    Thanks for sharing. I bought a 18859 brushed in the spring. I installed metal shocks and driveshafts. It has been great all year. Brushless motor would be even nicer, but I have still been super happy

    Great review again, thanks! 😃👍🏻 We came back to the rc hobby over a year ago with one SG1602 after we watched your review about the 1/16 scale. The second one followed soon. One is now fully upgraded and the other one is only upgraded with oil shocks and sealed bearings. They're so much fun and almost indistructable! After we got the Pro version of the HBX 16889 last week besides some 1/10 stuff I thought to buy no more rc vehicle until christmas 😁 But love that little upgraded thing with its vorteks color style! So, I'm gone for a moment to check the credit card status 😜

      @@RunThatRC You're absolutely right! Have you already seen the Flyhal FC600 on Banggod? It's a fully upgraded HBX 16890/SG 1602 for only 105$. In case of doubt less expensive than the upgrade parts or spare parts by itself 😜

    I have a Traxxas Bigfoot (Stampede platform) and I love it. However, it’s not the most convenient to transport when I’m going someplace like school. Im thinking about getting a 1/18 scale one that would fit in my backpack and my friend had the brushed version of this and it works great, so I’m thinking of buying this for myself. This video was really helpful and I think I’m definitely gonna buy the 18859A

    Just got mine. Nice quick little car. The rear shock too soft. I changed mine out to a HBX16889A shock (£6) and its much better. Doesn't bottom out when dropping from 2ft. Before it was hitting the body off the floor when dropping from 1ft.

    Great little truck. Just purchased one already thanks. Question though, how long does it take you to charge the battery with the supplied charger and if there is anything else to charge it fast could you provide a link for a decent charger please?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  Před 2 lety +2

      I never use the stock charger on these but usually they take between 30 to an hour for most to charge depending on the batteries charge state. You can use most hobby grade chargers as this truck uses the common deans style connector. You can always upgrade the connectors so get a good Hobby grade charger and you will be good to go.

  • @Steve-qc9pu
    @Steve-qc9pu Před 2 lety

    Does the battery charge just with the usb cable or do you need something special to monitor it because I’ve heard that li-po batteries can be very dangerous.

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  Před 2 lety

      They can be dangerous if you dont follow the basic lipo care procedures(Charge at a 1c rate, never over charge or discharge and always store at storage voltage) . You just need a power brick and the charger included is a balance charger but its slow an don't charge lipos unattended. I recommend getting a hobby grade charger for safer and faster charging.

      I actually like the old school look of the pre face lifted 2010 to 2013 models. There are no trd pro or trd off roads for these years. They are much rarer than the 2014 and above aggressive face. same truck but different front end. This is a SR5 4x4 premium with the manual lever for the 4wd. I am looking at arb lockers but as of now atrac, 3 inch lift, sliders and 33 inch tires has got me everywhere my friends with FJs and Trd off road and pros go. I would never buy a pro because I would just modify it and take off all the stock trd stuff. I was looking for a trail edition 2010-2013 but unfortunately my time ran out. My honda pilots transmission went out so I went that same day and found this with almost all the options I wanted with low miles and a good price. Unfortunately no 2010-2013 trail editions where available for sale. I am waiting for the new 6th gen to come out before I purchase another 4runner but I will be adding another 4runner to the garage in the near future. Thanks for stopping by!
