Top 10 Strongest Street Fighter Characters according to Story debate

- Usually when we talk about character strength it's in relation to competitive tier lists, but this week Catalyst, MajinTenshinhan, and myself decided to dig into the canonical lore of Street Fighter and discuss (debate) which fighters from over the years are technically the most powerful within the world Capcom has created.
There are a ton of potential potholes to step in here as the franchise story has been told over the course of 35 years by different people and out of chronological order, and is beholden to the not-so-conducive-for-storytelling fighting game format that tends to be filled with a ton of non-canonical "what if?" scenarios. Needless to say, we don't exactly see eye to eye on some of our picks.

I love how Capcom took that saying “I can beat you with one hand tied behind my back” and turned it into a character 😂
Its actually:
Capcom Designer: Damn this Yamazaki from FF/KOF is so cool fighting one handed. Ill emulate that like I did Iori Yagami with Remy. No one will know.
fun fact, oro limits himself because he's afraid he'll accidently KILL his opponent
So True and he's the 2nd Oldest Street Fighter do to the fact that Necalli is over 500 years old and also another fact is that Ora is actually from Japan but decided to live in Brazil I forgot why.
No FUCKING SHIT brah 😀
It's true he is very powerful and wise plus his mastery of his rare martial arts makes him 1 of a kind like the lottery winner 😆
It’s litterally said in the video
This is actually true. Oro is no joke.
He only fights with one arm because it would be grossly unfair if he used the other one.
Surely Gen should be higher. The guy fought evenly with Akuma whilst having a debilitating disease.
This. This on every level.
Facts
Great trialogue, especially the segment on Bison.
Does his almost invincibility (before Ken breaks Bison’s brainwashing) in the animated movie count for anything?
Oro needs a story moment like Akuma had in sf2 where he bodies m.bison with a raging demon. Let him kill Gill since the dude can resurrect.
Gill wasn't testing Akuma. He was legitimately killed, but Akuma didn't know he could resurrect. Also, in SFV it was implied in the story that he lost several times to Akuma before Akuma got fed up and used the SGS against him. Bison also clowned Gill. The problem with Gill is that he isn't really strong, as Alex would beat him, and Alex lost to Ryu. Gill's only true power is that he can keep on resurrecting, but he doesn't even get strong like Ryu or Akuma
Gill aint shit lol
@@AnonymousC2218Yeah we get it, you've said this multiple times already.😊
It's not that he wasn't testing Akuma, but he didn't see the point of giving it all since he could resurrect anyway. SFV doesn't imply any of that, if anything it establishes Gill is in a different league from almost everyone as he easily outmatches Urien (who is around Bison-level) and G.
Bison facing him is from a crossover ending, and you don't even know the details. Alex has never been shown as one of the strongest characters, and Ryu owning him solidifies that. And for some reason Gill and the Illuminati feel themselves well in 3rd Strike, so Alex didn't do anything.
@@NinjaWorldWarrior16 Testing or not...Gill can't be Akuma.
@@Arnell_Long I don't disagree, but he could potentially overcome base Akuma, forcing him to go Shin.
Anyone else laughed when they said "Oro is a neutral character" cough, VT2, cough
Neutral in with regards to good/evil is what the video explains, it's talking about the lore, story of the characters.
@Sho_Ryu_Ken thank you, but i do know the difference between gameplay and morality. But it's not fun, if I need to explain the joke.
Your analysis of Gill is based on a lot of unrealized theory like you said. You talk about the endings where he "sandbags" as if they are canon. There is no concrete proof that Gill could beat or equal Akuma. His own brother can give him a run for his money, the same one that loses to Chun-Li.
During SF5, we can surmise that Gill's power through his conduit Charlie ultimately could not stop Bison. Only the Power of Nothingness could counter Psycho Power and that is why Gill tried to sabotage Bison in SF5.
This leads to the only logical conclusion that Gill feared Bison because Bison at his peak was in fact stronger (Kolin even guesses as much in ASF).
Bison has been fighting for at least twice as long as Gill has been alive after all, a master in his own right, assuming he hasn't lived many more lives than we what know.
So the more accurate order for the top 5 would be:
Oro (SF3) > Akuma (SF6) => Ryu (SF6) => Bison (SF5) > Gill (3S)
Exactly, he did nothing canon wise through 4 games, just tried to insert himself in my place only to constantly get put in place by third generation fighters and even his own brother, pathetic, there's a reason why I am called The MIGHTY BISON, onto SF 6, JP will pay for his treacherous act, F.A.N.G and A.K.I., well done, Hehehehehehehe Hahahahahahahahaaaaaaa..... 10 steps ahead......😈
@@BisonII I mean, 2 of the 3 guys in this video think Bison isn't even top 5 when the whole Street Fighter universe understands him to be as such. He's the only character to be shown able to handle MULTIPLE Street Fighters simultaneously in canon. In SF2 Aftermath video, he was literally 1v5ing Ryu, Ken, Guile, Cammy, and Chun-Li.
Bison WITHOUT enhancements is Top 5, and with enhancements (at full power hypothetically) we can infer is Top 2 if not Top 1 which is why he becomes a global threat.
Right Gill aint shit lol
It's been discussed before that Aftermath's canonicity is questionable, and it doesn't appear to be what the SF5 & 6 writers are following. Regarding Gill, he's certainly above Urien (maybe not by a mile, but noticeably enough), and we can assume from Urien's quote to Chun-Li that he didn't quite fight seriously. She entertained him and that sufficed to him.
The fact he didn't simply show up to stop Bison in SF5 I think is explainable by the fact he didn't feel like it, it wasn't the appropriate time to step out of the shadows. Bison was a global threat and a battle with him would've caused unwanted attention.
That’s the issue. We don’t KNOW how strong Gill is. Because we have conflicting data, we can speculate. It’s better to not lowball him considering what we see he is capable of in his moveset and possible endings. In Ryu’s ending, he is struggling to lift rocks in SF3. In Gill’s ending, he makes Alex another form of fire and ice and parts an ocean like he’s Moses! And it’s not a joke ending like Hugo’s either. So to say he can’t beat Bison isn’t right. He may not be able to…but we don’t know.
Gill has no pride in terms of battle record, so he will lose any fight in order to further the plans of the Illuminati. He lost to Yun, but essentially made them his gang members by allowing Yun and Yang to run the city. He lost to Dudley and gave him his car back, but it was because he was entertained and wanted to reward him. He lost to Urien just so he could legally take the position of emperor in his organization. In the cross game, Gill is hanging out, gets ambushed by Bison, resurrected, and just watched Bison fly away, and didn’t even chase him. He was just like, “what’s up with that dude? 😂 “. When someone takes a super psycho crusher and just gets back up and goes back to reading…can’t just shrug that off.
I was having a bleh day so an hour of event hubs is really nice rn 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Can't believe 2 of the 3 Eventhubs think that Bison is weak. Bison is the embodiment of evil. Think it was Rose and Dalsim that said as long as evil exists Bison will exist. He cannot be destroyed. In the animated movie he beat Guile easily, beat Ken easily. Needed Ken and Ryu and some plot Armour for them to beat him. The 4 heavenly kings are subservient to him and he would beat Sagat, Vega and Balrog.
What’s weak is their grasp of the canon. They didn’t even include Gouken in the top 10 when he beat Akuma in SF4.
@@ouranos0101
For real. Gouken is top five, easy.
Yeah they got bison WAY wrong.
Having cody over gen is crazy
Ikr 😂😂
Based off memory, Gen fought Akuma to a draw in Alpha. So I guess it depends where we draw the line as he got sick in SF4 and is presumed "dead"
@@ficroulaud Yeah, in Alpha, Gen fought Akuma to a draw, but Akuma is leagues above that now, and Gen was getting weaker. Akuma didn't kill him because he was sick, but Gen kept coming back, and in SFV, we see him fighting Akuma and Akuma presumably kills him so... ...I wouldn't rate Gen above Cody.
someone needed to cut the dude in the middle's mic, he was absolutely on crack when he brought up cody
@@ToyotaKudoFan How? Cody has shown he can defeat top fighters, and isn’t even impressed by them. Is it because he doesn’t have a Naruto anime style look or moveset? The game is called “Street Fighter” and Cody is the only one who effectively knows how to fight on the street.
Gen fought Alpha Akuma to a draw, but got very weak afterwards. Cody can bust down walls that would take canon fire to break with simple punches. Why exactly would somebody be on crack for thinking he is top 10?
Ingrid is the most powerful Street Fighter character. She's a time traveling goddess and created Psycho Power
Been hoping they'd have a game with her in it
Akuma n Oro. Ingrid could be second or third in list
@@SamuelSocceresports thing is Gill survived the Raging Demon due to his resurrection technique.... So I'm wondering how he stacks up with Akuma and Oro
@@Phoenix_KDE but at the same time he can't beat akuma. N though he survive but it'll always keep beating him down.
Yeah but she's not canon at least yet
Where is Gouken. His survival into SF5 implies that he defeated Akuma for Ryus soul and even mentored him further
I thought they went back on Akuma killing Bison being canon. Because if you say that Akuma did take him down in SF2, then Bison's soul survived a move, designed to destroy the soul of an individual who committed evil deeds, in his weakest form, from behind with no knowledge of Akuma's presence, and wound up coming back stronger.
Also, they ask about all the fights he won, talk about the fight he had with Ryu in 5, and ignored him bodying Chun-Li, Necalli, and Nash, with Necalli and Nash being one right after the other.
They never even said it happened, it's fan lies that people believe for whatever reason. Not the only one either
It's certainly not a 'fan theory'... Akuma killing Bison is implied in one of the SF4 Akiman costume designs, then there's the SF2 Akuma ending in SFV:AE. He's the only one who could've destroyed his body, not just defeat.
The SGS doesn't seem to be a soul-attacking move in Japanese canon.
@@NinjaWorldWarrior16 Akuma SFV 2 arcade ending doesn't count, since those endings are all redrawned versions of SF2 original endings.
@@Daniel-lg7bo While it's true, they still use this kind of endings to clear up some stuff. If there had been a 5v1 battle where Bison did the suicide explosion, at least one of them would've referred to that. So if his SF2 body was destroyed somehow, Akuma is the most likely character to do it.
@@NinjaWorldWarrior16 But they really don't, they just make everything more confusing.
I love this convo! Y’all should have included Ingrid canon or not! She may be the most powerful of them all and gets no light. I would also love a DLC “Oro with both arms” Oro unbound if you will. At least make him a secret boss character that you can only unlock after specific requirements. Also “He was resurrected after being in Roses’ body”…now I see why she is so popular 😂
Good episode and debate guys, I would like to add a little bit of context to dictator's perspective too, originally he was a cameo character in SF IV, however by the end of the history he was behind many of the events that happened, defeated Seth with ease, and basically alongside the heroes, mainly Ryu, dismantled S.I.N. after the branch has outlived its usefulness, also even without the chopper's aid Nash would not have beaten him, and he's also responsible for Juri's family's death.
I thought he'd only taken her eye. Where is the piece about her family from? Afaik all her biography bits are as reliable as the Joker's backstory lol
he took her eye twice@@Hontonoki
Rose isn't in a relationship with Guy. Guy has been engaged (probably now married) to Rena Genryusai.. Maki's sister. That's been known since Final Fight 2.
Rose and Guy have heavy ties after the events of Final Fight games that are told in the SF franchise. It's not outright stated but heavily implied that they're in a relationship.
@@jonathangrey9365 they aren't dating at all. You can even look at all the Capcom wikis on the database
Rena (麗奈, Rena?) is Genryusai's elder daughter, Maki's older sister, and Guy's fiancée. Like her father, she was kidnapped by the Mad Gear gang and later rescued in Final Fight 2.
RELATIONSHIP
Zeku (master)
Rena Genryusai (fiancée)
Maki Genryusai (fellow apprentice)[10]
Kimberly Jackson (apprentice)
Rose only views both Guy and Ryu as friends but ultimately knows that both of them are who she needs to destroy Bison.
Guy realizes this in both his ending and her ending in IV that she's a vital part in stopping Bison, and Ryu plays a vital part because Bison was after his ties to Sataui no Hado, same with Rose for her soul power
There's 0 implications towards them dating .. so idk where you got that from.
It was never mentioned in Final Fight 3. That was Cody and Jessica breaking up as Jessica wanted to study abroad and Cody was continuously getting in trouble.
@@Deznere Check out Rose's quotes to Zeku in SF5. Guy also rescues Rose several times from danger, etc. It's in there if you wish to dig for it.
@@jonathangrey9365 Guy only rescues Rose twice, Once Guy becomes Bushinryu Grandmaster, Zeku tells him he will be needed to stop a great evil, that evil being M. Bison (Alpha 2), Keep in mind Alpha 2/3 is when Final Fight 2 is happening, which when Maki has to rescue her family including Rena, Guy's Fiancee. Guy is rescuing Rose from M Bison because Rose is the manifestation of Bison's Good side having a portion of his soul (Alpha 3 story) She wants to destroy Bison, Bison wants to use her as a host to his power, he nearly succeeds until Guy rescues her while the Nash and Company destroy the Pyscho drive. Guy and Rose i first meet in Alpha 3 while he's pursuing Shadaloo and M.BIson this makes Rose aware Guy's master told him of the threat of Bison. That's why she recognizes Zeku as Guy's master, because the similarity in moveset and his main purpose to stop Bison at that time.. Not because they're dating. Hence why Cody as well tells Zeku, I know a Guy just like you.
The 2nd time is during SF4, where Guy goes after Shadaloo + S.I.N hoping to enlist the help of Cody whom he knows still has a good heart as well as assist Rose in stopping Bison but knows, Rose is basically on a suicide mission to end Bison, due her being a fortune teller her life in general is too vital to toss away because her entire story is based on the fact that SHE was the card that was drawn as "The Fool" and even stated Ryu as the last hope of defeating Bison, and that Bison succeeded in gaining his full power by absorbing what was left of his soul inside her. Guy rescues her right after that so Bison doesn't kill her or use her as a host. You can read how Ryu, Guy and Rose all tie in below.
Her cards also reveal "The Fool," a card which, in this case, symbolizes reckless heroism, and determines that the person represented by this card is the only hope for defeating M. Bison. She also decides that this person cannot defeat M. Bison until the stars align and that she must protect him until such a time. However, she knows that she cannot defeat M. Bison herself, as she possesses the same power he has. During her participation in the tournament, she runs into Ryu, dead set on stopping his advancement for his own protection, stating that he is "the last hope." This results in a fight with much reluctance from both parties.
In her ending, M. Bison ambushes her and grabs hold of her face, taking back what little power of his remained in her, and awakening the memories of what he did while in her body, as well as visions of the horrific acts he would continue to do. When finished, he lets her live and leaves her unconscious, saying she will make excellent fodder for his insatiable spirit.[11]
Rose's ending is directly tied to Guy's, in which he confronts M. Bison and demands that he hand Rose over or he would destroy his jet, his only source of escape. M. Bison reluctantly agrees, and Guy holds his part of the bargain and allows him to escape. Rose wakes up to the sight of Guy and decides that there is still work left for her to do.
I only play Bushinryu characters.. Guy is still engaged to Rena or at this point married to her.. Not Rose at all.
Here's Rose's Status on Guy btw
Guy is a friend who respects Rose for wanting to put an end to Bison's evil on the innocent. Due to their views on what they think is right, they will often argue but, ultimately, help one another.
Here's her status on Ryu
Rose cares deeply for Ryu due to his inner conflict with the Satsui no Hado and the people who desire that power, such as Bison. One can also note that Ryu and Rose share a deep friendship since in Street Fighter IV, Ryu stated that he does not want to hurt her. She often tries to help him overcome the Satsui no Hado and warns him of the people who would stop at nothing to get this power. Even though she is aware that she cannot protect Ryu from Bison or Akuma, she would guide and help him defeat Bison.
I think that's enough digging.
@@jonathangrey9365 I play Bushinryu characters I've seen her quotes for every game, and I know the lore. The events of Alpha 2 and 3 Final Fight 2 is happening,, Final Fight 3 happens AFTER Alpha 3, Alpha 2 is when Guy becomes the 39th GM of Bushinryu, Zeku before disappearing warns Guy of a great evil and the motto of Bushinryu, when Evil arises, Bushinryu will be at the helm to stop it, which in part is Shadaloo and M.Bison. Rose wants to destroy M.Bison as a small part of his soul exists within her, which he needs to regain his full power. While he defeats Rose, he is later destroyed due to the events of Alpha 3 but latches his soul onto Rose. Rose is rescued by Guy but it's unknown to him that Bison has latched onto her. Rose is well aware at this point, that Guy is on a mission to destroy Shadaloo and M.Bison by the words of Zeku, she is also fully aware of M Bison going after Ryu, as well as Ryu wanting to destroy Bison as Bison wants to extract Satsui No Hado out of him.
SF2 happens and Bison is thus destroyed by Akuma.
SF4 Rose's story starts with her drawing ":The Fool" which is depicted as a he, where the stars must align for him to defeat Bison as he cannot be her as her power is linked to Bison, meaning she can't defeat him. The person she calls as the "The Last Hope" is Ryu, not Guy. Guy is fully aware of Rose's importance in being able to stop Bison because of her link to him. Which in the events of SF4 he regains his full power, Guy stops him from taking Rose to prevent her of being a vessel of his. Which when he regains his full power he remembers all of which he did when he was in control of her body post Alpha 3. She notes she still has work to do to finally destroy Bison which takes place in the events of SFV. Guy's story fully ends when he meets back up with Cody to knows Cody is still a good person. He's never once hinted at being in a relationship with Rose.. it has always been him and Rena.
Rose's quote to Zeku is much like Cody's, Abigail's to Zeklu.. all of which hint or directly correlate to Guy, Rose realizing he's Guy's master. As Guy sought to destroy Shadaloo and M Bison, Cody says "I know a Guy just like you" and Abigail is reminded of a ninja who used a similar moveset.
Doesn't require a lot of digging... there's the Capcom Database that tells you everything.

You're welcome
here's the mistake you guys made: thinking that the udon comics were canon
This was such and enjoyable episode. Love John's take on Ken.
I'm a pretty new sub and just wanna say this was a rly good conversation. At any moment I can agree with all three of you and I grew up with an appreciation for SF lore
If potential is such a major factor, oro has potential unseen because he holds back, ryu is potential the character, Cody has potential beyond being cuffed, then potential should also matter for Alex, his true power is dormant yet he still goes toe to toe
You stucking too much with Bison, he is obviously 5, Rose doent even try or dare to fight him, cody is strong but no so much, Alex maybe, and of course Akuma, Oro and Gill and Ryu are stronger than him, but even in his weakened body he beated a lot of fighters easily, another one that could be stronger than him is G but that is not sure yet, people respect him not only for his army, they also think that him is a extremely powerful character, and you talk about Ryu defeating him with ease at the end but in that moment the satelites were already down, and would be a mistake not count his technology that enchance him as strength because at the end he uses that in a fight
Alpha series bison is definitely up there
Dude saud Oro is a Billion years old dude he's only 140 that title goes to Necalli.
The low stamina thing with akuma is just meant to show in gameplay hes holding back. Shin akuma has some of the highest hp in any game hes in
Tell me SF wouldn't be much better if these characters were actually fleshed out. Then you could really do something with this list. It's nerdy yeah, but debating and talking about the specifics? Soooo fun! Underrated content! Cool video!
P.S So what's the deal with Udon? Might as well make it official if some parts are (SF6) There is nothing otherwise, only conjecture
I'd love to see you guys do this with King of Fighters. I'd love to get in on that one!
All of their personal strengths has the potential to manifest great Power with the story through the gamer. BRILLIANT.
In sf4 oni has a pre fight quote for cody where he says he will die unless he stops holding back. Feels like it might imply he can hold his own against oni "As long as you hold back, your destruction is assured."
Thats crazy, never knew Cody was that strong.. impressive ! 😳
Bro that's not a main story. Its only in arcade I guess
Great content. Ryu, to me, represents, "What Is Strength?".
Where's Urien😢
Destroyed by chun li canonically
@@alexspyro563 those legendary legs crushed him. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@@alexspyro563 It's very likely Urien held back to an extent. He said in a pre-fight dialogue he wanted to be entertained, so he wasn't really dedicated to winning.
To be fair, if how many of their hands a fighter uses is a measure of their power then technically Elena is the strongest in Street fighter because she never uses either hand to strike or throw.
Maybe Oro doesn’t get into the conflict even if it’s an “Apocalyptic Crisis” because he knows it’s gonna be ok and he’s letting others like Ryu reach their potential …😂
Or he is some kinda God.. or someone like Tom Bombadil
49:27 My Theory on why rose is not that powerful is that Soul Power and Psycho Power have complementary trade-offs; Soul power is more refined and orderly which could explain why no one who uses it has ever gone insane, it also seems to be a rejuvenating power, and would explain why Rose , being an older woman, still looks very young...
Psycho Power, on the other hand, is Powerful but Volatile, Explosive but corrosive, and would explain why All its users are really powerful but have to fear the power's effects
Gill is basically the Kwisatz Haderach of SF lore
Jon’s eyes make him look like he hasn’t slept in a week.
I actually don't sleep at all...
Hmm with all due respect it sounds like either denial or genuine obliviousness to me 1:11:06
The scenes between Guy and Rose are way too ambiguous to be solely platonic.
Capcom of all people wouldnt just randomly pair them up especially with Guy's fiancée being nowhere around to be seen.
In Street Fighter 6 Zangief speaks about how he pulls out a Submarine out of the Icy waters.
Unfortunately, he also does acknowledge someone might think he's going a little far. Personally, I like to believe it despite how unlikely it is. Then again, I was hoping to see Zangief on the list, having forgotten all the demigods in the cast.
Although SF6 does mention Zangief does hold himself back in one way: he muses on using qi and even throwing fireballs, then decides it's Not The Way. So what if he did?
(No guesses as to my main.)
@@Qaianna Giving gief a fireball would be very funny and incredibly fucked up
We need GEN back as a playable character. He is my favorite of all time
I love Gen, he was my main through A3 and SF4. But let the old man sleep. They should take in someone younger who's been his apprentice at some point. Sort of like a dark counterpart to Chun Li.
Also in the comics, Gill, Urien and Alex have the same ancestors, which is what Gill saw in him
Where’s Gouken
Oro with both arms supposedly scales to Shin Akuma
Oro reminds me of Tom Bombadil, neutral.. powerful.. doesnt care.. like a god
Gouki punched an island and it blew up… That was before SFIII
Shin Cody confirmed. Pedantic comments appreciated but ya'll got some twisted ideas of what's powerful. Dude in the lower left makes the most logical sense.
keep in mind that ryu is being trained by oro at the end of street figher 3
Ken is a beast. Good list and discussion. Thanks!
Thank you!
Not sure if this is cannon, but in SFV anime, Ken was also recognized for his potential. Even though they were using him to find Ryu, Viper recognized Ken's strength/courage.
19:37 I think moreso the people Akuma has hit with RD is the same people have specific kinda cheats around it.
Gen I'm not sure
Gouken emptied his soul
Gill has Resurrection
Bison has whatever psychopower cheat to jump out of a body.
Gen's cheat was some clear mind bs or something, he didnt tank the RD with power or defense
23:06 Bison moreso has kinda killed okay above jobber people, and Nash was usually killed via an assist with the helicopter and like one kill on a cast member vs undead Nash (Maybe?)
He seems like a WWE villain who is like 15 time champion in reputation but it's from beating lower card people.
Think of maybe Kane, big tough, scary only to drop off after his debut in performance but retains that aura
Shin Akuma or Akuma at full power is the strongest. Oro with both arms could beat base Akuma. Not Akuma at his strongest. Also, Akuma caught Gill off guard. It was not a test.

Not a transformation tho, Shin is just akuma true power.

It's weird that Cody is even up there. Almost every other character of note either has access to some kind of otherworldly power or decades of training and experience.
Akuma probably should be number 2, and I think both parties indirectly made the case for Akuma while disagreeing with each other’s picks for number 2. Ryu has the “potential” to be the strongest, but as of right now is not. Gil is said to be throwing fights in order to test how strong people are (which is probably only the story since he was previously only a final boss). In both cases, it’s just “this character said they’re strong,” and in both counter arguments Akuma was mentioned. If Akuma is the agreed upon measuring stick for the number 2 spot, then he should occupy the number 2 spot 😂. I’m the furthest from an Akuma fanboy, but that just makes the most sense until someone is able to dethrone him.

Chun-Li should always be in this conversations as The Strongest Woman In The World but they have historically taken a diarrhetic poop on her. She didn't even successfully take on Bison which if you played SFII you would think that is something that would be at the end of her arc. But #Nope!
Why didn't mention Juri?
I dislike her but with Feng shui engine, she's probably stronger than most of regular characters except some bosses and Ryu & Oro.
I would be interested to have your opinion.
Thanks for the top.
I recall being impressed by how formidable she was when I was putting together her full story video. She takes out Guile, Chun, and Cammy pretty easily a few times.
I thought she beat Chun-Li (like I dunno EVERYBODY), Cammy, Guile, and Ryu?
*raptor gives a poetic explanation of Cody being designed to highlight the dangers of apathy....* // *special guest :' nah I don't agree'*
The only thing you guys forgot is that Gen has a win over Akuma.
Havnt touched sf6 in 3 months a balance patch is needed tekken 8 shitting on every fighting game right now
Tekken doesn't last as long
point for bison. EVERYONE fears bison besides the top tier fighters in streets.
It is criminal that you guys don't have Seth on here
No gouken smh... oni
Oro seeing terrorists try to take over the world... Equal to seeing a fishermen using a worm to catch a fish
but you have seen the end of the ryu akuma fight. Read RYU FINAL
I want to add a few VERY IMPORTANT points
To me, to be the "most powerful" you need one of those things:
1) be physically strong AND have powerful ki/techniques
or
2) have broken techniques
For example Zeno in the Dragon Ball universe is the king (god) of all universes (it's literally his name), he can just blink and your very existance is gone
Rose's implied power is just time traveling and that in itself is not broken
Another point I want to make, just because you have a powerful technique, doesn't mean you're that strong,
For example, image a kid holding a gun and then pulls the trigger and k1lls some master martial artist, does that mean the kid is stronger than the master? Absolutely not!
I knew from the beginning that they never should've made Gill playable. He gets a lot of hate from SFII and IV fanboys, but that character was meant to be *divine* and borderline untouchable in the lore (circa his debut and all the way through the SFIII saga). Only Shin Akuma, Oro, and a mastered Satsui No Hado Ryu even have a hope against him. 👀
As for Rose, she should be nearly equal to Vega/M. Bison. In all three SFZero/Alpha games, Rose fought him and either "stalemated" (SFA1) or "won" (SFA2). It wasn't until the third game that her story concluded... in a double fatality. Guy finds her and senses that she's somehow still alive, but with an ominous aura.
Current Capcom doesn't have the original scenario writers, character designers, or staff members anymore. Anything that has happened "post early 2000's Arcade era" should get an asterisk by it, because the creators of some crucial characters have been long gone.
Most definitely Akuma, M. Bison, and Oro are the GODS in Street Fighter lore!!
So being a fan of the SF series since 1995 and watched all the animations plus play every character in each game for their story and unique but mostly non-canon endings, I think it's fair I share my list:
10th Guile (Beats Ryu & Ken together in their first encounter before the two defeat Bison later on in that timeline and has since faced and overcome many battles in the verse)
9th Seth (One with composit battle skills and the abilities of almost every SF character)
8th Goken (first rival of Akuma. A grandmaster of a forgotten killing art. Almost a sage)
7th Gill (Immortal and loaded with elemental and mystical powers)
6th Ryu (Evil Ryu, Power of nothingness and some plot armours)
5th Gen (Japanese storytellers love using illness to be rid of characters who are just too strong)
4th M. Bison (World threat, age + origin unknown. May not even be human)
3rd Oro (He's a Sage and that says a lot)
2nd G (Planetary power level implied and Q's feats add to his making him not a one time spin off character)
1st Akuma (Shin Akuma and Oni are a part of him, like it or not)
That's my list plus reasons for the list order. Characters like Rose, Cody, Guy etc don't have near impressive combat feats to be in this category of top 10.
Also, I wouldn't place Sim in a list that is outside his elements.
Urien is an honourable mention along side Ken and Juri.
I hope someone finds my list interesting if not informative ✌🏻
I'm not gonna lie I find this kind of ranking more interesting than gameplay lol. It's fun to check in canon wise . And before I watch I hope you guys got Cody somewhere near the top !
This dude was so focused on Jojo shit that he didn’t mention Rose’s biggest feat and that she has beaten or fought off Akuma into a stalemate either way thats a really big thing to miss! Way to drop the combo their 😒
Cody's strength is empathy. His power comes from caring. He has more to care about because of G. Just like almost every character in the game. Immensely stronger compared with imminent dangers. Gs.
Guy and Rose are not together unless he decides not to Massey Rena.
Ryu, to me is like," What Is Power? A weak person with a gun is powerful. An armless person that would jump in front of a bullet to protect Is Strength."
6:00 Ehh No! have you noticed the amount of SF2 Characters in SF6? That alone makes SF6 still a SF3 Prequel.. also Luke is suposed to have trained under Guile, tying Luke to a SF2 Character who, if you played SF6 stole half of his Moveset from Sean, a SF3 Character. So no matter what Capcom is telling you, they're full of shit. A true SF3 Sequel would've no SF2 Characters in their Launch Roster and would feature maybe some SF3 Characters, like Makoto, Dudley, Sean and they're really fancy Q or Twelve, with returning Characters being Ryu/Ken/Akuma and rest would be new characters like for example Mel Masters.. Yeah! A Real Street Fighter 3 Sequel should've Mel vs Sean as Poster Rivals!
Cody beat the crime out of a whole city, twice.
I fought the law and the law, plink RB FADC into super.
Top 10 starting at #1 gotta be the most anti climatic thing ever 😭

Bison is the one who defeated Seth, by the way.
