your killing me with the Owio? WTH ? Owio Pressure? 💕💕✌️
I mean it w love!
Owio’! 😅
Ah Donnie is a drag racer love your vid
Awesome!
Glad you think so!
I have a fully built 224 also and with a mikuni carb and performance exaust and a max torque clutch with some internal upgrades as well I’m hitting 74 mph
I'm love it thank
Great video guys - thanks! Quick question, where did you get they nylon waterproof prefilter/filter cover for the air intake? Changed to a OMB Stage 2 and I need something to protect that poor filter. Thanks!
Nice bikes
You can use 14" wheels and 14" scooter tires. They'll fit in the swingarm, and forks. However you will have to make hubs for the wheels.
Damn bro that 224 is sweet
We are all gonna be riding these pretty soon cuz gas is outa control.....
Rode mini bikes all my childhood and I never even thought about wearing a helmet. It never occurred to me. I'm lucky I made it.
Shout out on the Placebo effect, caught that haha
My mini bike with stock cam, stock flywheel, stock rod and stock piston is topping out at 63 mph. Only has 22 lb valve springs, champion rockers, pwk 28 chikuni lol and I ported the head. 12-53 gearing and a 3000rpm engagement max torque clutch
way to go RBG
now I'm scared. I just built one of these exactly how you did, except it's going into a bicycle. I ran a predator 212 for about a year now. yeah I just wasn't scared enough when I started lol
Have you considered getting one of the x pro full suspension mini bikes off of Amazon? Seems to be a less expensive mb200
This channel is cool
😎
You should visit the Coleman powersports headquarters in Tempe Arizona!!
Whose watching right now and has been here since the beginning
Once again you are da man RB how about a link for the check valve
So awesome. I’m excited to see what is done with these! I hope you read this, I have a micro sprint, it has an old Yamaha xs400 motor 5 speed. Thinking about putting a predator on it due to the xs keeps breaking. Worth it to give up the gears for a reliable predator?
Yes with a cvt
czcams.com/video/8orArer3ONc/video.html do this with a gas motor and intermediate shaft.
Awesome video brother!👍 thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Just got a manco thunderbird today! 3.5 horse torque monster!🤣 going to try and bring her back to life 🤞y’all be blessed 👍
I want to build a swing arm for my china scoot, and put one of these on it,. I already got a extra front rim to bolt a sprocket to, being the rear has the brake drum and no bearings, that's what you need, a set if 10". Or 12" maybe 13" scooter rims and tires, well a set of front rims,
The 80 cc big bore just ain't enough, being 6'5" and over 300, I need more power,
A 224 with ported head, cut it for about 200psi compression, it should make plenty, I'd want to keep the revs down a bit, and keep it quiet, to sneak around as a 50cc scooter, use a stock motorcycle muffler maybe!...
Dude I'm new to mini bike culture just got my trail master hurricane 200x and I love first time riding I believe I'm ready for more speed after my first run today...have yall Givin this engine away yet? I just found you on yt and your one of the best to watch...would love to win this! I use to be into rcs but not anymore
Great video I just wish you showed where those vent hoses go to the block up close
Have you tried changing the timing of the engines with advancement keys? There may be some more power on the table if you take the timing from 24* ish up to 32. There may be some built in timing to the billet flywheels. That would be a good question for GPS.
GPS has 32 degrees of timing built into their flywheels.
I really want a stage 4 212 motor 😍
Well shoot, I was hoping you guys would do a few rips around the Dollar General for old times sake, get the manager to come out and yell at you and all! 😂
When you grind the tip off the 'Oil-dipper' do you grind a small dish shape into it so it flings oil on the cam? I've seen a few who lose cam bearings or wristpins because the oil isn't splashed there.
In my state Shell and BP don’t put alcohol in their premium gas. Check your states requirements. My stuff runs great on it and I can leave fuel in them all winter (not recommended) with few if any problems.
Hey red beard ever used a wiseco forged piston in a 212 I'm currently building a stage 4 plus and was wandering if there is one that will work with the stock rod length
