Yo! Dan! For about 10 years, there has been a Digital Nomad movement for those able to travel and work remotely globally. COVID really messed that up but it's coming back stronger. I live in downtown San Diego in the Marina Embarcadero area but your videos about San Diego inspire me to play Digital Nomad throughout San Diego County including Julian and Campo! Take care!!

Thanks Dan! When I lived there many years ago I moved from Downton, to normal heights, to North Park, to Banker's Hill, then Hillcrest, and then Mission hills. I liked them all but I like Hillcrest and Mission Hills a lot, as I was able to walk to many places.(although I had a car) I also liked being near Balboa Park, riding my bike through it or walking. I did enjoy Mission and Pacific beach, only went to Ocean beach once. I did enjoy Black's beach. Have you ever been there?

La Mesa is so affordable because the median sales price of a home is only $784,000 in Sept 2023. I have found that nice things cost a lot. Market capitalism sucks if you like nice things but don't have much $, then you end up living in a tent on the sidewalk.

Thank you Dan! What do you think about Golden Hill as a neighborhood?

There are parts of Golden Hill that are great (especially next to the park). I personally would try to avoid being too close to the freeway if you can

Hi, what place would be best for first time moving there? I grew up in a small beach hometown in Baja California Sur, México . Then I lived in a Suburb in Pennsylvania U.S for 6 years. Both places are very small and quiet . So I am not used to the city lifestyle or traffic. I am more used to the quiet calm lifestyle. I love the beach and nature . I don’t really like bars .
    What places would you recommend?

What do you think about Bay Park Dan?

    • @DanPBestLifeSD

Bay Park to me flows almost interchangeably with Clairemont, although with an elevated price point and potential bay views. You get that amazing proximity to the beach, and ease of transportation to the major freeways to get around. Beyond that, I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is. The homes are older, a lot are small and/or need work, there are many streets where views are impacted by power lines, commercial buildings and busy roads. Personally, I'd rather focus on the Mount streets in Clairemont, or find similar homes and neighborhoods with more affordability in Serra Mesa or San Carlos, or nicer areas closer to the beach if I could afford it.
Of course there's a neighborhood for everyone. If you want a more personalized approach don't hesitate to reach out.

Convenience is the reason I stay in North Park, so easy to go everywhere,
but the living quality is not the best, rent outrageous.

The rent is to high no matter where you live San Diego needs rent control asap there is no cheap place to live downtown is nasty and old northpark or Hillcrest is a gay neighborhood the beaches are to high rent places move to Arizona it is cheaper to live
