    Yes! Thank you for mentioning that you shouldn’t run filters dry etc. This is something I could have accidentally missed or forgotten.

    Great video. You cover a lot of detail. I was going to do a similar series on my channel. Saw yours, and scraped the idea. I would add the color of one's substrate will affect how the light looks in the tank. It can create different effects. The other, surge protectors, timers, best ways to power your equipment. I'm a big fan and a tuber, and I know it's impossible to remember everything on your own. Thanks for the vids.

    Wouldn't running ambient air from outside the tank (bubbles) past the element make the element less efficient. Your cooling as your trying to heat. Love the vids though and also learning a lot.

    Hi all, first of all what a great channel ! I'm after some help.. I'm going to be setting up my first African Cichild fishtank - a 340L / 90 gallon tank and I would like some advice on a good mix of dwarf cichlids that aren't going to outgrow my tank. Any suggestions on breeds and numbers would be greatly appreciated !

    Hey John! Lovely video. I'm new to your channel and would really appreciate some advice. I've had aquariums all throughout my childhood, the fish addiction started super early. Now I've saved up for my own very first 55 gallon, glass lids, automatic feeder and canister filter. This bad boy holds 3 swordtails, 6 neon tetras and 4 neon (plaecox) rainbow fish. Two days in and they're settling well, I'm grabbing more fish next week, what types of fish do you recommend I get and do you have any compatible ones from your store? Thanks, I'm excited to see what the fish community holds for me :D

    Hi sir,
    One important question but I can't find any answer in the internet. I am not talking about the aquarium light but house light. Should we off the light in the house when we sleep at night so that the fishes can sleep in the dark? Do we need to turn off the light completely until total darkness for the fishes to sleep? Or can we leave some dim lights on at night?

    Is a 10 gallon too heavy for a 2nd floor room?

    • @MELODYMUNRO
      @MELODYMUNRO Před 9 lety

      +TheBrikhead I use metric but I did the conversions...and so....
      10gallon = 38 litres
      38 llitres = 38 kg
      38Kg = 83 llbs
      Even with the weight of the tank, the water, the substrate and the stand..it should not be any more than the equivalent of a person standing in the one spot.....it's not really that heavy for a fish tank...just make sure that the surface under the tank is strong and flat and cannot bow........placing a thin layer/piece of polystyrene foam or a thick piece of cardboard underneath the bottom glass also helps as it can reduce impact of any slight lumps or bumps . Make sure that what you are putting tank on is level otherwise your water level will be uneven and this will place stress on your tanks seams....causes leaks. John has a good video on here about how to build a simple but strong and relatively light and cheap tank stand...
      I have tanks that weigh over 2645 llbs in total with the water, glass, substrate and stand...but they are on concrete.

      JOWEE BOIE I know that ..I kept numbers rounded because .4 of a pound is not going to make any significant difference..and I am in a country that uses metric...much easier to use.
