From December to February of the following year, Beijing's air quality is poor in winter. At this time, there are still ice and snow attractions in the northeast and northwest of China, and Chengdu in the southwest is still a bit cold and rainy at this time. However, Hainan and some parts of Yunnan are the places most tourists go to at this time due to the temperature of around 20 degrees. From March to April, it is basically spring in most parts of China, and the flowers are blooming. There are views everywhere. Entering May-June, most places are already green and the temperature is between 20-30 degrees. All parts of the country are suitable for traveling, each with its own characteristics. July-August is the summer vacation for students across the country. The weather is hot and many people will go to high-altitude mountainous areas. There are more tourists in Xinjiang, Qinghai and Tibet at this time. From September to November, the weather gradually turns cooler. At this time, the autumn is crisp and clear, and hiking in the mountains is very beautiful.

But I doubt I could communicate well with the elderly in rural area where they only know their dialects since many are too difficult for Chinese from other areas of China.

Interesting, the recommendations about the safety in China is actually all concerns in western country, China don't use cash anymore, the pocket-picking has sort of dying out, and evening time is the high time for people going out, with all activities and street food! China is probably the one of the most safe countries, if not the safest, in the world, it has never been an issue for a solo women to walk on the street in middle of the night, some people don't even have opportunity to establish safety concept considering the appropriate time of the day to walk on the street, you can do that 24 hours in China.
