You know what? My most hated characters are Jamie and Manon.
With Jamie, I block 1 time, and it's like a never ending barrage of multi-hitting attacks, with jabs sporadically thrown in between, that lead into other multi-hitting attack barrages. And if I press a button at the wrong time, the guy's combos seem like they just don't end. Jamie is personally my most feared character. And I play Cammy... so it's not the matchup, I don't think. I just don't do well against Jamie.
Every time I start a Jamie fight, he backs away to full screen to try to drink. So immediately, I'm chasing him down, trying to stop him from drinking. And randomly, he'll throw out a sweep that hits me all the way from Narnia, or a drive rush into heavy punch that leads into an endless barrage of multi-hitting attacks that test my patience to it's limits (can I presss a button now?).
And Manon is so irritating. Again, they always back away and just randomly lunge with that ex-overhead, or that damn jump-scare command grab of hers. And her jump heavy kick... I swear, that move has some jank hit box to it because it's hit me from what looks like should be well outside of her range when she starts the animation in the air. Playing Cammy, fighting against Manon feels like an uphill battle. I know a lot of her stuff is punishable on block. But I find it harder to predict and react to whether she's going ex-overhead, spinning low, or command grab from mid screen than I do just reacting to drive rushes.
jamie sounds like a knowledge check for you maybe. you might have to just lab him a lot and see what's going on there. but I agree about manon. she is annoying as hell. I play ryu btw
I play a good bit of Cammy, and for sure is seems like Manon has a slight advantage. But light kick and light punch works wonders against her gameplan to stack medals.
@@eml0073 Yeah, I also struggle with Jamie (and Kim) and that's absolutely why. I know a lot of those moves are unsafe and all and they're not great characters. I just need to put in the effort to learn when it's my turn but they come up rarely enough that I haven't done it.

John plays Schrodinger’s JP: he’s simultaneously the best and worst character in the game depending on whether you’re playing him or fighting him.
It makes the mirror match a real doozy
Ok hold on: OD Amnesia is a big risk, but so is every other invincible reversal in the game. You can't say "OD Amnesia has killed a ton of JPs too," because, whether it works or not, it fundamentally changes how you have to play against him. Once you finally get in on Dhalsim, you don't need to respect any invincible reversals, after all.
Right now he has no weaknesses whatsoever. If he didn't have OD Amnesia, he'd actually have weak defense.
Yeah, when they said this dude’s weakness is drive rush, I was like “this mf has disjointed normals and a reversal, he’s doing just fine.”
Exactly right, the only argument you can make FOR OD Amnesia is that it's not invincible to an OD meaty fireball which Ryu can setup quite easily in the corner but other than that single matchup, it does completely switch the shift of attack a JP's defence, especially as a grappler. These guys both sorta have shitty ass ideas of the game though and they try really hard to act like they know everything about it lol.
He would still have jab confirms that put you full screen , The best anti air normal in the game and an air throw.

I agree, I play Sim and I feel bad playing Giefs. People tend to hate Dhalsim in my experience because win or lose, I hardly ever get the runback.
Sim hard counters Lily so bad it's so hard to get a windstock and his heavy punch can stop spire when mixed in with fireballs.
The only reason why I don't hate Luke is cause in World tour he so friendly and wants u to get better, he's a great supporting character but playing against him I do see the hate

I hate Juri in this game; feels like it's her turn for days on end.
Juri is the dumbest character. Shes not the best, but the fact that she can just constantly spam mp all day is just stupid.

But I don't hate that so much, really. Its a patience test, and is not that bad once you accept it.
It is usually very polar: if they are dumb, it is your problem to solve it. If they are smart, they will deserve their win. Hating her just makes you feel more guilty.
Compare it with Honda: even the best and smartest players become copy paste head&butt machines without any redeeming quality. Even if you win against Honda, you still feel defeated.
Just for some context on JP. I'm very new to fighting games (except for random stuff we played as kids on ps2).. I picked up SF6, learned the basics, chose Marisa and scrubbed my way to Plat... then just stopped. Not ragequit or anything, just couldn't be bothered opening the game anymore. I was fine with all the normal bs in the game, but I just didn't want to load up the game only to face the (at launch in low ranks) constant JP after JP when I didn't know how to deal with anything he did. I get that it is scrubby, but for some reason learning my way around other stuff was fine, but JP just made me mentally check out and not want to bother.
Kimberly is annoying as hell. Once you're stuck in the blender, it's a never ending guessing game of which mixups she'll go for. And her combos seem to last forever.

Kimberly’s really fun to play. Past plat 1 everyone knows to check all her gimmicks. I main Kim so it’s hard to imagine if the other player is frustrated when fighting me. I just get excited that 1/20 times someone fell for fake nonsense and I got a mixup or yolo run-slide ko!
Same love Kim, but as I climb I've had to learn to employ her neutral and speed because everyone's looking for her shenanigans, but nobody's looking for a straight-up brawl.

Also I like Luke, I play him as well. I dropped Ken for Luke because Luke just has better neutral. On top of all that, Aleks Le is such a goated man that he made me like my least favorite SF5 character. I mean now whatever Luke does reminds me of his memes and it's always fun. Beast mode baby.
Hard disagree on Juri: A lot of people love Juri's aesthetic, but a lot of people hate playing against her. She's got a pretty mindless and obnoxious gameplan.

Below master rank maybe, but anyone that says juri’s easy either is NOT master rank with her and can’t reach that. Or they have the ability to reach master with anybody (like iDom). The first statement of the two is the vast majority. Go hit master with juri if she’s so easy 😂😂. Cuz personally after grinding that high with a character like Juri it makes playing all the OTHER characters easy asf. You need to know the game to play juri simple as that
Juri's design does a lot of the heavy lifting for her popularity. You can tell cause kinda dipped in 5 when they gave that wack ass cat suit. Juri was cool in 4 but became obnoxious real quickly.
Agreed on people calling Juri easy. There’s so much bias in accessing character difficulty among content creators in this game because we’ve sat with the game for almost a year now. “Everybody plays Juri” so she’s super easy to play. Completely ignoring stock management, FSE optimization, and all of the things we had to learn about the base game before bringing out her potential (which still hasn’t been fully explored).
@@juggbot4572uhh i mean, if u learn Juri to the highest tier, how could that skill transfer to someone like Dhalsim, Aki, Zangief, or Chun? Maybe YOU can pickup those characters quickly, but Juri sure as hell cant help you play someone Dhalsim. Saying character is easy dosent mean there easy to climb with, it means at a baseline level, that character can be picked up and played quicky. Not saying Juri is easy to pickup, but she for sure isnt “hard mode” by ANY stretch

I started out playing chun li and Jamie.
When i fought a guile he read me like a boik, did some absolutely gnarly combos and pressured me on wake up with the booms. This didn't demoralize me but instead motivated me. So i checked out some guile combo and guide videos. Minblowing
The most boring guiles to play against are the turtles. But the players who put a good mix between zoning and agressive play. It's very nice. Like a tug of war. Lay down the agression when they least expect it. Then force them to reach into YOUR territory.
So i picked him up, and he's waay harder than i thought. But also alot more fun. The constant mental stack of keeping charge combined with baiting and playing with your opponents heads is awesome.
His more advanced combos require extemely precise timing/input.
Currently platinum 4 with Guile and i'm having a blast.
I never hated Guile, the same way i never hated zangief. They're just specialists and great to fight to get out of thw unga bunga rushdown mindset.
I can't really hate Luke. He's such a bro in World Tour. He also pretty much drops everything to protect Ken and Guile's family at the drop of a hat. He stopped travelling the world and rooted down in Metro City to look after Ken and Mel. He's a swell guy. The punchable face is unfortunate, but we all know that kind of guy in our life, lmao.
I just hate that Juri has 50 plus frames on everything on hit.
But JP? The fires of a thousand suns. Only thing he’s missing is a one-button Raging Demon.
I would rather fight Kimberly than Cammy. Cammy's mixup is far more frightening.

I feel I'm such a strange person to ask because I really don't have a "hated" list, it's just a list of who I mentally do well against vs who mentally shakes me up. Cammy gets rough but I'm not mad at what she's doing to me, same with DeeJay (he's too happy I could never hate) etc. Guile is so fun to fight, I enjoy winning the battle vs Zoning (same with JP). I think I just fuck with this game hard, so it's not easy to find characters I hate. I play Ken and Gief, so idk how much that influences my opinions but do with this what you will.

Currently I hate more the JP players than JP as a character and his gameplan. This also applies to Ken players. Insistently denying how brutal these characters are just rub me the wrongest way. Compare with the dumbest Luke players: they behave like cocky children, you cant truly hate them because they become just funny.

Never seen a fireball that requires blocking low nor overhead. If Juri's firewall doest require blocking low and Sagat's high tiger is Not an overhead; then why does JP gets those advantages?

As someone who has played Cammy some in SF6 but is maining Deejay, I actually like fighting Cammy. She lacks an overhead and a grounded command grab. It's straight up footsies, rush down and great supers on a glass cannon.

I personally think Capcom made Jamie bottom tier to balance against him being a cocky braggart. I’d be extremely tilted if I had to listen to him constantly run his mouth. As is, whenever I get whipped by a Jamie player, I feel like they put their money where their mouth is.

Super hard disagree on Kimberly and Lilly being charismatic characters. They’re easily the lamest newcomers in 6. As their usage rates reflect that as well. Easily and it’s not even close. When it comes to charisma the ones that have in spades is Ken, dee Jay, rashid, Marisa, jaimie and Luke (love him or hate him he’s one of the most charismatic characters to come out in awhile)
Dee Jay is finally good after never being top tier in any game. Since New Challengers, he’s just been alright or bad. Finally feeling privileged for once makes me very happy.
Catalyst has my personal list almost exactly except id move Sim and Dj both up one tier each. Coming from a Jamie main with a JP in my pocket
To be fair for ssome people are coming around to Luke specifically SF6 version of Luke where he got a little charisma due to World tour trying to help your avatar player character and when you get to know him a better he's basically gamer like yourself. It also helps the fact that Aleks Le is doing amazing job portraying him and creating memes around Luke that is hilarious. Keep in mind tho that Ken was the original douche of Street Fighter, the only difference with him is that he succeeded in life and is rich(until SF6 of course lol).
And as for his gameplay it's pretty basic for even any newbie getting into Street Fighter 6 with the best normals and even best supers. Personally the real reason I like Luke more is that he's not another whitebread protagonist that's either super serious & have an inner power within him that makes him special.
That aside of course these 6 characters I do hate however but I still think they are cool in a sense are: JP, Rashid, Marisa, Guile, Ken & Akuma.

3. Marisa hits like truck like Zangief but is more agile than him somehow

5. Ken even tho I like him, he is downright abnoxious in SF6
6. Even tho he's not out yet at the time of this I can already tell he's gonna be another Ken problem but worse.
Juri has everything hated in this game : broken drush, far reaching cancelable cr mk, throw loops, dive kick, crazy good supers (all), fireball drush, disjointed 6f cr mp active for 4f, +2 oB st mp ... she is great. Her only weakness is her damage output. But if they nerf dmg for season 2, I bet she won't be touched and will skyrocket to god tier status.

The more I think about it I just absolutely hate fighting half the roster lmao.
Half your placements are just purely based on community and rep and the other half are based solely on the amount of pro's maining them.
Developers did not do a good job with JP. He has no downsides and excels at every aspect of the game. JP and Guile shouldn't also have amazing buttons, and great offensive rushdown pressure. Every character gets punished and put in the corner except JP, who has a free get out of jail card so players are forced to reset neutral and play parry simulator every single time JP makes a mistake. It's unbearable listening to a main constantly pretending he has zero issues or reasons people don't like him. It is the hypocrisy to call Ken main's out when you are doing the same thing.
I don't hate Ryu.......I hate how people online play ryu.......the most well rounded ground character and yet when I play them I've never seen another character spend 70 percent of the match jumping. The moment you get them to half health they turn footies into jumpsies.....its so irritating
What I found interesting I never felt anger playing as top tier and top represented Ken but when starting with new, low tier Ed, even learning that strange new playstyle, so not nearly as good as with Ken, so it wasn't these two reasons but the character, if the feeling is correct. I think he's an underdog in every possible way, so this was strange and an opportunity to ask if there's something to it...

DeeJay is an amazing character design and I'm glad he's strong, but I hate playing against him more than any other character. He is an extremely strong character in the cheapest way possible.

I think we're at a point where people just feels sorry for Lily. I've had so many sets in battle hub where after people acknowledge how much of a struggle she is. Being a grappler should not be an excuse for making her so free to rushdown while also struggling against zoners, Sim and JP are dreadful to fight with her.
At least we have the Lily dual wields everything art.

I've hated Luke since his release in 5, and I didn't even play that dumpster fire of a game. He's very hate-able. Luke the type of guy to pass footballs to himself and catch it with one hand while diving. Luke would win a slot machine jackpot on the first pull and yell out "skill issue" to everyone else.

Kimberly was my main for the beiteo months. Her damage is next to nothing. I could hit hit my opponent 25 35 times then 5 11 hits from my opponent . She's my favorite character in the game. Haven't played her in 5 months
Guile had 2 special moves for decades until Sonic Blade, and he's progressed/evolved the least of the original 8 imo. Any hate directed towards him is basically hate that Capcom deserves for doing nothing creative with the guy all these years. ☺️

I used to hate a lot of characters in SF5 because this game was really unfair and one sided most of the time depending on your character. I don't hate any character in SF6 because the game offers many options to play around anything. Some MU are harder but more interesting. Great game !
Can't agree on Jamie, he may be a low tier character but he was the one I was thinking when seeing the title. I h*te playing against him, the playstyle and moves, and I also don't like the character. I wouldn't have put him on top of this list but a lot higher. I'd rather play against Juris and Kens and other rushdowns, I just like that interplay more...

Catalysts list is almost spot on for me, except trade blanka and honda for chun and juri. Raptor was right about rashids lvl 2 but man some of the other things he was saying was just a hard no lol.

@@azahalbiora we gonna leave what character i play out of this because i know where itll go. I win most of my matchups vs these characters. In fact I have an 80%wr against cammy. Doestn change that theser characters just spam spam spam and its just annoying to watch

My least favorite match by far as a Sim player is the mirror. Fighting against Sim is already not super fun(sorry everyone else) but the mirror is absolute torture.
Also, as a Sim player I totally agree with JP Jo(h)n. I know Kim and Jamie aren't great but it's a super not fun match for me.

I like luke.... im not even a luke main but i like his character hes just so upbeat and i do like his moves they just have so much oomph to em~ Tho i do hate ken mainly cause for like a solid month every 8 out of 10 matches i had were kens and he just has so much 1 mistake on my part and im being juggled across the screen into a super for most of my health. But character wise i do like him and his default outfit really sells the down on his luck hobo vibe.
