COOL
Hola
Oh, yeah. My next project. This video is a kind of template of how to make a video! I wish more CZcams woodworker who post long-winded Pfaff would see this and have a lightbulb moment. Very well done, GreenSaw.
You are unbelievable. I´m build my own workshop and with your video i can add another great machine. Big thanks for your work!!!
Thank you for your nice comment. Good luck with your new workshop.
Couple of suggestions. Firstly, leave a slight gap between the wrappings around the drum to avoid them riding over each other and creating a bump. Secondly, when sanding a board that has a cup, put the cup-side down to avoid it rocking as you put it through. This makes it quicker to get a level face and reduces the number of passes needed. Great build though.
Ide luarbiasa, hasil menakjubkan 👍 (Indonesian)
Do not pay attention on dislikes...very good job !
Thank you Sir...
Excellent build. I like simplicity and yours is very simple to build. I appreciate all the tools and equipment you have made for yourself. In today's world, there are not many who know how to do it themselves. We need more trade schools.
Excellent build
I really liked this project. Very well prepared and explained in detail. I thank you for sharing video and PDF, because I know that many would like to do work even if as a hobby, but for different reasons, they cannot purchase such equipment, but with this project, they can produce it and start developing their own works. May God bless you for your generosity, with many achievements in your work. Hugs.
Thank you for your nice comment.
@@GreenSaw You're welcome. My comment was a form of recognition for your great work and an incentive for you to continue dedicating yourself even more.
Grazie.
Very nice idea
Excellent for miniature projects. Sorts of load conveyer is better added. 👍👍👍👍
Additional advice... during the process of making your cylinder true, an easy way to finish the process is to take a good known piece of flat stock and apply a sheet of rough grit sandpaper to it. Hold it against the bottom plate and repeatedly run it from side to side as you tighten your tolerances up.
Another nice feature you could add would be to swap out your cylinder system for one that uses replaceable drums. This way, you just need one set of bearings and you can swap out the drum that is installed on the bearings easily. This would allow you to make spare drums to swap out at will, keeping an extra of your most often used grit on hand along with fine grits for when you want to have a more finely finished surface.
Thank you for your advice.
It just what I was looking for
Amazing ❤❤
Excellent new idea
Nice music oh and nice wee sander too 👍

Great build, thanks for sharing
I'm glad you like it, thank you for your comment.
Looks simple but is very effective, simple and clear and is very good job! thank you for sharing :)
This is brilliant really much like the method to get it done.im gonna put this on my next projet build since it does not required any welding at all n i hate it when it needs weld because im sucks in welding parts...
simple , but very good
Nice 😊👍👍☕🤝🤝🇮🇩
Chou de bola. Vou tentar fazer uma dessa
Ingenious, well done, thanks for the video.
I am very glad that you like it. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Wouldn't using a hole saw in your pillar drill have made making the round parts much simpler (and smoother)?
You beat me to it. Exactly what i was gonna say.
you will have a better looking circles, but you will not avoid rounding the drum 11:23
MDF with drill is not easy to cut but can still be done
Maybe he didn't have a hole saw that size? Never know
It is possible to cut the circle in many ways. That's what I did this time. Mortern & maker202 are right ..
That’s pretty darn slick
Looks very nice! Feel free to embed this video on our homemade tools forum; our guys would love it.
how this fit with proposed charges for embeding youtube videos on HMT?
Súper bueno
Super Video 👍
Fácil y práctico, buen proyecto...te felicito amigo, mis saludos desde Perú

Teşekkür ederim Olcay Bey, Saygılarımla.

great build man! And it seems to work very nice! I like the idea about attaching the sandpaper. Thanks for inspiring!
Thank you for your nice comment.
You can also roll the drum in epoxy and then grit.
Muy buena pedagogía excelente Venezuela
Ottima più della mia ...... Bravo
Bonjour,
Bonjour,
Je suis content que ça te plaise. S'il vous plaît suivre.
Dear friend, I did not understand something. At 5:58 (and 6:28 - 6:34), your rolling bearings are tucked into the wooden sides and protected with three screws each. Now comes the surprise: at 6:57 (and 7:12 - 17:46) your rolling bearings are threaded on both ends of the shaft. What is true: first or second?
Thank you for the good question. You're right, there's a contradiction. First I thought of applying the first method, but then I gave up. Please forgive me for this. The second method is correct.
Congratulations on your attention. :)
Best Regards.
@@GreenSaw It is okay. Your build is very nice. I'll try it too. Thanks for the idea. Greetings from Serbia.
Best CZcams music.
It's alright build on a budget, but for small pieces like shown it seems faster with a sharp hand plane to me and less dust.
A good sharp hand plane may do the trick for those pieces shown, but what would you do for such small pieces that happen to be wood burl or gnarled and knotted wood? A hand plane will likely chip bits of wood fiber out with every pass, no matter how sharp you make that blade or which direction you approach the work from. The surfacing drum sander is a feasible way to approach this issue and achieve acceptable results with a minimum of time and effort invested.
@@gregoryhalye8907 There is a time and place for a planer and a time and place for a sander. I see General Zugs' point, but every tool has its purpose. I do as much metal work as wood work and I have found that in most applications for metal a drum sander is as good as a surface grinder unless you need a precision grind. I always enjoy homemade tools.
This sander can smooth other materials than wood too! Metal, plastic etc.
I am going to agree with you , he should have made it for a bigger piece. You bring a very important of the dust, I couldn’t agree more.Good point.
This is the best diy design I've seen yet. Thanks for sharing. Keep it up.
Thank you, for your nice comment...
Very nice. Well done!
Thank you.
Great job......very nice work
Thank you.
Fantástico projeto, vou ver se faço o meu
Parabéns amigo

..... Sei forte !
Grazie
Very nice build and video !!
In my small shop space is always an consideration so I would prefer the motor below the sander to cut down on the width.
👏👏👏
Absolutely love this video
Well done … great demo and well achievable... thanks
Thank you for your nice comment.
Get yourself a circle cutter to use in the drill press. Leaves you with a perfectly centered hole also. Save some time and steps. Clever rig !
Thank you for your advice.
Nicely done and an easy to watch video too. Thank you :-)
Tack!
Thank you for your support. With my deepest respect...
Very nice build! I enjoyed it very much...🤠
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot for sharing it. One important step I find in your video. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you firman syah...
Amazing projects, free PDF and great ideas! This is one of the best channels I've seen. I have built 2 of your channel projects and they worked very well for me. Thank you very much for sharing! 👍🏻
I'm so glad. Thanks for your beautiful comment.
Bravo complimenti 👍
Great idea! I love seeing all of the DIY tools used to make this DIY tool!
Thank you Jerame, regards.
Good
Ficou show de bola!
Very good. My understanding is that sanders should run at a slower speed, you might change the pulley sizes. Keep up the innovation !!
Thank you for your advice.
Really nice!
I'll give you mad props on your effort. But so many things are going to go wrong with this in time. Esp. When it comes to the motor and pulley system. Good luck with that.
Nice work bro. great idea thanks for filming and sharing
with a more powerful bench grinder I recon you could even make a wider version if you wanted to !
Thank you Sean B., may be later :)
good job
Grazie.
Muy lindo y útil.... gracias.
small n simple design, so easy to build
Dam you know this guys good when he pulls out the milwaukee cordless sander
Lindo trabajo...felicitaciones.
