the problem with separating the art from the artist is that if the artist inserts themselves into the art as kanye did, it only makes it that much harder to ignore the glaring flaws with them as a person. kanye’s art had a lot to do with him as a person, we are meant to sympathise and love his work, but if we have to sympathise with someone who is doing harm to people and is hurting, it gets really hard to do that. i miss the old kanye.
