thanks for the video ! I just bought a SL3 and am a beginner in photography... really inspiring to see what this little entry level DSLR can actually do!
As a photojournalism major, I was almost thinking of pulling the trigger on a Sony A7iv......this seems like a much better bang for the buck, and I could always upgrade to an R5 if I have good EF glass. Thank you so much for posting this!
@@braydonhopper That's the exact same lens i have here!! I'll try to learn with you and find good conditions to make some cool shots! Give me welcome as you're new channels follower! 🤝🏼
hey hope you having a nice day. I have a question about your footage that some of your photos you take has so much noise can I ask you why ? using auto mode or just setting iso too high because of your decision ?
There were two specific photos I had an alot of noise on. That was my fault because I want monitoring my ISO levels relative to NY shutter speed. It was cooooolllld af atm.
I appreciate the compliment. I've been considering making a tutorial, seeing how this question has been asked a dozen different times hahaha. When the weather here gets better, I'll definitely make one.
I can't do this type of content for the time being. I'm still going through medical issues on my legs from the accident. Making street content takes many hours and walking for many miles. Until I get healed up, I gotta do more stationary/low impact stuff. Here soon, I plan on bringing my motorcycle and photography passion together for a cool new style.
How often do you get negative responses from strangers that object to being photographed? How do you deal with them? In my experience, people have asked me to take photos of them, but I have never intentionally taken candid photos of people and want to be respectful as possible if someone takes offense. Your photos are amazing, you give me hope for my SL3 and 50mm 1.8!
I don't ask for permission in the hopes of capturing a real human moment. How you go about it defines you and your work as a photographer. It's a philosophical debate predicated on morals in which you have to navigate these positions
@@braydonhopper I just binge-watched your videos, and have a better understanding. Your content is amazing, and your style speaks to the train hopper/graffiti writer/street kid in me. It got my blood pumping to see you out on rooftops and getting into shit just to get a shot! I'm a huge fan. Keep killin' it and keep creating fire content!
I've been asked this question at least a dozen times lol. For photo, go SL3. For video, M50. Plus there are more native lenses available for the SL3 than the M50. The M50 requires an adapter to run EF mount glass and I don't personally like adapters.
@@braydonhopper thanks for the quick response, do you find the 5fps too slow? I want to do some street/family/travel photography. Just watched your video where you crashed your drone... That sucks! Keep up the great content!
@@Navyman2004 the only and very few instances where the low fps is hindering was when I was shooting very fast moving objects or people. Even still, it's not a big deal unless your trying to capture a single moment that can't be recreated. In most instances, the fps is fine for casual shooting unless your focus is sports photography.
It constantly fluctuates relative to the environment. I wish I could give you a definite setting. With moving subjects, I often have to bump my shutter to around 1/1000 and then change the iso to get proper exposure. Stagnant shots with no moving subjects, I set my iso at 100 and use my shutter speed to get my exposure. Idk if that helps at all. Best a luck to ya!
The Canon sl3 is a great hobbyist camera. Plenty of expandability with cheap/quality lenses based on the EF mount. I'm very content with its performance in comparison to other competitive brands I've used in the past.
@@Travelwitharvi I've shot both. The m50 is slightly better with video. It's smaller the the SL3. Picture quality is the same. Price is higher than the SL3.
@@braydonhopper I'm thinking about getting a Canon 250D with the stock kit lens...I'm a newbie to this hobby and I'm on a tight budget, what do you think?
It's a good start if you are a hobbyist who isn't sure about what you need or don't want to invest alot of money. Although, if you really get into photography with the intention of making any money... you will have to upgrade due to some of the technical/mechanical limitations on performance.
This is just as a hobby, let's say it's just another reason to go out and explore the city. Since the pandemic hit I've spent most of time indoors and I find no real reason to go out which is why I want to give photography a chance. Would there be a better option out there instead of 250D? I'm interested in a ecosystem on which the lenses are not extremely pricey in case I want to upgrade it. My current budget would be around 700 USD / 625 EURO and I'm also looking at used market. Also, thank you for your replies, much appreciated!
@@TheBadBone23 no problem man. For your purposes, I think that camera would be good for you. Considering Canon glass has the most bang for the buck.
