I actually have one of the batteries already stripped down and attached it to the jock strap with an AMVR head cup! 😂😂😂

Creative solution 👍 sadly I never purchased the official battery strap. So glad bobovr is releasing a conversion kit for the M2 pro to M3 pro though. Waiting is the hardest part lol

Awesome - I think I still have my original broken Elite Battery strap *and* an unopened replacement Elite Battery that Meta sent as a replacement (by then I had switched to BoBo).
Yeah, I'm waiting on my Bobo m3, but just couldn't take the short factory battery life, which led me to this

Ordered the Maecker head strap and the dark plastic piece hiding the straps isn't popping off easy as you say. I'm even trying to force it and it's not coming off. Would have been nice to see an actual walk through and not just say, oh it'll take 10 min. if you're good taking stuff apart.

I also have an old Elite 2 strap with battery, but both sides are broken so its just the back piece with the battery (and cable) that is salvageable, can I use the back piece (battery and cable) with the Maecker strap, so the Maecker strap and sides etc use the Elite 2 back piece?
Great idea, not being able to use my Quest 2 Elite strap on the Quest 3 was my biggest disappointment. Since I have an extra Q2 Elite strap with broken bands, does anyone know if Maecker makes a Q2 version? I wouldn’t mind doing this fix for the next owner of my Q2.
It wouldn't work well with the Quest3 anyway. Quest3 uses way more power than the Quest 2 does.

Man good find, i have an issue when my elitestrap broke a i ripped the rubber back of the head part off, can you put the battery in the new strap? Or do i have to use the elite's
You use everything from the elite strap, except the straps, those are what's needed from the new one

Just swapping the straps on the elite out for the new ones, and yeah it's very comfortable
Yeah, he didnt make it clear. you have to buy that 3rd party head strap that is for the quest 3. That comes with the adjustable arms that you can see already attached on the quest 3 he has in the video. The mechanism on the end of those arms is the same design as the ones on the quest 2 elite battery head strap. so you take out the quest 2 arms that wont fit the quest three and replace just the arms from the cheap 3rd party quest 3 head strap.
it doesnt help that he didnt show the actual steps and just showed taking apart a different headstrap, and didnt show assembling anything...

Our, if your Quest 2 strap isn't broken, just 3D print adapters from printables.
I did and wasn't a fan, as well as this has a factory look and fit
If you got a 3d printer there are adapters you can get too.
I do, and I have done it. It tends to offset it a little much. But a lot of ppl don't have one and this would be an easy option for them
