  • How does running work in fear and hunger 2 termina? All-Bones Jones' video on the first game has been around for a long time now, but nobody made on for Termina. So as usual I'm just doing the cleanup work really.
Anyway for anybody that wanted to know how it works in description form:
Every enemy has the same run chance. That chance is 80% without escape plan or 90% with it. However whenever you successfully run away, that chance gets modified. The first time it goes down to 66.7% or 85% with escape plan, then it goes down to 50% or 75% with escape plan. It doesn't go any further than that. Whenever you change screens you have a 1/5 chance of removing those flags, going back to normal run chances.
Then just like the first game the menu run works differently from the skill. Using your average agility divided by the enemy's average agility then multiplying by 50%. So if they're the same it's 50%. And by default it is the same since you both have 10. If you get 20 agility then it's 100%.
This video should have been done, at least 2 weeks ago, but I've had a lot of issues lately. I normally write long like blog paragraphs at the bottom of my descriptions so sorry to any viewers just looking for the guide here's channel stuff. The main cat featuring in rating cat pokemon with my cats, Cygnus, almost died. We didn't know what it was for a while other than kidney failure, but he must have eaten a toxic plant while outside. Probably a daylily. My sister takes him outside and supervises him but doesn't restrain him and she isn't supposed to do that but she keeps doing it anyway. So he was in an emergency animal hospital for a week. I visited him every day which took at least two and a half hours. Then after he's out he's still recovering we have to do a subcutaneous injection on him that's pretty bad trying to stab a cat with a big needle and hold it there for a few minutes. There's been Some other things too. I don't think I mentioned but the other cat in that video has diabetes. It's not actually that bad though the insulin isn't expensive and it's easy to inject. She has to live in my room now though so she can have different food from the other cats. Which is kind of nice, kind of not. Then before the cat thing there was just a long series of extremely stressful events I won't go into detail here. Unfortunately all this means that even with this long gap between videos I barely made any progress on any other videos. I got in one night of script writing for a SUPER long video I've been working on but will no matter what be waiting until the next Termina update. And that's it in 4 weeks, that and this really short simple video.
Anyway if anybody would like to help with the significant medical bills from Cygnus then: subscribe! That's kind of a joke but if I get 1,000 subscribers then I can monetize videos and I have no idea how much it'd be, but it'd be something. My videos get pretty good views I just don't have the subscribers.

Small mechanic clarification: The run_away switches that reduce run chance only activate if you use the run skill, and only apply if you use the run skill.
Similarly the 10% increase to run chance if you fail is only triggered by using the menu/rpgmaker run and only applies to the menu/rpgmaker run.

Well the game doesn't tell you so it would be pretty difficult to think of it.

I once failed to run away from the gull bros, despite it being my first attempt to run and me having 21 agility. I used esc->"Run!". Any explanation?

so if i just change my agility into 25, does that mean average monsters can be escape for me?

If your average party agility is 20 then you can always run from enemies.
