Remember kids, Akuma exists in the main story of Tekken 7, thus making all of these interactions canon
not necessarily Street Fighter is canon to Tekken but not the other way around and this specific game is non canon to either story and is just a fun crossover
@@KazamaRaikan street fighter is not canon to tekken only akuma is canon. Otherwise some of the other sf characters would've at least shown up to at least one of the tekken tournaments.
@@ezronco.8671 it’s actually been confirmed that Street Fighter X Tekken is confirmed to be canon and Akuma proves that does not make sense to make a character canon from another game where he canonically exists and interacts with some of the other characters so yes SFXTK is canon
@@KazamaRaikan just because akuma is canon to tekken that does not mean street fighter or sfxt is. Akuma in tekken is just a different version of the character who probably has a different backstory from sf akuma and most likely hasn't experienced any of the events from street fighter's canon. Plus it doesn't help that sfxt contradicts certain canon in tekken's story.
Tekken Akuma isn't the same SF Akuma

English Dub Kazuya is cursed
Na uh, it's much better!
It's either him or English dubbed heihachi. Just not something right there.
@@CyberDragoon656 At least Heihachi had the benefit of being voiced by a well-renowned voice actor (Jamieson Price) who also voiced him in a different work prior to this game, that being Tekken: Blood Vengeance. And his voice doesn’t sound half bad at all.
You can’t say that about Kazuya, which is even worse for him because he used to be voiced by Kyle Hebert of all people in that same movie. Yes, the voice actor for Ryu did Kazuya before, yet didn’t do double duty in this game. I don’t get it.
@rmnhn it's more just like how yakuza 7 tried to do English dub while the rest of the series was japanese dubbed. Yes some actors people know did their voice it's just sounds odd due to being more used to the normal Japanese dub voice they do for the main series.
Granted if anything either might be better than box art mega-man and face of death pac-man (granted both are really funny either way).
Exactly why I switched him, Jin and the other characters who usually speak Japanese or their native languages over to the other audio track to keep that Tekken immersion

A ninja and a samurai
Wait why is Juri working with bison?
I don't know either since they are rivals
Some of the teams are not based on characters getting along. Some are based on similarities.
Rolento and ibuki- both are supposed to be stealthy and both throw knives as projectiles.
Juri and bison- both have psycho power
So on and so on. Try to find the commonalities in the pairings then it will begin to make sense. But I'm not dismissing your idea of odd pairings because some are based on the lore.

I really wanted to like this game, I honestly did. But the problem with Street Fighter x Tekken was how much it had, and yet somehow had very little to offer. Right off the bat, this game had way too many characters in the roster, which may sound strange, especially since I do love games with large character rosters, but the problem with this was the lack of unlockability.
What I mean by this is that what you saw on the roster is what you will get. Compare this to a game like Super Smash Bros, mainly Ultimate. In that game, the roster is one of the biggest in terms of a Crossover Fighting Game, and yet when you start out, the roster is tiny, starting off with the first 8 characters from the original Smash Bros game. And as the game goes on, you will eventually unlock the roster, making it feel like you earn the right to use those characters in the future.
Compare this Street Fighter x Tekken, the roster is already there, and with the exception of unlocking titles of your profile, there's virtually nothing worth unlocking.
And then there's the DLC. Again, if you compare how Smash Bros Ultimate and Street Fighter x Tekken did their DLC, there's virtually no comparison. Ultimate did it leagues better. With Ultimate, you have a choice to purchase the DLC characters and add them to the roster. The same thing applies to the Mii costumes and even some add-ons that are, mostly, free. As for Street Fighter x Tekken, the DLC is atrocious. Not only were there characters already on the roster that you couldn't play as without paying for the DLC, but when people downloaded the new characters and noticed that the DLC didn't take up that much memory, they decided to investigate. They hacked into the disc and noticed that the DLC characters were already on the disc. And yet, gamers needed to pay an additional fee in order to unlock the DLC characters. That was a very scummy move for Capcom and/or Bandai Namco part.
Also, they added Rufus into the game. Nobody wants Rufus in any game.
I 💯 agree with you! And you're right about everything you say! Ever since I've gotten into Street Fighter x Tekken, it was a really amazing game. Then, overtime as I got older, and got more in depth of Street Fighter and Tekken, I then kinda looked back into the crossover and it does look like an instant failure! I mean, on disc DLC, terrible guest characters, and the gem system which ruined the gameplay of it all! As you said Smash Bros knows how to handle the roster and DLC, throughout its evolution (all the way to Smash Ultimate). Fun fact: there was supposed to be a Tekken x Street Fighter, but it never happened, because of SF X TK's failure! So, that's why think Smash Bros is the GOAT of making crossovers! Honestly I hope there *never* will be a Tekken x Street Fighter, because it it ever came to existence, I feel like it'll be a *colossal failure* as Street Fighter x Tekken was! Wouldn't you agree?
@@crislunaverellen6563 There's also a few other problems that I failed to mention. For starters, for a game that's called Street Fighter x Tekken, there sure isn't a lot of Tekken involved. Sure, the Tekken roster does have the same number of characters that the Street Fighter roster has, that's not the problem. The problem is the gameplay itself. It's a 2D fighting game. A style of gameplay that Street Fighter is known for. Tekken is known to be a, mostly, 3D fighting game. So to have one type of fighting style being added to the game, but not have the other, clearly shows that one franchise gets a bit more love and representation than the other. The best way they could've fixed this problem is either;
A. Give the players a choice to fight on the 2D or 3D perspective. Yeah, it would take a lot of coding, especially since Street Fighter isn't that well known to be a 3D fighting game franchise. But if they can have Tekken characters fight on the 2D plain, why can't the Street Fighter characters?
B. Do what Pokken Tournament did. Have the fight start off on a 3D perspective, but after a player deals a hard-hitting attack, then it switches to a 2D plain. And then, once enough damage is dealt, the fight returns to a 3D plain.
The other big issue, or at least my personal problem, is that there's no real Final Boss. Yes, it is true that Akuma is the Final Boss whenever you pick a character from the Tekken Roster, and Ogre is the Final Boss whenever you pick a character from the Street Fighter Roster, but they don't exactly feel like final bosses. They more or less feel like the penultimate boss. The fight that challenges you before taking on the real Final Boss. A possible idea for a Final Boss could be Pandora using it's magic to merge both Akuma and Ogre to create a monster that possesses the powers of both fighters. After you defeat one of the fighters, the other will show up, only for Pandora's magic to activate, causing the two fighters to merge into one. Or alternatively, Pandora itself taking on a monstrous form as the last obstacle before the team earns the right to open Pandora. Just something.
But then there's the biggest problem, the tediousness. In order to beat each Story Mode, you have to play every single Arcade Mode twice. The reason why I say this is because, every character has their own unique outro text that described what happened to them after they earned the right to see what Pandora is. But the problem stems when you realize that you only receive one of the text endings based on who was the one who delivered the final attack. So say if I played as Ryu and Ken. I beat Ogre as Ken, and I get then ending. After the Cutscene, it tells me what happened to Ken after I won, but doesn't tell me anything about Ryu. Which means, if I truly want to beat everything, I need to play as Ryu again to get his ending. This wouldn't be a problem if the game gave you the choice on whether of not you want to control one or two players. Kinda like how Tekken Tag Tournament 2 did it's Arcade Mode. You're given the choice if you want to play the Arcade Mode, and virtually every other mode in that game, as either a solo fighter or a tag team. But Street Fighter x Tekken doesn't do that. Instead, it's always a 2v2 fight, no matter which mode you play as.
And yes, I do get that the 2v2 mechanic is made to utilize the Pandora mechanic, of which by sacrificing your teammate, the other playable character gets a power boost. But is it really worth the sacrifice? Especially since you have a very short period before the game just automatically stops the fight. If you don't KO your opponent before the effects of Pandora wear off, you lose. Plus, what's even the point of have a 2v2 fight if all you need to do to win is to KO one of the fighters on the team? It's the same problem I personally have with Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and it's the same problem I have with this game. And I don't buy the argument that it would make the game unfair if the fight continues as a 2v1 fight. Considering that there are other fighting games with Tag Team mechanics that continue even if one member of either your or your opponent's team gets KOed. Games like Mortal Kombat 9, the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise, and Power Rangers Battle for the Grid, there are just some games that either allow Tag Team fights, or are only Tag Team Fights, and yet allows you continue to fight even after one combatant gets KOed.
@@OmnicidalClown1992 yeah imagine the final boss would be Ogruma, a fusion between akuma and ogre, but it would be similarly to Mortal Kombat vs DC universe, since that game has it's own final boss which is Dark Khan, he is fusion between darkseid and shao kahn
