Awesome Jimmy! Thanks for letting us join in, it was fun times! You'll have to visit us some time (and bring Derek along too!). :)
Absolutely! What a fantastic end result too!!!
thank you guys!!! happy we got this record xoxo
Hey Neil this looks suspiciously like Peter Brocks first car🤔
Did you give Jimmy any inspiration on this build?
It was so great seeing all of your contributions to this project and how you pushed Jimmy even further than he would have gone. I only wish you were still going to be around for the big event!
I just said to myself-hey, I know that guy! Love seeing the collaboration! Love your content Pask!
Diresta and Pask in the same vid?!? Must be our lucky day!
Wow Neil Pask in the house! Pretty sure Neil and Jimmy together could build just about anything
I've often said Neil could probably make a jig to construct a nuclear plant in one operation. lol
Yep, they even built a friendship.
Absolutely!
بارك الله فيك
What a great build!
💪🏼🤘🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@jimmydiresta To be precise, this is a CVT transmission (Continuously Variable Transmission)
3:10 “This is a wheel, it’s wheely good. It goes wound.” Thirdeen seconds of high class comedy, and more.
Haa yeah that's how I ROLL
IVT or CVT infinitely/continuously variable transmission
Most commonly found in a golf cart
also snowmobiles and UTVs
@@tmmtmm and go karts, Priuses, and sub-compact cars around the world lol
It works as a CVT. As the rpm rises, it modifies the torque coming from the engine to the wheels. it mimics changing gears to a closer ratio as the rpm increases, as the rpm decreases it brings the ratios further apart like 1st gear would be in a vehicles transmission.

Diresta and pask? Love when these CZcams juggernauts collab
Nice!!Love the Vice Grip Garage shirt
Hmm Pask Makes, wonder what he's doing there. Hopefully a big collab. Great to see you working together.
The @ViceGripGarage t-shirt was a nice touch too! :)
Lot's of big brain in that shed!!! Neil, Corin and Jimmy!?! whoa..
clutch is called a cvt [continuesly variable transmission]
You might want to come up with a plan B for the wheels. This one's aren't meant to hold up to a sideload. They're meant to lean into corners.
Fantastic build! Great way to break it in in Jimmy’s speedway. I see a whole new class of “retro” style model T cart races on the horizon.
Corin and neil , what a team. Cheers 4 sharing sir.
What a lovely surprise to see Pask over there.... Cheers guys!
Nice to see Corin there, 🇦🇺
Hey that’s me lol
Di Resta & Pask TOGETHER !!!!!!!!!!!!! The Super Best \m/
Great to see Neil and Corin!
Cool build! I was surprised to see Neil at your shop. He's awesome! Reminds me of Popeye 😂
That this was a group project makes it so much better! I loved the teaser shots of the trial run weaved into the build video. Thanks for sharing Jimmy!
Pask in the house! Best 2 makers on YT!
thank you !
I'm 44 y.o, owner and pre owned of some nice cars, but a cool go kart like this is still a childhood dream of mine.
Love seeing the lads from Australia here! (FWIW his full last name is Paskin, not just Pask.)
steering arms should point to center of rear axle, king pin should be angled so it points to center of spot where tire touches the ground. Also should have king pins rolled back a few degrees. Great cart and nice to see the others helping!! Thanks for the video Jimmy.
I was very pleased to see the details you have outlined, the geometry of the front axle/steering components will make a world of difference, good to see you have a simple explanation that is absolutely correct, 👍
You're such an inspiration Jimmy! Not only in making, but life in general. Watched a documentary on you last night on youtube and just wanted to thank you for the inspiration over the years. I've been watching since Hammered & Dirty Money and followed you along the years. From when I was a teen, now I'm 35. Now I'm working on getting my own land oasis's and have my work spaces in Northern California. Even though I have never met you in person, I can tell you're a genuinely cool dude and when I "grow up" (don't think we ever will) I want to be like you! Love your videos and wanted to say Thanks!
Paskin and Corin in the house!
It was a fun few days!
Sure, we'll just whip up a go-cart... sounds easy, right?
So many details!! At one point I said, this does NOT look sturdy... then Jimmy adds steel rod trusses and it becomes solid as a rock.
Very cool that some bona fide craftsman stopped by to lend a hand.
Now you need to make a mini street cleaner to drive around the track and scrub it nice and clean for the races!
The look on your face at the end Jimmy, bloody brilliant. Overgrown children across the world (myself included) are green with envy.
So now we need a race. Jimmy diresta vs. This old Tony. Would be epic
Jimmy buying Starret when Harbor freight would suit his needs just fine.
Sick build so inspiration seeing pask and corin play there part to. Really showcases the versatility and use of every machine you have. Definately one of my favorites so far. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You did a lot of tig welding in this one!!! 💪💪💪 cant wait till Saturday we are gonna tear that track up!!!
❤❤❤
Three Kings! Great piece of work!
Shop , Tool Heaven ! Enjoy the variety of projects !
This looks incredible and I can’t wait to see it in the flesh! Even keeping up on Instagram there are so many more parts on this build that I thought were off the shelf components that you actually built from scratch. But besides that, the visual appeal of this thing is just off the charts. I didn’t think you could outdo last year’s build but it looks like you did🙌🏻
English wheel 😮 this shop just gets cooler and cooler 😎
Catskill Customs ®️
I can never get enough of your videos. I’ve been a fan for a very long time. I learned so much from your work. Thanks for always sharing your talents with us. I love making Halloween props so my favorite one is the first coffin build. Must have watched that 100 times lol
Wow, thank you!❤
My 2 favorite makers in the same video! Diresta and Pask!
@@jimmydirestastill have your track?? Got to do a huge go-cart event👍👍
@@mattgraham1983that's literally what this is for, haha
Still can't get around the fact that you got Neil Paskin just casually joining your project. On a more general level I think the tools in a shop matters less than all the people either in the shop or along your maker journey. Great build!
So good. All the skills with some great builders. Nice to see Pask Makes with Jimmy doing their thing. So good
Wow! What a fabulously exciting, swift & awesome build, everything coming together into a splendid & beautiful red race machine, the components competing with each other to take their station without delay as though in a racing pit stop, desperate for the track. Such a joy & delight to watch! Thank you for sharing!
.... Woo hoo ... You finally made a go kart .. Awesomeness right there
It's a like a CVT (centrifical variable timing) transmission
I thought that too.
This was awesome! I got a real "1950's Popular Mechanics Projects For Young Boys" vibe from this!
We loved being able to watch the full process of this build!
Beautiful, Jimmy! Amazing work!!! 😃
Unfortunately, Neil shouldn't be there anymore... But if he is, give him a hug for me!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Super fun build, love the jalopy look! I've been following Neil for a while now and love his work too. It's fun to see you both working on a project together. I've heard him talking about "my mate Corin" many times, so it's fun to finally see him in front of the camera. Thanks for sharing!
he has a better head for Radio, from someone who knows him....
Loved the build and VGG teeshirt.
Awesome job, Jimmy!
That thing looks like it'll go at least 50 smiles an hour.😁😁😁😁😁😁
Cool build! Thanks for posting and thumbs up!
Very cool
Some king pin inclination would help steering and tyres immensely!
I think it’s a CVT, Constant Velocity Transmission. My Hybrid had one. (Pask Makes!!! Whoop!)
Keep the wonderment of a child it is a beautiful thing to see such joy.
What an awesome video! I love how you just jumped right in and put clips of it running as the intro. The kart looks amazing too! ... love you man!
If Neil is there, you know it gets done right and with some style!
Pask is gonna need an English wheel now.
That has been said! :)
This would be so awesome. Great project.
@PaskMakes Glad you're having a good time in the US! I looked for you at Blade Show but never saw you :(
All of that, AND a Vice Grip Garage t-shirt?
Life is complete.
I was gonna say, you could've gone with smaller square section, but then i remembered, we're not that young and light anymore. :)) Great go-kart!
DiresCart! Cant wait to watch! Looks authentiek and solid. Thank You!
Cvt. constantly variable transmission. found in every twist and go scooter world over. Pretty flawless design in fairness.
What I like about Jimmy's videos: MOAR! fab, less talk!
Great video. love the build.
The transmission you use is a VARIOMATIC, invented by Hub van Doorne, Eindhoven-The Netherlands in the ‘60th. It was first used in the DAF33 automobil, a funny little dutch familycar, my father owned one.
I like it!! 😊!! Thank you!! Mic'2023
Very cool Jimmy ! I want to build one myself
Had you ever built a go-kart from scratch before ??? Was awesome watching all of you working on the same project. My father used to build go-karts and mini-sprints and it's always been something on my bucket list of things to make.
Nice one..Lil Red reminds me of the Lil Rascles 🙌❤️
Great work jimmy and I love the vicegrip garage shirt!!
Nice work, that cart has a lot of style! It was interesting see see the sheet metal work, the fenders make it extra special.
Excelente proyecto muy bien desarrollado y mejor ejecutado maestro, un cart muy original y peculiar, gracias a usted y a sus compañeros colaboradores, un cordial saludo y por supuesto un merecido like desde Narón (Galicia)👍🤓😜
A little steampunk air this Kart 😍
Phileas Fogg would certainly have used it for his world tour.
Another superb achievement, thank you for this show Mr.
WOW! cool build and great video work!
Amazing! Always the just about perfect ratio of exact versus eyeballed!
The technician and the artist all in one craftsman.
Always a treat to watch, always something valuable new to learn.
Also there might be scratch built go carts before but the 20s styling on this one is right on the money (expect perhaps the CVT and the disk brake, but again they both somehow don't seem to subtract from the style much if any)
That was a great build. I hope to make it up there one year, at least to see everyone else run.
I have a feeling there are some parades in that buggys future !! Nice work Jimmy.
It's videos like this that made me subscribe 5or6 years ago, just class👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much for having us @Jimmydiresta What a great few days! Super pleased to have been able to contribute!
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Great go cart Jimmey.
Cool cart Jimmy!- i need to learn how to weld ,so i can build my kids one!
What a scream, 😂love it!
Good tutorial build and Assembly
Excellent, i loved this ❤
Great wee build, a bit of a tweak of the king pin inclination would be of benefit😊
Good job!!
such a cool shop!
Instead of using a CVT transmission it would be sick to upgrade it to a Shifter Kart because that classic feel would really complete this build, that and some proper scooter rims and tires
That was wheely good……..while they lasted. The jalopy is looking great, would love to see a couple of feet shaped pedals for your stop and go , and maybe a bit of nitrous 😁
Really cool. Thanks for the video. Stay safe.
Great build! Jimmy sure loves machining! Very cool Jimmy is friends with Darren (Mustie1) and share the same passion.
I see that Vise Grip Garage t-shirt, you sly devil.
I love those old Flyers, great build...
Great crew! Very cool Build... as always
Built it then drove the wheels off! Awesome
It's called a CVT "Continuous Variable Transmission" DAF made it 1958 for their passenger cars. Others have followed.
Nifty little thing. :)
DAF even used it in Formula 3, to good effect.
