Fox News Channel Startup/National Anthem, 2013

- Fox News Channel now dips into the past to start its broadcasting day; at about 4:58, prior to "Fox and Friends First", the channel now airs a sequence of patriotic images, set to the strains of The Star Spangled Banner (or the national anthem). This, of course, is a modern take on the old SSB sequences that aired on braodcast stations across the country at sign-on and sign-off.
Not sure when this debuted, but Fox and Friends First was a recent addition to the schedule, so it likely coincided with that program's debut.
As far as political meaning, well, read into this what you will. Whatever you think of the channel, Fox News has long relied on patriotic imagery for its promotions and graphics.

I'm not a fan of Fox News, not because of politics, but this is really nice.
One of my local music stations plays the anthem each morning at 8AM on weekdays. Makes me feel a bit better about going in to work in the morning.

The last part with the servicemen choked me up, they are literally the red part on the flag of our country (blood of those who died for the nation) of all backgrounds. I think Fox News did a good job with this.

I Like this ,but this now is only shown on the weekends.Saturday Mornings and Sunday Mornings. At the end,of the video. I Like the 5 U.S. Troops giving their salute, That gives me tears down my face.USA,USA,USA,USA.!

I admit I may be biased against Fox News, but it sort of feels like they're trying too hard. I get the feeling that the graphics on the video won't age well. It's a tawdry imitation of the playout videos of old, but at least it's something, & not the nix that other channels have to offer.
1:22: The shine on the capital dome looks like it's been added in in the editing room. It's a masonry dome, it's not meant to glare.

Well I feel stupid asking this, but when did they say that they were concluding and beginning their broadcast day? All I saw was the end of O'Reily, the anthem, and the beginning of the morning show.
