This hair tutorial will show you how to cut your own hair in layers. This is great if you want to get rid of split ends that are dry and splayed. I used the ponytail technique to create shorter layers at the front of my face and longer layers at the back. I saw this method of cutting hair on Pinterest quite some time ago and I've been using it since (before this I was using the hair slithering technique to create layers). The result is a layered haircut in a soft V shape at the back. You can either use thinning scissors to soften the bluntness of the ends or your can use the point cutting technique which I showed you in the video. To do the point cutting technique, slide your fingers horizontally down your hair to flatten the tip of your hair and cut into your ends using the points of the scissors. Good luck!
    ♥ What you'll need:
    Flat Iron
    Hair Brush
    Hair Ties
    Hair Cutting Scissors
    Thinning / Texturizing Scissors

For everyone skeptical about this method, let me tell you what happened. I was so freaking terrified. I almost cried when I made the first cut. I was so scared to let my hair down to look at it when I was done. But when I took the hair tie out, I flipped my hair back and looked in the mirror, OH MY GOD IT LOOKED PERFECT. I guarantee anyone can do this. This is coming from someone who is terrible at doing anything with their hair. If I can do it, you absolutely can. This works! Honestly the worst part is going to be cleaning up your bathroom afterwards. 😂

To those thinking of trying this method. This was my first attempt at cutting my own hair (which was hanging below my buttocks). I was extremely nervous. But it worked so well. I will likely never see the inside of a hair salon again because this video and some comments below gave me the confidence to do it myself. Thank you for sharing this method with the world, @bebexo
To hair stylists. The main reasons why I wanted to learn how to cut my own hair are:
    1) I'm severely allergic to artificial fragrance and therefore can't be in most hair salons, let alone have someone put it onto my hair. I have to use products that don't contain harmful chemicals.
    2) Even if the products are all-natural, I find it extremely uncomfortable when hair stylists pressure me to get all sorts of treatments done and buy the products. I understand you want to make sales but it's tiring to have to explain why I can't use just any products and then endure a lecture like I don't know what's good for me.

I have a similar problem with fragrances. Some nearly cause me to suffocate. They could be Weapons of Mass Destruction as far as my sinuses react! Some people seem to drench themselves.

Oh my god. IT WORKS!!!!!!!!! I am the type of girl who would NEVER let anyone touch my hair besides my hairstylist in Taiwan. However, I haven’t been able to go back for a year and my hair has gotten ridiculously long (almost below my butt). With that said, I came across this video and I rewatched at least ten times (and at least 10 videos from other youtubers) and read through almost every comment before I finally got the courage to pick up the scissors (while still shaking) The outcome is all I could ever dream of yet not many hairstylists can ever achieve. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! I am so happy that I feel like I am dreaming. Tips: dry cut! And if you have natural curly/wavy hair like me, don’t cut too much the first time and go with her exact instructions and length guideline. Thank you once again!!!!!

Bought some new sheers and went for it for the first time. ** *Note* ** I DID struggle with cutting off my first ponytail because my hair is thicker than hers, and it didnt cut off so easy. If your hair is thicker, TAKE YOUR TIME to cut it off evenly. I was pushing my scissors too hard to cut it off in one fell swoop like her and ended up with a crooked cut. I was able to even it up (a LITTLE at a time) but it worried me until I did. I didn't have thinning shears but that's ok, point cutting worked just fine. THANK YOU for this video. I'll save myself 50$/cut and will cut it more often now to maintain healthy long hair. No more frizz and putting it off!

So I just did this, and let me tell you, it looks SO FREAKING CUTE!!!! It's also completely even all the way around. Just know that if you do the pony tail close to your forehead like she does, the look is very layered around your face and does not take a lot off of the length. My bangs are easily 4 inches shorter than they were before and I believe only about an inch was taken off of the back. I've been wanting to learn how to cut my own hair for a while though because I think it is ridiculous to pay $20, which is what the salons around me usually charge. As a college student who is not working, I need to budget every penny. I'm so glad Bebexo made this video because my hair feels so refreshed and it was free! Thank you!!!

Ooook I have done this twice and I must weigh in. Do you see how small her head is? Well, maybe it’s small to me because mine is like a cabbage on a stick. Anyways, if you have a huge head, do NOT put the ponytail all the way forward at the brim of the forehead unless you want an Alabama mullet. Instead, do a high ponytail somewhere between the bump on the biggest part of your skull and the direct top of your head. (Aka, put it BACK further so the front layers won’t be as short.) This will give you good layers and keep you from looking like Joe Dirt. The second time I did it, I followed my own advice and this took me 5 minutes and it looked great. Good luck

Haven't had a haircut in 1.5 yrs. I usually get one before Mother's day. Was really tired of my long hair so I Googled and found this video. Right after watching, I followed the steps and was done in less than 10 minutes. And wow, it looked better than some of the salon cuts I have had before where the hairdresser didn't really get how I wanted my hairstyle to look! Unbelievably easy, thank you!!! 😊

To my complete suprise, it worked and looks amazing and it only took 10 minutes. Saved myself 75$! Thank you! If you're thinking about trying it and it seems intimidating, just try and inch or two, but I promise you won't be disappointed!

My hair was already in need of a trim before corona-related lockdown, but 3 weeks in and it was a straggly mess! I don't possess hair straighteners as my hair in naturally wavy, and I really don't like the way it looks when it's dead straight. So I washed my hair and waited until it was damp but not wet- just wet enough that it would be dead straight when I combed the sections through. It worked!! Definitely not as good a job as a professional haircut as some commenters have said, but my hair looks so much healthier than it did and will see me through until we're allowed to be in close contact with people again! Thanks for the upload.

I tried this just now and it worked! I did it in two steps. I first did a ponytail at the front like she does in the video so that I could make sure my layers in the front were as short as I wanted them to be, and then I did a ponytail in the back at the crown to make sure that I was cutting off as much as I wanted to in the back to get rid of my split ends. I cut off much more in the first step than in the second. I followed her steps each time and it worked great! Truly a hack, easy and relatively quick. Very glad I found this method, I will definitely do this again! :)

My hair is thick and curly but it worked anyway! I put heat protector product on it and a used a straightener. I love the layers! It wasn’t short enough for me so afterward, I parted my hair in the middle in the back, brought the two sides up into two ponytails, blunt cut up to the next layer, then cut up through the ends and used the trimming scissors to make it softer.
I’m immunocompromised with an inflammatory disease so even though i’m fully vaccinated, I’m only about 40% protected. I haven’t been able to take my mask off anywhere yet. And a salon is just too crowded and close…not to mention the stylist…for my comfort level. I already cut my own bangs but now I can cut my hair!
I had it cut shoulder length the third week of March 2020 but it had grown down to my lower back. After straightening it, I couldn’t believe it was so long. It was a lot of hair and it really needed the cut. I took off about 10 inches (in women’s measurement 😬). I’m 61 so my hair is dry and breaks easily. And I can still put it into a ponytail or braid. Thanks again for this!!!

My cousin is my normal hair dresser but since covid if you want a cut/color you book 4-6months in advance. It's hard to get to her and I don't trust someone to not chop all my length off again. I've been cutting my own hair for over 10 years now and only tried this technique tonight. I am here to report that this was 100% successful. It only took 5 mins or less. The brushing took longer than the cutting part (I didn't iron my hair). My hair came out with so much layers and looks exactly like the video. BUT, I am not about that many layers right now. So I went ahead and cut the longer parts and now it looks like a Korean long layered haircut just like Moon Ga Young's hair in Find Me In Your Memory. I also cut the front a bit to get some layered bangs. I cannot freaking believe how perfect it came out and I just discovered it a few weeks ago and only got the courage to try it out tonight.
