Glad that it's still available - that smooth dust cover (no-rail) up front, the rounded trigger guard, and those boxy lines just scream classic Sig, and I love it!
@@11binfantryfollowmeus.army95 The portion of the muzzle where the rail would be if it had a rail. I think I've heard Beretta refer to it as a "dust cover" before when talking about the M9/92FS if I recall correctly.
I wrote the requirement for the M11 and initiated the program for the Navy (NCIS)/ other Services and the M11 was far and away the better concealable 9mm auto, and paved the way for the Sig being the new Service pistol.
Thank you for that! I’m about to be active duty navy and am crossing my fingers I get to qualify on that rather than the M9. I’ve got a 1978 P6/225 right now for my EDC.
I used to train people to use the M11-A1. Operating single handedly also loading single handedly while positive contact on cuff linking chain, the M11 was great for that compared to the standard M9 Beretta, still love the Beretta too
Love my M11-A1, the SRT is awsome! Shooting it side by with my Glock 19 they are dead even as far as Accuracy for me. But the M11 faster and more stable with multi shots.
And it’s metal! 😂 The Glock is so damn ugly and the sights are horrific (for me). Glock makes a legendary product but the classic Sigs feel like owning a Diablo or Testarossa.
I too prefer the M11-A1 over my Glocks. My tendency to shoot low left of POA with Glocks disappears with the SIG. While that may not entirely be the Glocks’ fault, the SIG is certainly more accurate, even at self-defense distances (3-5 yards).
@@fredmartin328 I once did enjoy this platform. Traded my Sig P226 9mm for a Beretta M9 and never looked back. The 226 is a great gun in it’s own right and I did well with it but it was too too heavy and bulky compared to the Beretta with it’a lower barrel axis and open top slide. But if I ever got another Sig Sauer handgun, this M11-A1 would be it.
Mine's great....but don't like the way the decocking lever and slide release look almost the same and are so close to each other. When using my HK, by comparison, I don't confuse the two or accidentally hit the wrong one as I do on the Sig. Other than that it's been an awesome gun.
An intelligent design from glock is the interchangeability of mags between models. Does sig design in favor of customers owning more than one model? ie will 226-229-m11a1 mags interchange?
I’m curious. Would a sig p228 or m11-a1 slide fit on a P226 frame? I always loved the carry variants of sig pistols with a full sized grip and a 3.9” barrel.
Bit late but there's no need for that. The P226 and P228/229 have the exact same size grip, same magazines, etc. Only the slide and barrel length differ. So you could say the P228/229 is already the "carry" configuration you're looking for.
@@Katana_Gryphon this is incorrect. The grips sizes are different. Put a 226 mag into a p229 or the 228 and the magazine will stick out. I'm interest3d in a p226 length grip and a m11-a1 length slide and Barrel.
@@Bittlicious huh, it seems you're right, my mistake. There is a 0.1" difference on the spec sheets that I chalked up to just the magazine baseplate. Weird since they both use 15-round mags...
is the grip thinner than the p229R? it's hard to tell. i didn't like my p229 because it was hard to reach the trigger with small hands without having a bad grip angle
Why buy the M11-A1 when the markedly smaller, lighter and far more durable Glock 19 is much cheaper and just as reliable? I favor the Gen3 variant (adopted by the US Navy SEALs in 2015) as the Gen4 variant violates the KIS principle.
Why? Because if I wanted a gluuck I'd be subscribed to the lawn chair companies youtube channel not Sigs. Why? Because not everyone wants the pistol that every other drone bee and sheep is shooting. Why? Because variety and competition is a good thing. Why? Because to depend on a firearm developed by a plastic lawn chair maker who never owned or held a gun is down right a crazy stupid idea and proves you are suicidal, not taking the value of your own life seriously.

Good to know brother

You’re giving me JCIDS PTSD flashbacks.
bought one a week ago, have put 400 rounds through since without a hiccup. Very accurate.
Shoots like a dream!❤
Had one of the P228's with the stamped steel slide and made in west Germany. Would love to have it back.
hands down best guns for any use.

Probably due to the superior trigger on the Sig once you are in SA mode.
Just purchased one. Good recoil.
I would love to have one, I really miss my old non-rail P229.

Is it supposed to come with the P228 grips? The one I have, it has the P229 grips, is it an error during manufacturing?
Nope
Bring it back to market in 2022

Nope…just missing the light rail…

Better than glocks

How?
Thankyou sir. That just needed to be said lol.
is the m11 height shorter than the p229 or the same? p229 is too tall for my body at 5.4"

They are same, You can get P229 with E2 grip which is thinner than regular standard grip.
does the p229R elite come with E2 already?
Can i get 10rnd mag for this? Or an 15rnd converted to a 10?
I can give you a 100 round....F the man
They make a state compliant version with 10 rd mags
